having trouble finding good sneakers

I'm new back to the exercise scene. I'm having trouble finding good shoes that would be good in a high impact step class. What sneakers are you wearing now? I've started having knee pain the I think its due to needing new shoes. Thanks, Anne

I'm planning on heading out this weekend to try these shoes for myself, as well. I've had lots of problems finding a shoe that doesn't either hurt my feet or my legs/knees. One shoe will feel great on my feet, but hurt my legs or lower back. Another shoe will feel great on my legs and lower back, but make my toes "burn" about 10-15 minutes into the workout. Grrr!

I haven't tried the Ryka, yet. I hope they work on all counts.

I bought these recently, and they are just amazing. They are very cushiony and bouncy and you immediately feel a difference. My knees don't hurt anymore, and they've ALWAYS hurt after specific workouts. I did MIC yesterday and my knees and back feel just fine today. They also have great support in the ankle area.

Good Luck in your hunt for the perfect shoe!

Catwoman, I had this problem too. Do you have wide feet? I found that having a wide fit shoe, my feet don't burn anymore.

Hey Catwoman,

I've found with some shoes my feet tingle and actually go to sleep.
I read recently in Runners World that if when you lace up your shoes if you skip putting the lace through that little loop on the tongue this will help with the tingling. I did this and it works!! I'm not sure if that's the problem you're having, but I thought I'd mention it just in case.

Fab40, I have the wide foot problem. It can be very frustrating finding a good shoe. I have found that www.holabirdsports.com offers lots of widths in many of their shoes. Plus, they usually have the best price, even after shipping (which is about $4-5 no matter how many shoes you order). I usually try on shoes at a store to find what I like, then go to their website and order it in a larger width (and for a cheaper price). Anyway, hope this helps.

Hi emy, I just got New Balance cross trainers and I love them. They come in wide width. I no longer have the burning feet and my callouses are disappearing. Thanks though. I also use the cushions for the ball of the foot (gel soles?) I have never had happier feet.:7

OOPS GUESS THEY WERE NOT QUITE THE SAME AS CATHE'S LINK, ha, sorry about that! But either way I know people have suggested these, that's why I bought them and you can't beat their prices. You might check for the ones Cathe suggested on this site. Happy shopping!
