Has this happened to anyone before?

I was doing insanity and dropped about six pounds, then I just hovered at this one number on the scale for a while. That was about 3 weeks ago, now I am doing some Cathe videos and the cardio is not as intense, however, now I have busted through the plateau I had several weeks ago. I am still eating the same amount of calories and yet the weight seems to be moving again. Why would the weight come off now without me doing as intense cardio? Has this happened to anyone else and what do some of you trainers think about this? Thanks ahead of time :)

You've changed your routine, . . and you are keeping your body guessing. Also if you are doing Cathe and lifting that changes everything even more. Muscle burns more fat. Cardio strengthens your heart. Keep doing both, . .but most importantly have fun doing it.

When I was in weight loss mode, my body would not drop pounds if I had too much of a calorie deficit. An average deficit of 500 calories/day was about right. If I upped my cardio intensity too high for too many days/weeks in a row, I wouldn't lose either regardless of calorie deficit. Strength training with adequate time/sleep/food to recover, intense cardio but not too often, and as much moderate activity through the day as possible is what worked for me ( that was often Gym Styles or similar, plus three days of solid interval-styles such as Cardio Coach and KPC/Kickbox, and daily morning hikes).

I only do Cathe workouts, but I do find if I change them up, do a different rotation, etc. a fe wmore pounds will come off without much change in my diet or caloric intake. I think it's true, when you keep your body guessing, it burns more calories/fat. I will lose 4-6 pounds, stay around there for a while, get a few new Cathe workouts, and presto, more comes off.

Keep changing it up every couple of weeks.

Yes, as others have mentioned, that is why it is so important to change your routine. I lost 5 lbs with Insanity, then a few crept back up while I did P90X. As of last Sunday when I weighed myself at the grocery store (I do not own a scale), I was down 2 lbs (I'm now in week 2 of BBL). Of course diet is an important consideration because I ate a bit more during Insanity & P90X because I was hungrier (I do not follow a diet) and am less hungry with the BBL workouts. CONGRATS on busting that plateau!!! :D
