HC Chest/Triceps-Push-ups!

Hey all...just wanted to comment that the first time I saw the descending sets of push-ups on this workout I thought there is NO way I'd ever be able to do all those on my toes. Well...I just did the workout for the third time yesterday and decided to just suck it up and give it my best shot....I DID ALL THE PUSH-UPS ON MY TOES!!! All 72 of them!! Pretty thrilled with this series, feel that it is really strengthening my core which is so important for my sports training. Have a great day all!!

Cheryl

WOW!!! That's terrific!!! Congratulations!!! I do them on my knees and just barely finish them!!! You must be in gret shape!

Way to go, Cheryl! Cathe always insists on mental preparation and embracing the challenge. It's lovely when the challenge embraces us back, doesn't it?:)

Holy Cannoli - you are crazy wicked strong. I can do most of them on my knees and a few on my toes. But by the end I'm walking into a tunnel of light surrounded by angels.......
Melissa

I always do them all on my toes.....while I'm doing them on my knees, my toes are touching the floor. That counts, right?

Seriously, though, what a great accomplishment. Good for you!

I can't believe this workout. I did it on Wednesday and my triceps are just starting to feel better. What a workout. I did
GS legs today and complained through that workout too!
Sharon
I don't think I will ever be able to do pushups on my toes!

Oh my gosh Cheryl, you are my hero! That is awesome! I'm getting there, I'm getting there.... :) :) :+

Congratulations Cheryl!

I dread doing them, but I get them done each and everytime. Now, if I could only master that levitation move...

I decided from the get-go that I was going to do all of these on my toes (doing P90X finally brought me to the place where I can do sets of push-ups on my toes, and I didn't want to take a step backwards). The two times I've done the workout, I've succeeded, but I put more rest between the sets. It was either that or do quite a few on my knees (or with one knee on the floor and the other leg lifted behind me, which I prefer to "on knees" which is too easy). I opted for the "on the toes" no matter how I got it!

72?! It looks rather overwhelming when you actually see how many there are (like the 120 squats in the beginning segment of PH). Maybe it's better not to think about that.;-)

Cheryl...ME TOOO! I did them all on my toes this past Saturday and I was beaming at MYSELF when I was done. (Was also very hot & sweaty!:p) I know my form looked terrible and I wasn't going very deep on those last sets of 4's and 2's, but I DID them! I never dreamed in a million years I would be able to do it because push-ups, for some reason, have gotten harder for me this past year??? Now, the levitation move is a completely different story. I just cannot get my feet off the ground. I watch Cathe and her arms have a bend in them BEFORE she starts and I looked at mine and they have NO bend at all, sooo I truly wonder if length of arms factors in. I just can't seem to push "up" as my arms are already straight BEFORE I begin. Anyone else notice this? I know, excuses, excuses! :7 I will keep at it. Like Cathe says...just attempting the move is using muscles.

Way to go Cheryl! I know how you feel. I did this one for the first time last week and I had psyched myself out before I started that I would never make it. Well I surprised myself and did all the push-ups on my toes. They probably weren't pretty toward the end but that gives me something to strive for. I did find the chest work following the push-ups more difficult because of the fatigue and I was shaking more than usual. I'm hoping that will get better as I become more acclimated to the workout.

Hey Debbie...I couldn't do the levitation move the first time I did that core workout. Later that night after karate class, I was complaining about it so my classmate asked me to show her what I was talking about. Well guess what??? I did it and was quite shocked. I think it helped that I didn't have shoes on. Also even though I am cross legged, I find it helps to raise my knees up slightly rather than trying to keep my legs in a flat "indian style". Does that make sense? HTH:)

WTG Cheryl!!! Don't you feel so strong after doing that- at least until it's time to do those bench presses x( LOL!!! I've achieved this feat twice last week and then again today. I was wondering if I would be able to do it again and I could. Now I cheat a little and take extra rest between sets but for me that's OK and I'll work on shortening the rest. My chest is sort of having spasms right now trying to type is a little tough.

Keep up the good work!!

JJ!

Thank you, thank you! I did it just for a split second! Shoes were off and I raised my knees up a bit more. I almost felt like I was going to start swinging like Clare's daughter! LOL! Like I said, it was a QUICK second but, NOW, I have hope! Thanks for the tip. I am determined. I have always been able to conquer all of Cathe's challenges but this one is a doozey. (I STILL think my arms are too short! :p) Thanks again.

Hey all! I finally got back to read this thread (work has been crazy!) and saw all your comments...really made my day!! I've had a tough week...work has been crazy, I've been sick with a cold/sinus thing, husband is being a butt-head, etc. etc. :) Congrats to you gals that have also done all the push-ups they are tough aren't they! And for those of you still building up, just keep at it you'll get there! I didn't think I'd ever do that many push-ups on my toes, my upper body is not naturally strong, really have had to work hard on that. Since I started swimming (for triathlon) it has seemed to help my upper body strength. Yeah, now that levitation hold is still baffling to me. Will have to try that without shoes and lifting the knees!! Have a great day all!

Cheryl

Congrats to all of you on doing that many push-ups!!!!:) :) :) You are all an inspiration! I know I was excited when I did MM, ME, or one of the DVD's and did all but four on my toes. It wasn't 72, but I was still pretty darn excited.

I'm curious though what's this levitation move? I don't have HC-CTP, yet. So, I'm really curious!

Have fun you crazy girls! Puuuuussshhhh! ;-)
