Hardcore Rotation Checkin for Thursday Sept 29

Morning Ladies -

This morning I did Rhythmic Step, or should I say attempted to do Rhythmic Step. I was soooooooo lost that I couldn't even get a good workout. I don't remember having this hard of a time with a Cathe tape since the very beginning. This was the first time I did this, however, the coreography is totally different than any other DVD. I'm a little bummed that I didn't get my heartrate up that high. Oh well, I guess I had a less intense aerobic day. It won't kill me. I also did P90X Ab ripper for my ab workout. I had difficulty getting thru all of the reps. My abs are fatigued from yesterday.

Sabrina - What's up with our DVDS? end of October? I'm off to check my account and see what ship date they now have listed for me.

Sabrina - The conspiracy continues. I just got off of the phone with Amazon.com. I redid my order and ordered all of the DVD's separately. This increased the price by $20. I also had to check the box ....ship items as they become available (for an additional cost). Here's when I'll get my DVDs...Shape Up front and Back will ship on 9/30, Maximize, full frontal and back in action will ship on 10/28 and Cardio Kick Box will ship on 11/29. I have no idea why certain DVDs are available and others are not....but I figured I could spend a $20 more to get 2 of them sooner. It is a conspiracy!!

Susan - I think you asked me about the house the other day and I forgot to answer. My husband and I are hoping to have the work finished up on it by next week and on the market then ....if all goes as planned. We have been having to really "keep on" the people doing the work to keep them going in the right direction. One carpet that didn't come clean is going to have to be replaced also.

Question - I have really been working my legs this month and they still look about the same. What does everyone think about incorporating some "non-traditional" exercises (on my rest day), like pilates style or ballet style leg toning? Will this help them or am I just genetically challenged? I want them to slim down and be well defined? I certainly don't want to waste my time doing these types of moves, but if they'll help.......help please.

This morning I did leaner legs and abs. I will probably do a run or the EFX at lunch. I may also through in some chest work as well.

Lora - I feel you on the Rhythmic Step...I have yet to do that one. I love step, but I know that I will have to take some time to get used this particular workout. I'm waiting for one of those days where I'm just going to do it for the heck of it. As far as not seeing any changes in your legs...Have you made gains in that area compared to where you were when you started working out? Do you generally see progress when you work your legs extensively? That plays alot into what is happening now. I personally don't believe that the pilates or ballet style will do much to change the shape of you legs although they can certainly help improve overall strength and endurance. IMHO, I don't think you're going to see the results in your legs until your foot gets better and you can go all out on your cardio. If that doesn't yield results...you are probably just genetically challenged in that area.


Dallas - That's funny...an acorn woke you up...it's that time of year!! Hope you have a great workout - sounds like a good one. I told you...as far as the DH goes - DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATH...HE WON'T LISTEN!!

WHAT'S UP??:D

This morning was my cardio day. I did SJP (Step and Hi/Lo premix) for 45 minutes, and then did L&G standing only premix (about 30 minutes).
Last night I did KPC (no abs). I usually don't workout twice a day, but had the time and was feeling really energetic. My jumps aren't as high as they used to be.

Marietta, what is EFX?

Lora, glad your house is going pretty well. I hope you're able to make a lot off of it.
I have done many, many different types of training throuout the years. I've changed the shape of my muscles numerous times, depending on what workouts I was doing. There was a time, I had very thin thighs. When I did any move which flexed my quad (such as run, step or lunge forward) you could very easily see all four quad muscles. Back then I was doing NO leg weights. I did tons of cardio. Lots of walking, jogging and stationary bike riding (with no resistance). After the cardio, which was for a loooong time, like 3 or more hours, I would do loooong stretches. I'd hold a quad stretch, on one leg for ten minutes before switching. That increased the length of my muscles.
I'm not familiar (yet) with Pilates or ballet type of exercises, but they may be helpful for your rest days.

Hi Ladies my face is till swollen and I need that infection gone before Saturday. I need that tooth out. I have way to much going onnext week to still have this issue. So anyway I want to do a run on the treadmill do you think it's ok even though I have an infection?

I'm back...slow day at work today.

Lora is on a mission...I can't wait to hear the scoop on what she finds out. She wants to lean out her lower body and she has put out an "all-points-bulletin"!! Let us know what conclusions you come to Lora...

Terri - I don't know about you jumping around with that infection in your mouth...might wanna chill out. Go for a high-incline walk on the treadmill. I do that quite often and it's a nice change of pace. Hike that baby up to 10-12% and feel the burn!! Beats you jumping around and making matters worse...Ok?

I don't have an elliptical, have to use the one at work...which works out just fine. If I had my own I'd want a really good one so I'll just keep using the one at the J-O-B.

Hey...I went for a 4-mile run during lunch. Didn't do chest...maybe later...maybe not.

Hey Everyone,
(Day 4:7) Today I did S&H Chest and back and the planks. Last night I rode my airdyne for 20 min.. So I may do that again tonight!!

Lora in many fitness books that I read. They say biking is really good for them??? I am going to *TRY* being consistant riding my airdyne, and I will let you know;-)

Nicole- I have such a hard time with time off especialy since they arent taking the tooth out till saturday and my guess I won't feel like working out that day :( So biking is good for the legs? Now I want a bike too... Ok lora it's up to you to find out the best and report back how it works for you :)

Well I think I may have my sewer lines al finished being replaced today. We have so many trees with roots growing into them. I took the grandchildren to McDonalds for ice cream after school because we cant use my plumbing. I ate an m&m Mcflurry, then came home and looked at the calories & fat. Wow 620 cal.. Dinner will be light tonight! Todays workout was CTX 10,10,10 w/u & cardio, Ctx All Step cardio, then Low Max blasts with my shoe weights on. I followed this with MM lower premix, Bowflex 4 sets each leg extensions, curls leg press, and standing cable kickbacks, calves and MM st.

Terri Sorry to hear your face is still swollen. I hate dental work. I am supposed to be going to a periodontist in Oct. Not looking forwards to it at all.

Lora, when I have gotten the best results on lower body I took the exercises that seemed to produce results from different workouts and put them together. Lots of cardio also helps lean them out.

Diane Sue-Oh my periodontist yuk! So you can feel my fear right now:( So tell us what workouts you took leg exercises from. I have shapely legs but i want my saddle bags GONE. No one knows I have them as I cover them well with clothes. Actually I make a bigger deal out of them but I really would love to hear your opinion on which workouts. I bet Lora would too.

Oh my a McFlurry! Well I look at your pics and say hey if you can eat a mcflurry and look that good well more pwoer to you!
