Have you guys checked out

If your not into running, you could sub biking for it. I don't care for running but I live to bike ride. You could even sub swimming in, as long as you grabbed a kick board and held onto it, giving your upper body a little bit of a break and just used your lower body to get you across the water. You could sub in aerobics as well, all you'd need to know would be the basic calories that you'd burn off during that given distance/time, and find an aerobic workout that met it.

HTH,

Kit-

When we lived in an apartment I used to do those kick board moves your talking about in the pool. They felt really good and you definitely feel it.:)

oh...my...gosh...

I read this thread and quickly went and checked out that rotation. I was in tears laughing after reading the first week. Is this for real? Whoever attempts this as is deserves an olympic medal! I'm not kidding.

LOL Bootcamp twice in a day? My goodness!

I look at it this way. I'm finishing Aug '04 Rotation and it's pretty tough and I'm thinking Cathe has read our threads about this rotation and wanted to do something even harder for Aug '05. I see myself trying this rotation maybe in December because I'll be on vacation. Of course I will try it with tons of modifications because I don't have some workouts she listed.

Btw, Pinky, great question about carbo-loading. I think that rotation should come with diet advice too. There's no way I'll be trying that rotation with the amount of calories I'm eating now. I think I'll have to increase the amount of complex carbs and protein. Oh and I can't imagine doing Bootcamp twice in a day without carbo-loading, but that's just me. I wonder what all the marathon runners in the forums have to say about this rotation and how we should eat.

I was just reading all the posts on the rotation forum and noticed that Cathe has made an adjustment to week 4. I don't know if anyone has printed the rotation yet, but thought I should mention it. I am saving the rotations on my computer and onto a diskette for when I am able to do them.:)

I'm going to give this rotation a shot. Just think of the transformation your body could take on this rotation and CLEAN eating!!! The whole idea is so exciting!!!! I will have to modify here and there I can see that right now, but I'm in 110%.

Later...Marcia.

I like all the little jabs and jokes she put in the rotation too!! LOL!!! I think I might attempt this rotation but I will be starting August 15th. We are leaving for vacation the 8th for a week. I didn't want to start the rotation and then not be able to go on vacaton because I am on the floor and cannot get up. hehe

This rotation seems excessive to me. Looks like a shortcut to injury. It doesn't suit my goals at all. Way too much cardio and not enough emphasis on strength.

I don't know what she was thinking but this one is way off the mark.

Ummm I dont know what to think on this one . I printed it anyway though I might skip it . gees bootcamp twice in one day !! .I remeber doing Low Max twice in one day ,and I caught alot of grief .Only out of concern though ,so dont get me wrong here.I wonder if Cathe decided to do this rotation cuz shes been putting easier ones up all summer ,and summer is almost over .So its time to get back into gear !!I truly have a differant rotation for Aug.As I just got 12 new workouts (Intensity series ,And Body blast). anyhow just my 2 cents

RE: Hey Carla and Shelley

Love reading all the comments on this rotation. Carla and Shelley can I join you? I already have a 6 - 8 week rotation that I'm 2 weeks into and seeing some results. I don't want to ditch what I'm doing, so I would love to join the two of you in following this for September. That'll give us a month to so how everyone else fares in this grueling rotation. Good luck everyone!

Lorrie

How do you do two hour workouts? I suppose you don't do it back to back in the morning on an empty stomach...????? Doy you drink Gatorade or something during the workout? Do you do it after breakfast? I made this question a few weeks ago and almost everybody told me that their maximum working out time is 60 to 75 minutes and they do it in the morning on an empty stomach. Many made fun of me for the question, but now Cathe posted this rotation and I am wondering even more!

I did check it out, but have decided against it. It's a huge time hog, IMO, and I've got too much other stuff to do besides working out.

I agree.

For those of you "super advanced" folks (there's got to be a term above "advanced" for people who are going to take this on) who are going to try it, kudos to you.

It looks like overtraining to me.

People made fun of you for that question? I think that's a very valid question and shame on anyone who made you feel foolish for asking. My maximum is 90 minutes, but more for the reason of having other things to do and getting a little bored of exercising. I could probably do Boot Camp 2X back-to-back, if I had nothing else to do that day. I would probably have to eat before (I almost ALWAYS eat before exercising), and I'd probably have to take a bathroom break between starting the second time through.

I won't be doing this one either. I've given it some thought but I know me and I can't do this. This would be overtraining to me complete with insomnia, knees and ankles hurting, etc. This is only my opinion for my ability or lack thereof. I just can't imagine doing something like BC twice in one day. I know how I feel after doing it once and I would not be able to manage it twice. Also this rotation does not provide enough recovery time for me, I am currently on a 4 day on/1 day off generic rotation and it is working so far.

Good luck to those who do it. You will definitely feel accomplished after tackling this one. It just isn't for me.

I am all over this one-it is not far off from my workout's time wise and intensity.I may have to break up into a.m and p.m workouts unless I want to get up AT 4:30 I don't think so.
I have broken down most and printed them down with the times so I will know give or take minutes what time frame I'm looking at.I already do the hc uppers all in one setting and I am looking forward to seeing if I can DO bootcamp 2 times in a row I'll give it the best shot I can and after all I always am trying to push myself to higher limits and it is only for weeks;) can you believe I am actually looking forward to this punishment.

I'm with you Sheila. I am going to give it a go and do the best I can. If I can't finish it then at least I tried. It's all about listening to your body and stepping out of your comfort zone.

Wish me luck!

KarenL:)

Thank goodness I'm training for a marathon right now (so I won't be able to fit in this rotation). I just ran 13 miles today! This marathon training seems so much easier now. TeeHee!
