I was never vegan, but I did go vegetarian ten or fifteen years ago. You have to be very careful with this, though. I initially lost about 35 pounds. (I needed to lose more than that.) However, I gained all that back and more because I didn't eat enough protein. I was always hungry from too many carbs, and I was not healthy because, at the time, I didn't even try to watch my protein percentages. I had a huge weight problem, then. I'm still vegetarian, but I make darned sure I get all the protein I need, and now I'm fine. I'm not hungry all the time, I'm more muscular, and I'm just healthier and feel better. Just didn't want the same thing to happen to you.
