Has anyone had a 4d ultrasound?

I made an appointment to have one done and when I told my dad about it he says ob's don't like those cuz they don't know how safe they are. That is why they are not regulated. What do you all think? and Have you had one? Thank you

The hospital where I deliver does 4d ultrasounds, but for research purposes only or when there is something that needs to be looked at in more detail. You can't just pay to have one done for the fun of it!

There is an interesting article about 4d ultrasounds in the newest PEOPLE magazine (Julia Roberts is on the cover) and whether or not they are considered safe and operated by properly trained people. You might want to read it.

Hi,

I had a 4D ultrasound about 3 weeks ago. It's just amazing the detail you can see. Everything I've read about it says it's perfectly safe. The place I went to is called fetal fotos. They have a website with information about why some doctors don't like these ultrasounds. It's www.fetalfoto.com.

Did the experience ruin the first time seeing your baby? I am afraid to see him before birth just because I love the element of the surprise to see who he looks like and all that jazz.
