Hardcore Rotation Checkin for April 7

Morning Ladies -

I'm on week one of the April Strength rotation. I did Gym Style Legs - floor, PLB floorwork, Coremax 2 and StretchMax 2 today. That was really a different workout for my legs. I've just mostly been doing squats and lunges, etc., so this will hopefully help me. The only reason I don't like doing workouts lying down is cuz I don't sweat and when I don't sweat, I don't feel like I've worked out hard enough. However, that being said....I'm really finding out where my weak body parts are working out on this rotation. I've got some work to do! I have noticed my body is slightly more defined since starting Cathe's workouts mid February, but I've got a long way to go, as I like the muscular appearance. The scale is holding steady at the low end of my normal weight. I've been trying really hard to eat clean, but I get soooooooooo hungry on this rotation. I had to go buy nuts at work the other day, cuz I felt like I needed protein. I'm babbling...........off to eat breakfast.

One last thing - I thought I'd share this with you ladies, as you've become a part of my life over the last month. Yesterday was my clean date, clean & sober for 18 years. My Mom bought me some chocolate to celebrate and I'm really trying to watch.....should I or shouldn't I? Anyway, I lost my father when I was 18 and it was difficult for me to handle so I got a little out of hand for a period of my life. When I got clean, I got into exercise and now exercise is a big part of my life and helps me to fight my disease of addiction, as well as my depression on a daily basis. Just thought I'd share that. (now I'm addicted to Cathe.....LOL)

Happy anniversary. You have much to be proud of...addiction touches all of our lives. I'm so a happy for you...I got choked up when I read your post.

I'm seeing more definition in my legs since beginning the HC rotations, myself. I've always had good upper body definition. As is the case with most women, it's my lower body that presents the "biggest" challenge for me! Noticing some definition is good incentive to "keep on keepin' on"!

GSCT and 20 min run is on the agenda for me today. I'll hit the weights after work and check in afterward.

Just had to send my cyber hugs to you. I'm truly happy for you. You're an inspiration.

This morning I did Rhythmic Step for a change. I felt like I needed a solid cardio workout.

You are so right Kim about addiction touches all our lives. Lora,What an accomplishment! Congradulations and Happy Anniversary!

Today was Step Blast and abs from SJP. That one is soooo much fun!

Hi Ladies,

It was a 5 mile run for me last night. I have not been feeling the greatest this week and very tired. I have only done weights one time this week. Anyway, my plan today is one of the Hardcore Extreme workouts. Probably #1. It has some weights in it.

Lorajc, Congratulations on the 18 years!! That is great... I think you deserve a chocolate!! A couple won't hurt you!!

Thanks everyone.....I was a little nervous about sharing that! I brought 3 pieces of chocolate to work .....maybe I'll splurge midday....so I can burn some of it off before bed tonight. This comin' from the girl who just had her cholesterol bloodwork drawn.

Lora, Congratulations on you 18 year Anniversary! You DO deserve a few chocolates for crying out loud! YUMMMY! I know what you mean about it seeming like you haven't really worked out unless a good sweat is broken, but I sometimes think doing "those" types of exercises is what defines muscles. I thought that about planks.

It seems everyone is doing great on their rotations. Since I'm doing some traveling, and like to work legs twice a week, I'm squeezing everything too close together I think.

Today was GS BSB. I could have gone heavier than 25lbs on bb lat pull overs, but my chest and triceps are pretty sore from working them out yesterday. However, I did increase my weight with one-arm rows. :)

Tomorrow I'll do a leg w/o (not sure which one just yet), but then I’m off again until at least Sunday. Maybe I'll bring my running sneaks and go for a run, but not nearly as long as Beverly. haha

Wow heavier than 25 pounds. What's the largest size everyone has. I only have them up to 25 pounds and I'm already using that for lats. How high do your dumbbells go? I don't know if I can afford more.
 
Hi Lora, I was referring to the barbell pullovers that are done in the workout.

The dumbbells I have at home range from 2 pounds up to 95 pounds, in 5 pound increments (w/the exception of an 8 and 12 pounder)...at yes they are all used! (not all by me, ha ha).

I've used a 35 pound db for pullovers. That's a lot of weight for someone who is barely 95 pounds.

I only have dumbbells up to 30 pounds, debating on whether I need to get some 35 and 40 pounders.

Good morning everyone , I did GS Back and core max #3 this AM . Finally made it out of bed this Am early enough before anyone was up !!! That time change is hard !!! Funny its only 1 hr LOL . Congrads on your 18 years , So have that Chocolate !!!!!!! . I'm ready for new weights too !!! :) :)

My rest day today.

Lorajc--congrats on 18 years. My hubby is coming up on his 18 year clean and sober date in May and I celebrated 15 years in February.

25 lbs is as high as I go with dumbells. I could go higher for pullovers, but I use an adjustable dumbell for this. The barbell pullovers bug my shoulder.

Good evening!

Well, better late than never. I did Gym Style Chest and Triceps. My left bicep still has a slight carry over from Monday and my legs and butt have some raging DOMS from yesterday. Lowering myself to my step bench was mildly painful (in a deeply satisfying way). I also reported that I didn't feel especially by the core workout yesterday but I have mild DOMS in my abs, too, so I guess the interval was effective. I'm really liking the strength building rotation! I also squeezed in 20 min run/walk intervals. I'm no runner but I'm gonna be!
