Hardcore Rotation Checkin for October 4 Tuesday

Morning Everyone,

This morning I did Imax 3 and modified the intervals on the rebounder (yawn!!! - sick of modifying). I also did abs from Cardio & Weights.

I got my first 2 Jillian Michaels DVDs, Shape Up Front Side and Shape Up Back Side. They look really good and I really like her, but the workouts are 30 minutes each. I don't know if I should do one workout and a half hour or 45 minutes of extra cardio or do both of them together to make it a full body circuit workout. What does everyone else think?

She's got a "tough" personality and pushes everyone pretty hard. This is one of the reason's I like her, but yet on the other hand she is a big jokester and prankster and messes with everyone in the class. I think I'm really going to enjoy these, but I have to find ways to make them longer for a more advanced workout. The workouts in themselves look very good and on the advanced side. The warmup even has some impact in it. I guess I may as well leave my rebounder in the middle of my living room floor (LOL).

The doctor also told me last night that I have crepitus in my feet (they're arthritic). I say GEEZ and I have a birthday this week, 46 years young.

Dallas - Wow, that's what my cholesterol is also ...280. I don't even touch meat or fried foods. My Mom's was 400 when she first had it done. I haven't been taking my medication, as it messes with my Irritable Bowel. The doctor and I go round and round with this. However, my good cholesterol is really good and they sort of balance each other out, so he states it's really like my total should only be 230 if you look at the entire picture.

Sabrina - I'm sorry you're in a funk. I get like that a lot, as I am a very depressed person (and a recovering addict). I know it sucks, but you should snap out of it. I will pray for you. I agree ...do something fun that you really enjoy and spoil yourself a bit.

Today I did S&H Triceps and biceps I cut it down to just doing 2 sets of everything because my dd12 wanted me to do her hair in french braids this am.:D To be honest I really liked doing 2 sets I was able to lift heavier, and it just moved WAY more quickly. I really needed this because I am kinda getting antsy to get S&H over with ha ha. Lora that is my attention order deficeit kicking in:7 I will *TRY* and add cardio in later this afternoon.

Dallas you have got me motivated today I am GOING to work on my kitchen. Sabrina come on and join me}( Dallas has been kicking butt:7 Thanks for your prayers and support:)

Good Morning All!

I just had to go walk into my pantry and enjoy the order! I hope it stays that way! My dh was amazed what I did with the Tupperware cabinet. ha ha! He said we should have done this awhile ago. I designated a drawer for all the lids and the cabinet next to it for all the bowls. Where did all this plastic stuff come from?! LOL! I think it's like Gremlins and it multiplied! hee hee

Lora ~ Yeah, my cholesterol has been as high as 321. So I guess the changes in my diet did help. I've been reading about foods that help lower it. My LDL (bad cholesterol) was 200 and my HDL (good) was 79. I had the highest reading ever for HDL, so I was quite happy with that. Thanks for the review. I probably would do them together and separate on other days. You know keep mixing it up.

Nicole ~ That's funny I get antsy with S&H too. I love that series though. Next pre-order I'm going to get PS series. I'll be working on my office today. There's one problem though my computer is in here. It's a good thing it's a laptop. I'll have to move it out so I won't be tempted.:)

Today I did KM minus the blasts. Then MM chest, but felt like I needed a little more so I did GS-chest minus the push ups and flyes (did MM p/u's and flyes) and close grip barbell press. I then did 13 minutes of stretch max 1. My lower left on my back was still hurting a little during the stretch.

Good morning everyone!

This morning I did PS Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps. I think I'm really gonna like this series. Tomorrow I will be doing Back and Biceps.

I may do a short run at lunch...

Question??? Do you have to have a body bar for the leg work in Pure Strength? I noticed one on the previews. Can I get by without it?

Lora - I don't have the workouts and I have no clue who the heck this person is, but if you have 2 workouts I would do 1/day and add the extra cardio...to give yourself something to look forward to.

Sorry about your foot...so does this mean that you will always have problems with it or is there a cure?

Exactly when is your birthday?

Nicole - I'm with you on the S&H...I lack patience with that workout. It's good but...

Lora-I am glad you go a couple Jillian workouts. You'll have to let me know how the workouts go. They sound like they are really good. I wish I would get mine soon.;( I hope your foot gets better soon. What day is your birthday?

Nicole-Sounds like you had a good workout even though you only did 2 sets of everything. What are we doing to the kitchen? The mood I am in I might tackle almost anything. I have already cleaned up the floor in the kitchen, it just needs mopped now.

Went for a long power walk last night. I think I should drive it and see exactly how long it was. I was gone for about 75 minutes. Came home to find my SIL and her family and my MIL here. DH and I were suppose to go to a concert tonight but I will be staying home. Our oldest son is at home from school not feeling well. If the concert wasn't over 2 hours away then I would go. I just cant leave him here not feeling well with my MIL for about 12 hours. I told my DH to find someone to go with him.

Lora-Does Jillians dvd's use weights with the cardio? If so what #'s does she use? Thanks for sharing with us. I read what you said about why I looked more cut after doing less for a few days. That makes sense so thanks for sharing that too!
Dallas and Nicole-I need to get busy on the 90 days book again. Dallas you have inspired me to do my office again:)
Susan-I hope you are doing well
Marietta-I wish I lived near you so I could take some of your classes!

Lora, That's great you like you new DVD's, but like Marietta said, I don't know what they contain so it's difficult to say what to add on. For me, I might do a few sets of a particular body part, such as doing four sets of 12. Have you heard of Ellite Force workouts? Those kickboxing workouts have gotten great reviews. Nicole, I'll have to get back to you on the times of each workout. I didn't calculate it yet.
I'm glad to hear Vitamin C is working well for your son! Have you ever heard of Chywanprash? This food supplement is very high in Vitamin C. The main ingredient is Amla fruit. Sabrina, sorry you're going to miss the concert. I miss a lot of things too, since it's real difficult to find a sitter.My family is not around, kids around me are too busy and I feel guilty to always ask my friends (esp. the ones who don't have kids).
75 minute walk! That's great. You should clock it, I bet it's 6 or 7 miles.

Marietta, I don't have a body bar. I use a 15 lb. db for the side plies and ankle weights for the floorwork.

Dallas, Thanks for the clothes advice. I have got to go through that closet with alllll my work clothes. It's packed full now, since the closet in my bedroom has my moo-mooo, ahem, I mean my maternity clothes in it. hahahaha

Sabrina - If you don't redo your order and check the box that says "ship as they become available", I'm afraid you're order will be held up until the end of November. I had to do this and pay extra.

Marietta - My foot fracture is still healing. He said it can take up to a year to heal totally due the fracture site and the amount of pressure placed on that part of the foot. He said we'll x-ray it in 2 months and see what it looks like then, but he can't promise when I can jump on it. He really doesn't even want me jumping on the rebounder, but he said to do what I've been, as it's working for me and the fracture site is healing nicely.

Terri - She only uses very light weights in the DVD, but since you only do 10 reps, I'll use whatever I need to max out. She doesn't use weights for the legs. There are quite a bit of plymoetrics in the workouts, so I'll be rebounding my plyos.

Dallas - My b-day is Friday, the 7th and my hubby's is the 11th. We're both Libras. I'll be 46 and he'll be 43.

Sabrina ~ Sorry about the concert. Which one was it? Hope your DS feels better really soon. It sounds like your DH's family is over quite a bit. That's nice.

Susan ~ Oh my! How did you hear about those kb DVDs? Wow, the cover of the DVD is intimidating! LOL! I saw that it got 5 stars. Thanks for sharing. I would like to get more kbox DVDs. It seems like everyone talks about Janis Saffell (SP?) here. I know that that there are a few others, but can't remember the names.

Terri ~ Which rotation did you decide to follow? Did you see any results doing Charlotte's rotation?

Marietta ~ Did you start using the PSS yet? Just wondering how you like it compared to GS?

Diane Sue ~ How is your yard work coming along? Are you doing this all by yourself? What a job?

OK, time to get busy. I have to figure how I'll keep my DS2 busy today with the office. Yesterday was easy. He snacked all day since we were in the kitchen. All good stuff, except for the pudding. I think I'll bring some toys on my floor for him.

Lora ~ I was curious about your b-day too. I was so wrapped up in your review of the DVDs finally. I wish Sabrina would get hers soon too! So, what are your big b-day plans?

I'm sitting at a very neat desk again! Yeah! Part of the reason it was so messy is because I started scrapbooking again. I had left my stuff out in hopes of doing a few pages here and there. My dh is going to want house guests every weekend! :) At least, I got the rooms done that were driving me crazy. How's the office coming along Terri? How 'bout your kitchen Nicole? My ds watched Robots on my laptop while I was cleaning. I'm so glad I thought of that.

OK, I have to go play my kids are tired of me cleaning! ha ha! Now for that laundry that has been piling up the past two days. :-( A woman's work is never done!

I swear This has been the worst last week or so. My son just called me and it seems they are laying his dept off to outsource to sinngapore! I am livid! Ok sorry just needed to vent. He has until The first part of november! What a crock...

Boy, when it rains it pours. I'm so sorry about your son and his job. Not to mention his poor girlfriend. Does he know what he's going to do yet? I'll keep him in my thoughts.

Good afternoon,
Today was I Max Extreme which I followed with I Max 2 Intervals 1&10. PS CST, Abs from ME, Bootcamp, & HSCh, St
I worked in the yard till 7 last night. I was exhausted by the time I was done.

Nicole I am still looking for the diamond from my ring. I even went through the dust cup on my vaccuum. Still looking.

Dallas I still have plants being delivered this week. I have been doing it myself. My son came over when I was close to done and mowed. I put in top soil and mulch. Replanted ground cover and put in a shrub and some flowers. I have to get more mulch and top soil.

Marrietta, on PS I always wore ankle weights on the floorwork and a broom stick for the standing work. I also held a dumbbell on my outer and inner thigh on the floorwork. This has some great floorwork.

Thanks Dallas-Oh and an update on the gf. They need to start treating those tumors and it will be tricky as they are attacthed on or near the corated artery(sp)..However they are NOT cancer so that is good news. They want to shrink them and then try surgery. I was having a hard time getting the whole story as he was upset about everything. He will call me later.

Terri - Jobs aren't like they used to be. I recently lost 2 jobs...1 due to outsourcing and 1 due to downsizing. It is definitely not fun going thru the "new job" thing when you're in your 40's. I just found out our hospital is starting the downsizing process. They just brought in an outside firm to make the cuts. I'm sweating....as this is the way I lost my job at the last hospital I worked at for 10 years. It sucks to lose all of your time invested.

Also, I just got bad news. My dear Uncle (who is my Godfather - and that's important since my real father has been dead since 1977) has been having severe weightloss and loss of appetite, as well as other problems. He had and MRI and has a spot on his liver. He had a sonogram and they made him go home and drink dye and come back for a 2nd one. It sounds like they found cancer. I'm quite upset. He just survived open heart surgery and recovered nicely and now this. He walked me down the aisle when I got married.

I'm not doing anything special for my birthday on Friday. I have to work, but we'll go to a movie a dinner on Saturday (which is the usual anyway).
 
Lora-I am so sorry to hear about your uncle. I will pray for your family! I will also pray that you don't make the cut in downsizing this time. I hope you can enjoy your bd! Have fun saturday :)

Dallas I did not get my kitchen done. Instead I had movie theatre with my dd6. We watched Beauty and the Beast enchanted Christmas. She has been on a Beauty and beast kick lately...... I read it to her every night }(

Diane Sue I know when I have lost one of my contacts (gas perm) I will take my vaccumm cleaner and cover the nozzle with a panty hose and vacumm the area that I think my contact poped out, and it works every time. I know this is a long shot, but keep that in mind?? Have you checked your car???

Nicole the vacuum cleaner idea sounds good. I did take my dust buster out to the car and vacuum then checked. I wore gas perms before I had my eye surgury. That is a really good idea. I always got colored ones so I could find them.
