Help! Can't stop eating!

Okay ladies, I need your help. I don't post much, but you all seem to have yourselves so together and I could really use some help. My DH is getting ready to deploy and he's doing a lot of training lately - so he's almost always gone now. Well, as if that's not stressful enough, work is crazy, I'm getting my master's degree, and I have a crazy puppy who's bigger than me! All that stress is leading me to eat a TON!! I find that I'm really good all day, but then the evening comes and if I slow down for even 5 minutes, I don't want anything but junk and I eat and eat and eat. Even if I eat healthy things, I'm eating WAY TOO MUCH. How do you ladies keep yourselves in control when you're under stress? I'm really struggling with this and I don't want to undo all of my hard work. Please help!!! Thanks!

What are some hobbies you enjoy? While your husband is away perhaps you can put together a scrapbook to get through the time. Maybe you and puppy could take an obedience class or participate in a puppy play time that many vet clinics have. Is there a fitness or hiking group you might like to get involved with? Perhaps you and your classmates (provided you aren't working on your degree online) could meet up for an end of the semester movie or coffee? Aside my moving your jaw...what do you enjoy doing?? Rather than beating yourself up for eating in what I can imagine must indeed be a very stressful time perhaps you can focus on other means of enjoyment. Remember to be nice to yourself ;-)

I have been an Amy wife for 24 years and going! My DH been deployed many times, I know what you are going through! Deployment is a different type of stress! Is this the first deployment you are going through? Where are you stationed, how long have you been with the military? I can give you advice if I know the answers to these questions?

For the groups benefit, it is difficult to put into words the stress that is felt by the spouse of a deployed soldier. The only thing that comes close, is a police officer in a major city with a high crime rate. Soldiers, when deployed pull there weapons each and every day. The average police officer never has to draw his or her weapon throughout their time on the force (this is a good thing). I am by no means deminishing the dangers that our law enforcement officers face daily, I am just trying to depict what it is that our dear friend is going through.

I agree with Beavs be nice to your self! Again, I am not saying that I know more about the military than you, I just want to offer help and guide you to assistance that you may not be aware of. I am also willing to do this on personal email if that helps.

Good luck

i notice when im off of work and home more i want to eat more yes i stress eat too thats a start you realize it:) funny thing when im home more i do more cleaning house work ect.. and thus eat more out of stress and sometimes yes i eat because im bored too drink plenty of water might help your hunger

I also often snack and snack and snack and snack and SNACK at night -it happens more when I haven't eaten enough during the day. I've heard that high-protein meals keep you full and keep your blood sugar balanced better so that you're not hungry. And I recently read an article about eggs - they fed some people eggs in the morning, and found that the people ate less the rest of the day and also ate less the NEXT day - it averaged out to people eating like 400 calories less every day they ate eggs AND the day after. Not sure if it's just the protein or something special about eggs. Anyhow, I find if I eat eggs for breakfast it keeps me full for a long time and I don't feel like snacking as much.
