The muscle tone doesn't surprise me, but the skin sure does. I'm not sure it's possible for a 72-year old woman to have skin that smooth - all over. She has the skin of a twenty-year old, which makes this suspect for me. However, such miracles do exist - even if they are one in a billion - and in these days of global communication, it is not surprising that such a person should become well known.

I understand your suspicion (especially the image we have of what a 70 yr. old should look like), but I'm not suspicious at all. I suspect that the people that contacted the press have known this woman for a while and know her age. Even if she was 55, she would still be an amazing story. I've also seen many African Americans at her age with much smoother skin than people are used to seeing.
