Hardcore Rotation Checkin for Wed Jan 25

Cathlete
Morning Ladies -

This morning I did Finding Your Core (TLT) plus all of the aerobic segments from Better Burn, Better Buns. That's my 2nd favorite TLT workout. I love those together! However, due to my shoulder/trap problems, I used lighter weights, did not raise my arms above shoulder level and watched my range of motion in general. I think I did aggravate my condition a bit by doing modified pushups. I should have skipped them. I'm sitting here with heat on and then I'll switch to ice in a bit.

Whomever mentioned a Hardcore Fatloss Rotation......I'd be in for that. I'm not sure when I'd want to start though. I really need to do a fatloss rotation cuz I still need to lose weight. I haven't lost the weight I gained at Christmas yet. I'm a little torn though, because I was seriously thinking about doing a Power 90 X and Cathe rotation and then the TLT 30-day challenge. I'm so indecisive!

Re my Push DVDS -- when I sent them the email, I didn't come right out and ask them if I could have another first month's DVD....I only stated that I changed my profile because of my neck/shoulder injury. She emailed me back and said.....as long as your profile is changed, there is no need to contact us, as your next month's DVDs will reflect that change. So -- last night I emailed her back asking if there was anything they can do about the first DVD. I, again, didn't come right out and ask them to replace it....but if I don't get the answer I want to hear tonight, I'll come right out and ask. She didn't say I could cancel though until my 3 months are up. Do you ladies think I should ask to cancel if they don't redo my first month DVD? I hate to be mean, but no sense in receiving a workout that you can't even follow and have to do alternate exercises for!

Have great workouts everyone.... Yuk...it's snowing here.

By the way, the Saucony shoes are Tangent Grid's in Raspberry/Pink and White. They are listed under running shoes (I believe). I think if you do a search for them, you'll find other websites that carry them. That's how I found them, but I bought them from Zappos cuz they had free shipping.

I meant to mention that I think I know how I hurt my shoulders and neck. I did a yoga/stretch DVD on Sunday. The shoulder segment was 15 minutes long and included these stretches you did holding a belt and lifting up and over your head and back five times. I used my resistance band cuz I don't have a strap and I think a combination of the agressive stretch (when putting my arms up that high usually bother me) and maybe torquing my neck/shoulders a bit with the resistance band may have injured me.

Sorry to be so lengthy again today. You ladies are probably sick of me this early in the morning!

Hello Everyone,
Today I will be doing TLT Strength into motion. I really liked this one the first time I did it.

Lora I had mentioned I would like to do a Hardcore rotation, but not right now. I really want to see what the TLT's can do for me. I need to give these a chance. I know what Cathe and SS can do.... so I am just going to see with these:D Hey I have read about quite a few people this month getting injured with yoga? So watch closely what you do. Btw when I was at the grocery there was a fitness mag, and it also had a free dvd of Bobs in with it.

Diane Sue amazon.com has those shoes with free shipping.

Marietta for some reason I thought you did the Hardcore rotation? It was a really good rotation. I have to say I liked the August 05 one we did this summer and I really liked the Hardcore fatloss one. I really never push myself cardio wise, and those really gave me a good challenge:) (with good results!!)

Well gotta go!!

~Nicole

Nicole - the more I think about it -- the more I know I hurt myself with that yoga stretch. I was just thinking -- a long time ago a doctor told me that you can easily herniate a disc doing lat pulldowns behind your neck and I used to always do those. Anyway -- that yoga stretch with the band was sort of like that now that I think of it that way. I hope I didn't bulge my disc out any worse than it already is. I'm starting to worry. I hope I get better. (what kind of injuries have you heard of people getting with yoga?)

Just let me know when you want to start the FL rotation. I'll make sure I don't use my Hardcore's for a while so I'll be ready for them!

Morning ladies!

Lora-I hope your shoulders and neck start feeling better soon. I hate to say it but maybe you should take a rest day and relax (if you can).

Nicole-What magazine had a DVD of Bob's in it? I love Bob! I will see if I can find the magazine (if it is still out).

I got on the treadmill again yesterday. I didn't manage to stay on there long though, the phone decided to ring. Go figure! lol

Have a great day ladies! I will check back in later!

Hi Dallas, Diane Sue, Marietta, Susan, and Terri!!!

Lora - remember you are a married woman (smile)!!

Just couldn't resist!!

Oh...as far as your Push workouts...maybe you can tell them that there was no way for you indicate that you had the problems with your shoulder that wouldn't allow for the workouts that they sent...hopefully they can make a change in the way they are asking for information so that there can be a clear understanding of what their clients are looking for.

I really don't think anyone is at fault...just a misunderstanding. Don't cancel unless you determine that it just will not meet your needs/goals.

Hi guys!

Today I'm doing NOTHING! Again! :7 Man, I have all I can do to get around. hahahaha I'm so excited tomorrow is my LAST day in the office!

OK, My vote for the new name change is...Jollie Hardcore Check-In

I'm totally up for a Cathe Hardcore Rotation this summer! Maybe mix in the TLT's too. I'd also like to add some jogging.
Hey, maybe by summer Cathe's NEW dvd's will be out.

Lora, there is a DVD that came out recently called Yoga Wisdom for Neck Pain and Tight Shoulders. Here is the description:
Allison Nolan's yoga program goes the extra mile to help you relieve neck pain and loosen tight shoulders without risk of injury. The routine features a pre-warm-up and a standing warm-up, muscle firming and lengthening mat work, and a 6-minute deep abdominal workout that also strengthens the back. The program ends with a soothing relaxation segment. Nolan is a certified aerobics instructor and a registered Yoga Alliance teacher.

I came across that one on Netflix.

Nicole, who is Bob?

Sabrina, I have to make it a "rule" to not answer the phone when I'm working out. It's tough, but it's hard to get back into it after stopping for a while. Plus, if you're on a time schedule, forget about it!

Have any of your heard of Victoria Johnson? I used to workout with her show years ago on ESPN. This morning I looked her up. Here is her website: http://www.victoriajohnson.com/

If I remember correctly, she is more of a beginner/intermediate level.
I might download one of her books to bring with me to the hospital next week.

I'll check in a little later.

Good Morning All!

Lora ~ I agree with Sabrina if you can take a rest day I would try. I tell you it's doing wonders for my foot. I still feel pain at certain times during the day, but it's not a constant thing. It was nice concentrating on the weights yesterday. I can see where you'd have to be careful during some of the yoga moves. Bryan Kest always says, "...work as deep as YOU can..." I'll probably do some type a yoga later. I do miss my cardio though!

Sabrina ~ Let's play! ;-) I wish we could!

Nicole ~ Are you getting those Saucony's? Thanks for the link...I think! This forum/check-in is getting expensive! ha ha!

Marietta ~ Did you get all of your groceries? I feel like I'm there every other day! I like both names! Do I have to decide?! :)

Susan ~ I got your e-mail. Thanks for the info. I think I'll wait on that e-bay auction.

Terri ~ Did you get a size 8 in the Saucony's? I think, if I remember correctly, we're the same size?

Diane Sue ~ Did you get all of your stuff done? I have a ton to do today! I'll be leaving soon.

Today I did GSL floorwork. I wasn't sure how that band would treat my foot, but it was fine. Later, when I get back, I'll do SS DVD and a half hour yoga or pilates I taped off of FitTV. I've been wanting to try each of these. One is with Sarah Ivanhoe and the other is with Ellen Barrett. Lora has probably heard of them. ha ha! :)

Have a good day everyone!

Dallas

ETA: Sabrina, I forgot to mention I never answer the phone unless it's the school calling which has happened a few times. Thank goodness for Caller ID!

Susan ~ Where do you find all this information? DVD's, instructors, etc.? You're very resourceful!

Good Morning Hardcore Chicks!!

This morning I did Step Blast and also the following back exercises:

Seated Cable row
Back Extensions
Lat Pull Downs
Barbell Rows
DB Pullovers

I'm sure I'll probably go for a run at lunch.

Oh...I vote for "Hardcore Fitness Checkin"

Lora - Sounds like Susan found the perfect workout for you shoulders...worth looking into. Hope you begin to feel better. By the way...never get tired of hearing from you...that's what we're here for.

Nicole - I probably did a part of the Hardcore Rotation, but not completely. I'd do it, but would probably modify somewhat...but I'm game.

Susan - I've heard of Victoria Johnson...I used to get weekly emails, but now that I think about it...haven't received any in a while. Hey, will we still hear from you when you are not in the office? I hope so...

Hi to all that follow...I'll be back!

Dallas & Susan-I wouldn't answer the phone either but I am afraid that will be THE call for my first client. LOL!

Dallas-I would love to get together. The concert is still on for Feb 23 and we still plan on spending the night somewhere near Joe's. Maybe we can figure something out.

Susan-Did the baby get turned around or are you still having a c-section? Any pains yet? Do we need to do a baby dance for you?

Mairetta-HI!

Marietta - yes, I've been married a LONG time but I like to look at him. Love his tattoos. I like Anthony Kiedis's tattoos also. I always have gone for the bad boys.......funny I married someone totally the opposite.

Susan - thanks for the yoga rec. I just ordered a yoga DVD off of Fitness Organica called "Yoga in the Garden of Serenity". It's supposed to have the a really comprehensive stretch segment for the neck and shoulders. They say it is the best on their website and several people on VF like it. I will check Amazon for the one you mentioned though.

Good morning Ladies,

Ok my vote is for Hardcore Fitness check-in. I just think if we put the word Jollie in there we will have people Clicking away to see what we mean :)

Dallas-Yes we are the same size and the 8's are wht I got and they are a great fit. After 2 days I still cannot say enough good things about these shoes, I also used them yesterday for running on the treadmill.
Nicole-I did the august rotation too and liked it. I would be up for a hardcore rotation when you are ready. I am going to start the January one with Wendy on Monday. I tried to at the beginning of the month but got sidetracked with fitting the SS in as well.
Sabrina-YEah I have to answer my phone sometimes when working out because I have my office at home. Like Dallas though I check caller ID and it has to be important for me to pick up :)
Susan-YAY for you on on the last day of work! I bet you are excited :)
Lora-Is bob the trainer from the biggest loser?
Diane Sue-I was going to tell you that they have the shoes on Amazon.com but Nicole beat me to it. I am still considering ordering another pair for back-up as I like them so much!
Marietta-You're doing the jan 06 rotation? How did I miss that! How is it working for you?

Today I am doing a SS workout and I feel like running again so I will. Tonight I will do chest and triceps. I swear not having a big family and a grown son on his own does have it's benefits. If I get lonely I workout :)

Terri

Terri - Let's say I'm "kinda" following it. I pick and choose from the cardio and then I've been still doing one body-part/day as far as strength training is concerned. I saw Wendy's thread about starting next week...I "might" do it. I'm just waiting for my new Kelly Coffey workouts to get here...very anxious for some reason. Oh, Terri..consider that if you doing runs and workouts in your new shoes they will wear out quicker...better get another pair.

Dallas - YES! You have to vote!!

Sabrina - I cannot wear Nike shoes when I work out...my feet just don't ike them. I do like them though!!

Lora - I hear ya...hey, a girls gotta look...right!

I'd better get some work done...

Hey again!

You guys wouldn't be talking about Bob Paris?? That guy is H-O-T HOT! Oh, Mommy! http://www.classicbodybuilders.com/classicbodybuilderbobparis.html

Dallas, I'll pull out the P90X DVD's again and see what I think about them. I haven't viewed them all. As far as the finding DVD's, I was scrolling through the exercise ones on Netflix. Sometimes I go to VF or YaYa's. I also subscribe to some fitness newsletters.

Marietta, of course I'll check in. I have a home computer. I check-in on the weekends too. The computer we have is from my DH's work. I hope they let him keep it when he leaves the company in April. I can only imagine what a new one costs.

Sabrina, you're right! I forgot clients could call your house. I'd have the cordless right next to the treadmill in that case.
The baby turns SO much I never know which way he's facing. I see the dr. and Anesthesiologist tomorrow. I'm certain I'll have a c-section next Tuesday. So, NO baby dance! He can't come early now. My DH is in Bangore, ME!

Oh I forgot to vote:7 I agree with Terri!! I think if we added "Jollie" people would be lurking here more ha ha. So I go with Marietta idea Hardcore fitness check-in:D It really not that big of change, and it will make life eaiser for loraLOL

Dallas I am so happy to hear your foot in healing quickly!! I am a firm believer in REST;-)
No I purchased a pair of rykas a few month ago. So I will not be needing any new shoes for another 2-3 months. It will depend on how long these ones last??

Sabrina I saw this tan like magazine enclosed in platic wrap with a PUSH dvd, and saying it was by Bob Harper the biggest loser trainer. I was in a hurry so I did'nt even pick it up.

Lora I am not sure what thread it was, but I know a couple over at vf or ya ya's had mentioned that they got there injury's from yoga workout vs. wts, and Tlt's, cathe etc.... a couple of summers ago I was big into yoga, and it did not do good things..... looks wise for my body:eek: I found I really need weights:7

So Susan next Tuesday is the big day??? Be sure and post when you get a chance I am sure everything will go wonderfully, and you will have another little one to love!! Your son is going to be so happy!! I am so happy for you!! Now listen to your dr. and don't try and run any marathons :7 I think your dh should get home now!! What if you go early? Take care!! I will be thining about you!!

Terri for some reason (maybe my kids being sick all winter) I really have not stuck to any rotation. I cannot wait for the wheather to get warm and the sun to shine that gives me lots more energy:D I am going to do this Tlt rotation, and then I really need to do a full Cathe rotation. No one works me like that girl}(

~Nicole

Looks like "Hardcore Fitness Checkin" is in the lead right now...your chance to vote is today...speak now or forever hold your peace!!!

Susan - Just checking (smile)....

Nicole - I don't really "stick" to a rotation myself...I just kinda pick and choose whatever I feel like doing.

Diane Sue - I noticed you did Cardio Kicks Drills the other day...I have viewed that workout just haven't done it yet...I do need to consider just adding on the drills sometimes..you're so clever!

Terri - How was your workout at the gym yesterday? What did you do?

Well...I went for a run at lunch...it was a little over 4.5 miles. I beat the guys I ran with...I love it when that happens! The weather here is great for January...It is sunny and I wore shorts, a long sleeved shirt, and some gloves...it doesn't get any better than this.
