Have you ever noticed...

Okay, this is a thread for unconnected observations on the world and our place in it. For example...

Have you ever noticed...that the people who always say that they hate drama are always at the centre of it and thriving on it?

Whatcha got?

Have you ever noticed that kids under the age of 10 omit the "p" in the word NAPKIN??? It's not a NAPKIN...it's a NAKIN! :p

Why is it that at about the age of 10 or 11, every other word out of a girls mouth is "like"?

Carrie - who has an almost 12 year-old DD who says LIKE WAYYYY too much!

Did you ever notice that the sight of something seemingly ordinary can totally make (or break) your mood? examples: Seeing a Robin means spring is here!! :) Snow in March :( Dry pull-ups in the morning (my son's, not me!!!) :) an e-mail/text/phone call from a friend :) the temperature on the thermometer (outdoor: higher the better in my child's mouth: higher the more I worry)

Did you ever notice that you can interact with 50 wonderful people during the day but it's the one a**hole in the group that ruins the whole day for you?

Heidi

Did you ever notice that NO ONE who drives an HHR actually drives well?
And that anyone with a WWJD stickers drives like crap too?

WWJD???? He'd hang up the phone, put the cigarette down and flippin' drive! And when WWJD drives the HHR, watch out world. Traffic will be goin' nowhere.

In a metro area with millions of people, I get stuck behind this idiot at least 2x a week. Life is funny like that, no?

I have a brother who is 39 that uses the word "like" all the time. It's like he's a twelve yr old kid. I find it rather annoying coming from someone that age.

We were stuck behind someone with a WWJD sticker once who was going about 15 mile under the speed limit. When we finally got the chance to pass him DH yelled out the window "He'd drive faster!"

Have you ever noticed that when you get annoyed/angry/upset with someone else, it does not occur to you to think of how you share the same trait as the object of your displeasure or have made a similar transgression yourself in the past? <I have been actively practising "And How Am I Like This?" every time I am angered and I have to say, I am amazed at my past hypocrisy/lack-of-self-awareness and have much less occasion to be angry!>

Laughing, Vee, because your post could so completely be directly in response to my original post, but with your trademark gentleness and kindness, you didn't point it right at me! Thank you!

Also smiling at this. I have noticed that some of the things that annoy me most about other people are things that I do myself. Maybe that's what makes me more annoyed--that I know this and yet haven't been able to change it. :)
