Hardcore Rotation Checkin for Thursday Jan 26 (aka Fitness Maniacs)

Hey Everyone -

Let me know when and if you want the title changed.....I just did the above so we can see what it looks like (I'm just being my weird self).

This morning I did Power 90 Masters Cardio Intervals (it just came last night). This was a 55 minute workout with a lot of the same cardio moves Tony uses in Plyo X and other DVDs in the series. Lots of plyo's and it was so much fun that when I finally looked to see how much time was left in the workout, there was only 11 minutes left! There is about a 5 min. warm up, 5 min. cool down and 5 minute stretch at the beginning and end. I like the long stretching in this entire series. I also like that you can work them as hard or as easy as you want to depending on your needs. I pushed moderately hard today and burned 360 calories (compared to Imax 2's 400 the other day -- I think that's a pretty good one).

The other DVD that came last night (which is the last of the series) is Upper, Middle and Lower. I reviewed it last night and it is very similar to Core Synergestics in P90X. I can't do a lot of the moves in it, so it will be a hard one to figure out how to modify and get a good workout. It has tons of body weight exercises.....all different kinds of pushups (which are the biggest problem for me -- as you all know I have to do them on the wall cuz of my injury and this doesn't always allow for the best workout and sometimes can even be a bit much for my neck/shoulders).

Speaking of neck/shoulders, I'm still in a lot of pain. I hope I didn't do anything too serious to myself.

I also rec'd Yoga in the Garden of Serenity last night from Fitness Organica. I reviewed it also and I was excited cuz it is chaptered really well. It is a good, serene stretch DVD with a lot of neck stretches, torso stretches, etc. I'll probably do some of it this weekend.

Diana Sue - So you liked Plyo X, did you? I've been wanting to do that workout for a while. Maybe I'll throw it in one day next week and it will inspire me to do a P90X rotation. Although I get real sick of Tony towards the end of it. I also have to modify quite a bit, so I don't get quite the results someone like yourself would. I have to use the band and do pulldowns instead of doing pullups, cuz of my injury. I got the heaviest band they carry at BB, but I probably could use a heavier one! I don't know how the heck you can lift 75 lbs over head. That hurts my neck and shoulders just thinking about it. I have a hard enough time lifting 45 overhead and that's about as much as I think I'll ever to lift overhead with my injury.

Have great workouts everyone. I hope I can be around as much today as I was yesterday. I've got so much work to do and I really shouldn't be....but....I like talking to you ladies!

Another long one today...........shoot me!! Babbling maniac!

ETA: Darn....the title got cut off...it said "aka Fitness Maniacs".

Good Morning,

My dr. apt. got bumped up an hour, so, I won’t go into the office first thing this morning. By the time I'm done with the 2 apts I have, it will be around 1:00. I'll only have about 3½ hours to "work" on my LAST, yes.... LAST day!! :7

I like the name chosen, Hardcore Fitness Maniacs (or something like that).

Dallas, did you get your dd project done and your workout in?

Diane Sue, I like to hear how your doing using P90X also. I couldnt stick with it for anything.

Have a great day everyone! I'll be back later this afternoon.

Hello Everyone,
Today I am going to ride my airdyne}( Not sure how long I will last on that blasted thing, but I will post later. I usually just use it for warm up. Love just using the bars when I work my upper body. I just stand in front of my bike and work my arms. (learned that from Pt)

Susan I like that to "Hardcore Fitness Maniac's" to:D So what did the Dr. say?? Hope everything goes well;-)

Sabrina here is the link to that PUSH dvd with Bob they were talking about it over at VF. http://forum.videofitness.com/showthread.php?t=80591

Ok Marietta have you been keeping track??? What is our name going to be :7 Hey did you get one of your new workouts in??

Well gotta go! will be back later :D

~Nicole

Morning ladies!

Lora-Sounds like you got in a great workout. Now take a rest day!!! lol! You need to get your neck and shoulders feeling better. I am worried about you!

Susan-Let us know how your doctors appointments go. We will be waiting to hear. Woo hoo, it is your last day of work!! Are you going back after the baby is born?

Nicole-Thanks for the information on the magazine. I will have to see if I can find a copy and check out the DVD. I love Bob! Did you watch last nights show? The one family is from Peoria. Peoria is 50 minutes from me and I am there all the time. That is where I shop. I have ate at Maid Rite too!! How cool is that?

Hardcore Fitness Maniac's is fine with me too. I never did vote yesterday. Oops!

My DH brought home some Krispy Kreme donuts yesterday. Yummy! Good thing there is not one close by (yet anyway). lol

Have a great day ladies! I will be back later.

Good morning!!

This is my last day at work this week so it has to be a good day...right?

This morning I woke up a little late so I ran a few miles on my treadmill and then did some chest work. I was reviewing one of my Kelly Coffee workout...it looks pretty good...she definitely has a different style that will take some getting used to. Glad I decided to review it before attempting to the workout. I may give it a shot tomorrow and see how it goes. I'll keep you guys posted.

Lora - I hope you haven't hurt anything to badly either. Sounds like you are in a lot of pain. Might need to take a rest...I know that's a very BAD word. I'm glad you enjoy it here...because I really enjoy reading whatever you have to say long or short...keep it coming!

Nicole - Have fun on that thing!! Better you than me (smile).

Susan - Let us know about that appointment...don't rub it in your co-workers faces that this is your last day...be nice.

Sabrina - I'm so glad that donuts are no longer my weakness...used to be a long time ago, but now I don't touch them. I don't want to get hooked again...How is work going?

Looks like our new thread name is "Hardcore Fitness Maniac's Checkin". Lora...I think it's official now as I believe the majority has spoken.

Hey...where the heck it Terri? she didn't checkin at all yesterday I don't think...hope everything is cool with you Terri.

I'll be back...Hi to all that follow!

I think I'm going to get that magazine also! Y'all know how much I like Bob!

I also NEVER eat donuts, but I love them. My problem is chocolate and caramel creams. I eat 3 caramel creams a day, cuz life wouldn't be worth living without them and then there is my chocolate PROBLEM. I did good for a couple of weeks and then my boss got a gift basket with all kinds of chocolate and she doesn't like candy and gave it to me. Chocolate is like a drug for me. I crave it fiercly! Due to that fact and the fact I ate a piece of birthday cake yesterday - I'm having a hard time telling myself it's okay to take a rest day this week.....plus I have 2 doctor appts next week, so will do 2 lighter days working out.

I know what you mean about the chocolate Lora! I can't get enough of it!! I don't drink coffee, tea, or soda. I don't smoke. Chocolate is my drug of choice!! LOL!

The donuts we don't get often. They are over 1 1/2 hours away so we get them once in a while. Then I have a couple and that is it. I am suppose to watch my yeast intake since I am allergic to it.

I have my DH out in Peoria looking for that magazine now! lol He is a good sport. I hope he can find it. ;-)

Oh Sabrina I just LOVE those dougnuts. When my dad comes he will run and get them everyday:D The good old glazed kind are my favorite:7 I also enjoy those chocolate custard filled ones to.}( Oh you got me craving those things now :p

I got a little over 10 miles on my bike done (50 minutes) I took it at a medium clip, and I did not use the arms thingys, and ya know what I sweated like crazy. My pajama top was saturated:eek: I go on kicks using this bike, but I think I kill myself, and then I get the dread factor, and then I won't ride it for a while.......Today just going at a pace of 40-45 rpm's for 50 minutes........I got quite a good workout in????? I am really surprised haha. I think I am going to start riding this again:7

Lora I KNEW you would get this magazine with the dvd in it:7

Marietta can't wait to hear how you do on your first round of you new workout.

~Nicole

Good Morning ALL you fitness maniacs!! :D

Yes, I did end up getting more of a workout yesterday. However, I switched to GS-C&T because of time. My dd and I finished her timeline. We had to dig out baby, preschool, etc pictures. Thank goodness I'm digital for the boys. It will make projects so much easier!

ETA: Don't put hand lotion on before you do GS - Chest! LOL! I had to pause after 10 and put on my lifting gloves. :)

Today I did Tear it Up and still modified some of the cardio, if you can believe that. I know my foot is a not 100% right. I also did the first two sections from Ab Hits. I'm glad I got that DVD when I bought PS and Circuit Max.

ETA: I burned 357 Kcal w/TIU. I was happy with that considering I didn't want to do any lateral jumping.

Lora ~ I just saw a re-run on Oprah with that Dr. Roizen the author of The Real Age Makeover. He said you can have an ounce of dark chocolate a day!!! Milk chocolate is bad....according to him! Yippee for dark chocolate!

Sabrina ~ I saw just the beginning of BL. I thought of you when they said that family is from Peoria. I was wondering if you had been to that diner. Those poor families are so big. I can't wait to see how they look after they start training. My ds2 saw Jillian and said, "Is that you mom?" ha ha! I hope I don't look that thick! LOL!

Susan ~ YEAH! Last day for you! Can't wait to hear what the doctor says! Thanks for the links you sent. I haven't checked them out yet. I will though.:)

Marietta ~ I've previewed Kelley's DVD, but haven't done it yet either.

Nicole ~ Have you done all the TLT's? I still have SIM and EFM to try. Are these light on cardio? I had to modify TIU today! x(

Hi Terri and Diane Sue!

I'll try and check back later! It will be another busy one!

Dallas

I found the magazine! At Kroger of all places. My DH tried Borders and a Walmart Supercenter and couldn't find it. Strange. Now I need to see what is on the DVD.

Lora-What have you found out about your membership? Are you going to get another DVD? I am waiting to see what you think before I decide to try this. It is actually Bob on the DVD's? You do keep the workouts right? Sorry about all the ?'s but I want to make sure I know what I am getting.

Nicole-They have a lot of yummy donuts! lol It is surprising that I don't weigh more than I do. :D

Hi guys!

What a busy morning!
My first apt. was my weekly check-in. I now weigh 112 pounds!!
The baby is measuring small, so she had me go to Labor and Delivery for a non-stress test to check for the baby's movement. I told her he moves A LOT, but I guess she wanted proof. hahaha
Everything else went very well. Lots of paperwork. I was all over the hospital with these three things going on today. Everyone was very cheerful. I laughed all morning long.

Marietta, Terri did check in yesterday I think. But it was late, like 10pm. So, do we "officially" have a new name?

Sabrina, I will go back to work, but I'm not sure exactly when. Of course my employer will assume 6 weeks, but it probably wont be until June.

Nicole, I was asking you about your airdyne just recently (you may have left for your trip). I wondered if you still used it.

We don't have a Kripsy Cream near us, but there is a little Country store about 3 minutes from my house and they make the most delicious cider doughnuts. My gosh they are good.

I saw the Poll over at Ask Cathe about the next Road Trip. Would any of you go?

Susan C.M.
[link=http://lilypie.com][/link]

I'm going to go on the road trip!! I had a lot of fun last year! I have not voted when though because it doesn't matter to me, I will find a way to go no matter when it is! LOL

I can't believe you only weight 112 lbs Susan! WOW! I was at the 150 mark with my boys.

Susan ~ Glad everything is set? Are you nervous? 112 pounds!! You are so little! I hope we'll hear from you while you're home. I know it will be hard.

Sabrina ~ I was visiting my sister in Florida and she took me to KK. She couldn't believe I had never had one! :9 :9 :9 I'm so glad there are none by me! ;-)

Marietta ~ Will we see you over the weekend? Actually, I don't know if I'll be around. I have a baby shower Sat. and my ds's 3rd b-day Sun. I'll try and check in though.

Take care everyone!

Dallas

ETA: I would love to go on the RT. I'll have to wait and see if it's during the summer. That's probably the only time I'll be able to go, if I can.

I better cross that magazine off of the list. They are probably all Mike Monroe, right? Great (not). Oh well, I've got the Biggest Loser and my Push DVD's.

Re Push - I conversed (quite a bit) yesterday with CS from Push and they explained that they can't redo my first month. They said - even if they did - I would only get text pop up on the screen to tell me how to modify for my injury and the workout itself would not be different. I explained that I thought personalized meant more personalized than that. He said that Mike Monroe is the one who made the program and it is not for "injured" people per se. He then offered to refund my money. I asked him when I was going to be working out with weights and my medicine ball, etc. He said the system is designed over a 12 month period after month 3, you will start having weights incorporated. That is the way it is designed and it is designed to get progressively harder. For this reason and the weight work reason, I guess I have to try it for longer than 3 months. When I signed up I really only was going to do it for 3 months and cancel.....but now I have to try it a bit further, as I'm curious. However, if I do the DVDs and hate them, I'll probably cancel anyway....even though it is Bob. There's a bit more to the story....but that's in a nutshell (out of my long-winded self).

Also - re: that workout I did this morning...I just came from lunch and could hardly make it up the stairs. I guess between TLT's from yesterday and this morning's workout.....my legs are fried.

Lora-

I am thinking about looking into the program but I am not 100% sure yet. I like Bob so I think that is why. He just needs some workouts out. lol Thanks for the information!

I imagine that the DVD has just Mike on them. There is nothing on the DVD that says Mike Monroe. It just has push.tv/fitbody ---every body welcome and it also tells you where to log on for more info. I was upset that is was not Bob, especially after I paid $7.99 for the magazine. Yikes!

Hi Ladies,

I was busy with work this morning so I am checking in late. Marietta, I did check-in yesterday a couple of times :) Today I am going to do Tear it up since dallas mentioned the calorie burn she got :) That is more then I would have thought. Then I will do lowmax I think. Still deciding. :)

Susan-112 punds and pregnant...WOW
Nicole-Did you notice any difference from taking the week off your family was there?
Diane SUe-thanks for the clarification last night on pd0x.
Marietta-Enjoy your long weekend!
Sabrina-How can you be so thin and eat Kripy kreme? :)
Lora-Throw the chocolate away :) I know that is easier said then done/
Dallas-I swear you have a giant social life with all the parties and showers you have :)

Terri

Hey Ladies....just checkin back in.

I haven't been lurking to much today...since I'm not working tomorrow, I have a lot to do.

I did go run another run at lunch today...this one was a little over 5-miles. I MIGHT take a rest day tomorrow....we'll see. If I do, I will attempt the Kelly Coffey step workout on Saturday...we'll see how it goes.

Lora - You and your chocolate...you crack me up. I'm so glad that is not my weakness or I'd be in trouble. So you're gonna stick with PUSH sounds like...almost seems like you need to be a beginner to start with them...what's custom about that?? Or do I not understand something?

Terri - I will enjoy the weekend I'm sure...not really very much planned...but I'm sure I'm in store for a few surprises.

Sabrina - Sorry about the DVD...hate when I expect one thing and get something else...it sucks!!

Dallas - You are the Social Butterfly...I think I'm the total opposite. Not that I'm anti-social...just keep to myself alot. We do get together with the family at times, but because I work during the week, there are times when I just need to be alone and not be around many people. Know what I mean?

Susan - I don't think I weighed 112 pounds since I was in grade school...probably kindergarten (smile).

Nicole - Glad you enjoyed the ride...If I had one of those Airdyne thing I'd probably ride too...those are about the only stationary bikes I can stand...10 miles...you go girl!!

Diane Sue - Hi...what do you have planned for the weekend?

Take care...I'll try to show up this weekend...I really will!!

Hey Terri No I noticed no difference at all??? I think that rest week did me alot of good!! Monday I came back with gusto:7

Susan I have a LOVE/HATE relationship with my bike}( Sometimes I love it and sometimes I hate it LOL. Today was one of those love days. I am going to work it into my routine more consistently. Today I was going to just ride for 20 min., but heck I felt so good I kept on going. I did not use the arm today :D

Good evening,
Today I started with HSCh w/u and cardio, then step section of MIC, P90X Yoga followed. I like this and did much better today. It is so long though. I a feeling these workouts. I am not sure how I will work them in in March when DH is home. We are going to Cancun the first week. I am working on the nutrition plan for P90X. I think eventually I might have it down to getting some things prepared ahead. It takes along time to make these soups and stuff. I am freezing some of it. I have been really tempted to stop at Wendys for a Mandarin chicken salad or Arbys for the Marthas vineyard on. So much easier than cooking.

Lora, I really I really liked PlyoX. I hear complaints about Tony, but find him funny myself. My Bowflex lat tower is a great addition for the Pull downs. I could feel the soreness the next day, so knew I had really worked the muscles well.

Susan, 112#? I was right at 132 with all 3 of my children. I weigh 113 now. You must be a very tiny pregnant woman! I am doing the P90X rotation but I am adding a little to it. Extra cardio and abs with resistance. I think I may add in a little more legwork for my own peace of mind. Tomorrow is legs and back. Hmm

Marietta, I do not have any specific plans this weekend. I am not even sure I will have grandchildren here. I may clean out a couple of closets. DH sends things home and I keep piling it in the closet. It needs organized.

Nicole, I often feel more energized after a vacation and come back with so much more gusto.
