Hardcore Rotation Checkin for March 12 - Saturday

Mornin' Ladies - I slept in till 3:30 am and woke up feeling rested and raring to go (think I'm anxious about my oral surgery on Monday), but today is my scheduled rest day, so I only did a section of Stretch Max and my 20 minute AM Kundalini Yoga routine. Tomorrow, I'm starting week 3 a day early and I'll be doing High Step Challenge (Yay! my favorite workout). I'm a little concerned that Tuesday I won't be able to jump around after the oral surgery...I guess I'll have to see what the doctor says. I hate doctors!

Anyway, I have a question today. I was planning out the rest of the month's rotation, and I think I'm going to do the next 2 weeks of the Fatloss rotation as planned and then for the last week of March, I'm going to do a week of muscle endurance (from weeks 3&4 of that rotation). Then I was thinking about perhaps taking a Recovery Week (which is not something I normally do) and I just wondered what everyone else is planning. ETA: Although, come to think of it, I'm going on vacation (LasVegas) at the end of April and I don't usually lift weights or do aerobics on vacation....just walk...so maybe that will be my total week of rest for April and I won't take a regular recovery week...but, I'd still like to hear what everyone's planning regarding recovery weeks.

I'll be eating Shredded Wheats & Yogurt for breakfast with a pear later in the day. Today is my cheat day, so lunch will be movie popcorn minus the butter and dinner will be Weight Watcher Salad from Applebees with a Whole Wheat Cheese Quesidilla and I'll have a small hot fudge sundae from the DQ for my cheat treat today. I'll probably also grab a handful of nuts somewhere during the day for a snack, an apple and have some Teddy Grahams.

Good morning!

I don't like to run, so I did Franny B. All out Hi/Low and segment 1 & 3 of Core Max. Have a great weekend!!

You kill me! You "slept in till 3:30AM and woke up feeling rested and raring to go"!?!? What time did you go to bed, girl? 8PM? Just teasing! Good for you! I wish I could get some rest and be "raring to go!" My 2nd week of HC ME rotation completely fell apart. I started a root canal on Wednesday (no workout); recovered from it Thursday at work, lead a Missionettes meeting (Daisies 5-6 year old girls on Thursday night 6:30-8:30) so no workout Thursday either. Friday, I'm still in pain so I had to go back to the endodontist to get my tooth "drained" (gross, I know!) So I went back home around 12:30P to let the novocaine wear off and I find my beloved JRT has been mauled by my MIL's german shepard! (My JRT's injuries are not life threatening. She'll be hospitalized over the weekend, though.) So needless to say, no workout Friday. And here it is Saturday AM and I find myself at work catching up due to all the lost time since the bottom dropped out out my week on Wednesday. Oh yeah and it's SNOWING AGAIN!!!!!! How's your weekend going!?!?

good morning all!
today's workout: doing the FLR..so I ran..4.25miles in 45mins! woohoo!! Tomorrow is musclemax and then I'm going straight into week 3 on Monday w/ no rest. I took my rest day on thursday, cuz I came down w/ a cold. Feeling better!

Lorajc: I'm gonna finish this FLR and then take a week off for recovery. I have never done this before, but then again, I've never done a rotation this intense before either! lol...Now, when I mean recovery, I am thinking maybe just some walks. Nothing intense...just something to keep my body moving, but not anywhere NEAR to what I am doing right now. I consider this recovery...what do you all think??? I would love to hear what everyone else thinks about recovery weeks? do we need them???

take care:)

Hi everyone

today--GS BSB + core max #1

Good job on the run, Gloria. I noticed that a lot of you run. I used to several years ago and I'm thinking of doing some running again. Cathe stuff is logistically easier with 5 kids right now, but with the days getting longer, I could run and hubby could watch the kids.

I am going to finish out this week and then take a rest week. Every ten weeks I take a rest week, because my body needs it and this is the tenth week. I will continue to check in with ya'll, however.

After my rest, I will probably continue with the Hardcore series for another 4 weeks and then do some Slow and Heavy and then I'm not sure--perhaps a retooled Fat loss and definition (Cathe's July 2003 rotation), substituting some of her newer stuff.

I have now lost 3 lbs in the 3 weeks that I have done this rotation based on the Gym Style workouts and the hardcore cardio stuff. I'm stoked.

Mary--what are you going to cook? I love cooking and baking--my other hobby besides working out (wierd, I know)

boy I am wordy
take care

Good afternoon,
I just finished I Max3 and Stretch Max with the band. Kim, I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with your tooth. It is just a setback though. I hope you all have a great weekend.
Diane Sue

Hi Ladies,

I had a great run outside today (66 degrees). I went 8.2 miles and then came back and did a segment of stretch max. Tomorrow I start week 3 of Strength rotation.

I am fighting a cold and plan on relaxing and resting the rest the day.

Enjoy the weekend!!

Hi everyone!

I'll do MM later today when I'm finished recovering from my hangover.

Lorajc- I don't plan on taking a recovery week any time soon. After the FLR is over, I'm going to do strength building but modify it to one body part per workout and double the workout time. EX: rather than GS Chest/triceps on Monday, I'll do GS chest only plus S&H chest, then Tuesday do GS Triceps only + S&H triceps. I'm trying to build some size so I'd rather concentrate on one part at a time. Maybe after a month of that, I'll be ready to take a week off!

It's good to see we still have so many people hanging in there and checking in! What a great bunch you all are!

Take care! :D

Hi Kim - so sorry to hear your tooth sidelined you, as well as problems in your family. I hope my upcoming oral surgery does not put me too far behind. I really like to stick to my program. I'm trying to increase my weights little by little and taking it up another notch this week. I'd hate to be sidelined by pain, but such is life. I hope you are feeling better soon. Oh, and I went to bed at 9:30 pm last night. I really don't need that much sleep - I'm a hyper person with insomnia and if I get more than 6-7 hours for a couple nights, I can't sleep at all, so I sleep deprive myself most of the time to be able to fall asleep.

Lunacat - sounds like a good plan with your workouts. I am undecided on recovery weeks right now. I don't know if I like the idea, but I really don't want all of my "non-Cathe" workouts to go to waste, so I may do them for a week every once and a while and consider that my rest weeks. I'm undecided. I wish Cathe would give us her perspective on recovery weeks. I've seen some people who believe in them and some who don't.
Keep up the good work everyone.

Hi Bevely,
It is 79 here today and we off on the motorcycle. I have been doing strength for four weeks now. I am thinking I should change it a bit. I would like to incorporate the HC Challenge workout. Glad you enjoyed your run. I love stretch max. I feel o much more relaxed after these. I hate fighting a cold. I hope you feel better.
Diane Sue

Hi Diane Sue,

How was the motorcycle ride? Sounds like fun. My husband thought about taking his out today too.

Stretch max felt really good after my run. I think I like the stability ball one the best.

79 degrees?? Wow!!

Beverly

Hi all- been sick again- this time the whole family has Strep throat so again no working out. Plan to jump back in on Monday. Can't wait for the snow to end- I'm so tired of it! I always think march is going to be so warm and Spring-like!

Anyway, have a great night all!

Jean

Hi Beverly,
We just got back from our ride. It was so much fun. I took a jacket just in case it was cold but didn't need it. We were out for over two hours. It was a lot of fun:) I think I like the stability ball stretch the most. I feel really relaxed after it. When I do this and then jump in the hot tub I am pretty much ready to go to sleep:)
Diane Sue

Hi Jean.
I hope the family is feeling better. I don't know where you live, but if March is Springlike here I am happy. It does not happen all of the time. It definitely warm today. We went for a motorcycle ride. My Hyacynths are blooming and smell so wonderful. I love Spring even though we are at a time of year that I know it may change.
Diane Sue

Well I just got done with MM a half hour ago. I really was thinking about blowing todays workout off, but then I thought it would mess with my rotation, and THE check-in. I did'nt want to let you guys down :D

Take Care,
Hope EVERYONE is having a GREAT WEEKEND.

Diane Sue I am so jealous. 79 degrees!!!
