Hardcore Rotation Checkin for Wed Dec 14

Cathlete
Morning Ladies -

I only had time to do TLP Dynamic Strength and Power today, as I have a doctor's appointment and am working the early shift.

Have great workouts everyone. I'll try to check in later from work.

Dallas - I suppose you could use the Transirmer every day, but I'm not cuz I want more variety. I have only had it for a week and a few days, but I have the other Firm box that has the incline (basically the same thing). I was lucky enough to get it after it had been out a while and I got a very sturdy version. I guess when the first incline Firm step came out, they had all sorts of problems with the box not being stable.

Morning Ladies!!

I will be studying all day, except for when I have to go get my new truck tire and get it put on the truck. I will try and find time to check in later and see what everyone is doing. I hope everyone has a great day!

I have my Bunko Christmas get together later, we are going out to eat. Thankfully it is here in town. I will have to get some more study time in afterwards too.

Good Morning!!

This morning I did CTX Step and Intervals repeating the intervals. That was all I had time for because I woke up late again. I think this cold makes me a little lazy...

My DD's team won their basketball game last night and I finished a book I've been reading...It was a good book. Tonight I'm supposed to have dance practice with some of the young ladies at my church. I need to make sure they allremember...so I'll be making some phone calls.

Lora - Hope your appointment goes well...let us know.

Sabrina - The countdown is on!!!

Hi everyone that follows..I'll be back later.

Good Morning All!

Today I did KPC w/u, lo/hi conditioning drills and then L&G standing/floor ankle weight work. I then added various other standing leg work. Oh, those explosive lunges always get me! I didn't have any DOMS from the walking lunges yesterday. I stretched again before I went to bed. Maybe that helped?

Lora ~ Thanks for all the info on the transfirmer and videos. I think it's good to mix it up with other instructors, but I agree I don't think I could stay away from Cathe's too long. :)

Sabrina ~ It will be good to get out tonight with all this studying you're doing. Have fun!

Marietta ~ Oh, I wish I could be more like you and not worry so much what others think. I've made progress in this area, but still have a LONG way to go! Baby steps. ;-) Or maybe that should be lunge steps. ha ha:7

Diane Sue ~ I had mentioned to dh about these adjustable ankle/wrist weights for x-mas. They were from Nautilus and were only $14. Those would be a great addition as well.

Nicole ~ What are these donut weights you mentioned yesterday? Do you have a link?

Hi Terri and Susan!

Have a great workout everyone! It's snowing here again.

Dallas

ETA: I still have GS-Triceps to do. I'll be going down shortly to finish this.

Dallas - yes, I think I've had a long enough break from Cathe. I'm going to do either a Body Blast or Intensity Series rotation (probably starting next week) and then see what Cathe posts for January. Hopefully a good weight loss one! Lord knows I need it after eating that entire box of chocolate that I will finish today....my last 3 pieces....thank Goodness. Then I just have to make it thru the Holidays without my pants getting too tight. I love sweets and I get tempted this time of year. My Mom makes good Christmas cookies

Hello Everyone,
Well today I am going to do Burn it up and listen to my book on tape. Diane Sue I got the outlander so I am looking forward to starting:7

Dallas I picked up these doughnut type weights about 8 year ago at target those were 1 1/2 lbs each, and I use them for increasing my weights. Like when I went up from doing 20lb to 25lb with barbell curls. (these came in really handy) I also have a pair that came with a body bar I got from giam those are 1lb each.I also like to use them to increase the intensity of my kickboxing workout. I think target my still carry them. They are sand filled and look just like a doughnut :D

Hey I just got a confirmation that they are sending me my toe weights!! :D I LOVE getting little things like this!!

Well I gotta go pick up my dd from Kindergarten!!

Well Hello There!

Today I did Firm It Up. Exciting, huh?
Nicole, It's SOOO funny you said you said you listen to your book on tape during the Slim Series workouts. Just this morning I wondered what people think about during these workouts. They are terribly boring (but effective). I read on the YaYa Forum how boring they are. I was thinking of the stock market, how I was going to wear my hair today and what's left of Christmas shopping.
Dallas, you'll really like your toe weights with FIU.

I think the weights Nicole is talking about are something like these:

I've been venturing away from Cathe here and there lately only because I'm pregnant and taking this time to try easier workouts. You're right; I could not stay away from her long either.
I have pictures of Cathe all over my workout room too! hahaha

Lora, I have Firm, Total Muscle Shaping coming this week from Netflix. I believe they use a Transfirmer in it, but I just wanted to see what it's like. Do you have that one? Sorry, if you mentioned it, I don't always remember the names of the w/o's you have.

Marietta, congratulations on your dd basketball team! Yay! What kind of dancing are you practicing?
I'm reading now Iron Dolls. Lots of good info. in it. One thing that I learned last night was when weighing meat, you add 1.75 to 2oz if it is already cooked. So, if you're counting your micros. you need to consider that important bit of info.

A supplier I do business with stopped in this morning with a beautiful bowl of shortbread cookies. Yum! Gotta love the holidays.

Susan you are so funny. I find I am LOVING the simplicity right now, and listening to books are tape have really made the SS exciting for me haha. The time just FLYS. Yesterday I was so into my book... I did not want it to end haha. FYI Some people watch TV when doing these. Ya know they do the TV in a box thingy??? You are right these are VERY EFFECTIVE!! Be happy that you got one dvd with the best back round exerciser. I love Troy!! He does not bother me like some of the others.

I was going to start that Cathe endurance rotation that fitnessfreak posted (LOOKS AWESOME), but I thought WHY????? Holidays get so hectic!!. You are right Dallas will love doing firm it up with her new weights. I can't wait to get mine.:D

Dallas yep that is what mine weights look like, but mine are not waterproof. Thanks for posting the link Susan!!

Marietta I just wanted to tell you. You are not LAZY!!:D Sending you a BIG WELLNESS ((HUG)) your way!! Congrats on your son winning his game!! What was the good book you were reading?

Hey Terri I hope you get your dvd today!!

Take care,

~Nicole

Hello Ladies,

Well I got Firm it Up in the mail and oh boy does that work the legs! I really enjoyes this all lower body workout. I was so excited when she went to the floor work as my legs were killing me!

Nicole-Now I can't wait to get Burn it Up!
Dallas-Ahh snow, what a great thing at Christmas time :) I wishit would snow here again.
Susan-I think about so many weird things when I work out :)
Marietta-I hope you feel better soon!
Lora-How is your boss treating you?
Diane Sue-Thanks for your post yesterday. It is so nice you are planning a web visit with DH.
Sabrina-Have fun at the party and best of luck tomorrow!

Thanks to all of you for the sugestions about mydad. I will let you know what we work out on that.

I will chck back later

Terri

What!? Marietta lazy? I must have missed that. I think we posted at the same time. YOU ARE NOT LAZY! You have a cold silly girl. Did you up your vitamin C? My ds2 calls them "spicy vitamins". :7 I have no idea why? Congrats to your dd!

OK, Nicole, Terri, Lora and Susan, if I get SS for Christmas who's gong to join me? You all will be SS'd out! :p ;-)

Thanks Susan for the link. I'll check it out. I think those platemates will be a nice addition too. I can't believe a year ago I was about to discover Cathe and now all the stuff (videos, mats, high step, regular step, etc) I have acquired in the workout room in a year! I can't believe I still want/need more stuff. Oh well, it's for a good cause.:)

Terri ~ Did you win Burn it Up on Ebay too? It seems like the videos work the lower body a lot? Do they do any upper body? Is it lighter weights?

Lora ~ Yeah for chocolate esp. at that TTOM. Did I ever tell you guys that my dh's family is in the candy business. When I first met my dh, I think I gained 10 lbs. MMMM, chocolate creams! They make homemade fudge, ice cream, turks (turtles), etc. It's very, very bad, but oh so good. :9 I have to stay away from the ice cream/candy shop.

Sabrina ~ How's studying going?

Gotta go dd's bus is coming.

Good afternoon,
I woke up late today. It must be the colder weather. Maybe I just want to semi hybernate like squirrels :) I started with CTX Leaner legs, stopped at the abs, ran on the treadmill for 3.25 miles then did the stretch. I finished after I picked up my granddaughter with GS floor work, and last two segments of CTX all abs, then GSL str.
I have to leave in 10 minutes for a periodontal appt. and do some grocery shopping.

Dallas, I have adjustable ankle weights that my dh got for me several years ago from collage. They go up to 5 lb.. I never take any of the weight out though. I had another pair that had little velcro pockets with sand or (I think lead)filling because they kept leaking black stuff out.

Marietta congratualations on your dd victory

Nicole, I used to have a pair of donut shaped weights that were 1 pd and pink. They stretched so you could put them on your wrists. I used them in some of my old Firm workouts. I gave them to my daughter. Enjoy your audio book. I never thought of trying that when on the treadmill. Mine has a book rack but if I am running hard it is kind of difficult to read. I am reading Red Lily by Nora Roberts right now.

Hi to everyone
Have a great day
Diane Sue

>What's FIU? I guess I'm dense! :p

You're not dense, Dallas.;) It's Firm It Up, the workout I did this morning. There are lots of squats, then you do leg lift holding onto a barbell or chair to work your inner and outer thigh, and some slow roundhouse kicks. I think an extra pound or two would really add to these moves.

I just reread your last post. I know what you mean when you all of a sudden add more and more "gadgets" to your workout collection. (I have a sister who gets her hair and nails done ALL the time, where I'd rather spend my money on fitness thingies).
Anyway, check out this fitness calendar. I think it was real popular last year and some people on this board purchased it.

I have been running around sooooo much that I have not had a chance to go get the vitamin C. I should have some, but I haven't had a cold in ages.

Thanks for the Congrats on my DD's game...she was pretty excited. She made 8 points!

I do Liturgical dance with the young ladies at my church...I have a group of teenagers and I also have a group of girls ages 8 to 12. I typically do my own choregraphy or I attend workshops to learn new moves/dances. It's quite rewarding...but sometimes difficult and time consuming especially when I can't come up something that I'm happy with.

Anyway...enough of that.

I was reading a book called "Soul Matters"...very good Christian-based book that my mom gave me. Very down to earth with practical message. It definitely kept my interest.

Oh well.. gotta go to practice now.

Take care guys!!
