Cathlete
Good Morning, I am not going to workout this morning. I may do something later after I get my haircut or do a split up workout tomorrow. I was thinking if One on One Road Warrior comes tomorrow I may want to try it out LOL I think I could use some stretching. Never made the hot tub last night. Thought I was going to finish a book and fell asleep instead LOL 7 pages left!!

Suz, so are you saying that they wanted you to work on the rotator cuff??

Hermia, I love the Oikos plain greek yogurt. And the extra protein and O fat and low calories is a bonus. Funny, I like to put a few dark chocolate cips in sometimes too. I sometimes put some raisins in it as well. No, I don't have that Tracey's dvd. I have read about it on Cathe's. I may have to check it out. Amy does some balancing stuff while doing weight that is good on the Bootcamp dvd too. I probably could have burned a few more calories doing it but when dropping to the floor and coming back up with weights I kept having to stop and see how she was doing it. Got my heartrate into the upper end. My monitor was beeping like crazy:D Also I used only 8# for most till I hit the abs and butt.

Good Morning,

I just finished my workout I did KPC & MIS ab/planks from Ab Hit. I need to eat. I will tty guys later. Have a wonderful Sunday.:D

Today is my rest day. Yay! But I might to Ab RipperX. You know all my big talk about not doing abs? Well, all of your talk about doing abs and then looking at all of the pics on Bodybuilding.com makes me want a six pack. :) I'm so wishy washy! Maybe I could do abs on Sundays and one other day during the week.

So all that eating yesterday...I thought I'd weigh maybe one more pound today. I weighed 2 pounds LESS this morning!!! So now I'm back down to 109. :( What is my problem? I've never been a fluctuater. And I even drank more water yesterday. DH says it doesn't show up the next day like that. Okay, so I'll just keep moving forward with P90X and maybe I'll up my calories just a bit more. We're going to Red Lobster today but I will make healthy choices.

Speaking of which - Diane Sue - can you post your protein bar recipe - the one with the peanut butter? I just got one off of the BB website but you never know if they are good, you know? I'll post it at the end in case it's the same one.

Yes, they wanted me to work my rotator cuff. When I was going to therapy that's where a lot of my pain was coming from and they said that I had impingement. When I talked with the athletic trainer the other day, he said that with shoulder issues, you always need to work your rotator cuff to keep it strong and that people always neglect that area and that causes problems.

Teddygirl - Was that your sub for P90X cardio? Great workout!

Here's the recipe:

Homemade protein bars

5 TBLSP natural peanut butter (crunchy or creamy)
1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup oat flour (if you don't have oat flour, use another
1/2 cup of oats)
6 scoops chocolate whey protein
1 tsp vanilla
2 TBSP flax seeds (optional)
1 cup non fat dry milk
1/2 cup water (you may need more water depending on
whey protein)

Mix together dry ingredients. Add peanut butter and mix. It will be crumbly. Add water and vanilla. (Use a spatula sprayed with non stick spray) and mix completely (dough may be very sticky). Put in a greased 8x8 pan and either refrigerate or freeze until hardened. Cut into 9 squares. Wrap individually and take with you.

Suz, this one is pretty good. I make them and store them in the refrigerator. Don't get them to wet. You have to do a lot of mixing. I posted a protein cookie recipe too. Those are good post workout. I really like them a lot. In fact I bought stuff today but forgot the ricotta so have to go back to the store. Biggest problem though is what to do with the rest of the dark chocolate chips :p

Clean Eating Peanut Butter Fudge Bars
Serves 4

4 scoops chocolate protein powder
2/3 cup flax meal
4 Tablespoons natural peanut butter, unsalted
1/4 cup water
Stevia or any other clean eating approved sweetner, to taste

1. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl and stir. If sweetner is desired, choose your favorite natural sweetner. At first it may seem like it is not enough water, but keep stirring and it will eventually become a sticky blob of dough. Add 1 Tbs. water at a time as needed.
2. Divide mixture into 4 equal portions and place in separate pieces of plastic wrap, shaping them into bars. It's easier to shape them by lying plastic wrap on one side of a small caserole dish, pressing the dough into the natural shape of the dish.
3. Store the bars in the fridge or freezer. You can eat them chilled, frozen, or even right out of the bowl

Hey Maniacs!!!

Dh wanted to plant trees this morning so I am gonna do Imax 2 here soon and work abs.

Suz,

Thanks for that recipe. That sounds pretty yummy. Don't think I will be at 109 again. I am 120 today. Was 118 yesterday..must be the Halloween candy I have been sneaking into..tootsie rolls do it to me everytime.

Sonja,

Zottman Curls are like regular dumbbell curls except you twist the dumbbells when you get to shoulders so that your wrist are facing downwards on the way down. Works the shoulders some too so I always go alittle lighter with this workout.

Diane Sue,

Hope your hair turns out the way you want it. I just got mine cut a few days ago. The lady that cut it wants to workout with me now...who knows. She seems very serious about it though.

Hey Teddy!

I have to leave here in a few minutes. I need to stop and get gas. I saw it for $2.07 this morning:D Funny how that can make me happy!

Charlotte, I have been using the same hairdresser so have had pretty good luck with my haircuts lately. She stopped doing hair on Mondays though. They asked if I wanted someone else and I said no!! I will find another day that I can come in. I put all of my halloween candy under the stuff in the freezer so it would be hard as a rock. Hopefully I can resist till Halloween is over. I bought myself some muscle milk light bars and dark chocolate zone bars to help ward off the temptation should it arise:) I would like to give away some trees! Ours are huge and a nuisance to trim away from the house, caused sewerline damage from roots, and tons of leaves and acorns, seed pods, you name it. Never thought I would dislike them so much. Grass is hard to keep under them too. Sorry about the rant:eek:

Hello

Suz: Possible sub:rolleyes: I decided that this week I was going to add more to P90X routines. Tomorrow, P90X chest & back:D

I just finished watching One on One Plyo Legs with Tony, that man is strange! but you gotta luv him. There is a total of 18 exercise wait.....or 20 and they are hard. Okay, enough for now off to pick up my little client, late day today. Enjoy:D

Hey maniacs,

Went to hear my dad preach this morning. He's been retired for a long time and was filling in for a friend of his. It was good to hear him speak...he's 82. Some of my siblings were there too so I think he was happy:)

Suz and Diane Sue...thanks for posting the recipes. They look yummy. I always like to try new stuff! Diane Sue, I was excited because gas here was 2.79!

Char...I understand being leary of peopele who say they want to workout. I have a teacher who has asked me three times for advice. She starts for awhile then stops but then complains about her weight. After a while I got tired of hearing it! I hate when people give excuses! BTW...I saw pics on your cathespace....you are beautiful! :)

Diane Sue....hope you don't mind I showed your pics to my DH....had to brag about a workout friend who is a grandma and looks incredible!!!!!!!

I am waiting fo my DH to return from his bike ride then we are going to run errands and have a early dinner. Will do IMAX 2 later.

Please keep my mom in your thoughts....she had by-pass surgery a couple months ago. Her heart beat is irregular and she has to go back into the hopsital tomorrow and they are going to shock her heart.

Sonya,

Your so sweet..thank you for the compliment! Your picture rocks too! Your very defined! I have tried to help others on other ocassions with workouts in my own home. I had a lady who seemed so very interested, but she thought I was a crazy woman I guess and decided not to workout with me anymore. All we did together was PLB. She was not especially heavy, but very much out of shape and I think the intensity scared her...which is something I happen to thrive off of (I'm a Scorpio);) I do like to invite people though so if they decide they want to workout then "the door is open", but if not, then go home. :D

Anyhow, sounds like you had a nice day. Be so proud to hear my dad preach. He does sometimes to homeless people in Baltimore. My mom and dad are both missionaries.

Done with Imax 2 FINIALLY. Now I need to work abs. Need to do more of these kind of workouts...think it is great to get the blood pumping strong! Makes you feel sooooo good when your done...body feels very awake.

Hey guys!

Went to Red Lobster with my family. I had a chicken/walnut/apple/blue cheese salad. Took half home. Don't you hate it when your server is SICK??? I know they can't stay home forever, but...she hardly had a voice and you could tell she was totally sick. What do you do? Just double up on the vitamin c when you get home and for the next week!

Then DH and I came home and I wrote down stuff from a couple recipes from bodybuilder.com and from Diane Sue (thank you!) and off I went to the grocery store. Of course I had to go to 2 because I needed a bunch of stuff from Wal-Mart because they are cheaper and then since they don't have everything (like soy flour, flax seed, etc.) I had to go to a real store.

I came home and took the dogs for a walk. It was sooooooo cold with the windchill. When we left for lunch the windchill was 2 degrees out at our house. I have no idea what it was at 4:45 when I took them for a walk but we didn't go too far b/c I thought I would freeze and that Gizmo might get frostbite on his little tongue hanging out.

Char - I'm pretty sure you're solid muscle. I've seen those muscles girl! I love Imax 2. I still haven't done abs!

Diane Sue - Those cookies sound amazing! Are they wonderful? And those Muscle Milk light bars - are they good?

Teddygirl - Oh yes, tomorrow is Chest & Back again. Get ready for my whining about pullups!!! :p

Sonya - I really want to start cooking more...and better. So I'm starting to get a lot of recipes from the bodybuilding.com site. I'll keep your mom in my prayers. I'm sorry to hear about that. That's cool about your dad. My dad is an atheist and that really makes me sad. I didn't meet him until I was 30. I always wish I would have grown up with him, but then I think about that and wonder how different my life would have been, you know?

I just finished IMAX 2. You are right Char, feels so good when you're done. I hear ya about loving the intensity! A few months back I decided for fun to do a Slim Series dvd, it was way too easy...stuck in a cathe dvd and got a real workout!

Sue..haven't tried recipes from bodybuilding.com, I will check them out. I use recipes from Eating for Life, Clean Eating and Cooking Light magazines. Last year did our whole Thanksgiving dinner from CL....it was good! I don't like being cold. It's been 85 here for the past week. :) My parents adopted 10 of us. I found my birth mother about 10 years ago. VERY nice lady but since I already had a mom who I love and adore, really wasn't a connection. I did it mostly for medical history after my son was born. I know what you mean about wondering if your life would be different. But I THANK GOD for my life because I have been so blessed!

Diane Sue...how'd your hair turn out?

I have been busy getting things done since my haircut. I like the cut. It is not a lot different. I mainly had her shorten it and cut some of the layering back in. Didn't want a drastic change since I may get pictures done for dh for Christmas. I canned tomatoes and baked sweet potatoes dor grandbaby and got her some babyfooe made up to freeze into cubes.I also made those protein cookies and I used some organic oat bran flour for the whole grain pastry flour. They are yummy. I found out I am picking up my granddaughters from school tomorrow and I have grandparents day in the morning so I did a workout tonight. I would like to do some weights tomorrow but if I can't I will do it Tuesday. Workout was 3.25 miles on the treadmill on inclines form 3-12 walking and jogging, then I did Tracey Staehle's Hi/Lo Med Ball. Workout was 1 hr 44 minutes and I burned 830 calories 45% fat.

Sonya, that is such a sweet compliment. Thanks:D My Dad is sort of retired but still preaches once in awhile. He is 79. Has been helping a church out that is looking for a pastor. I am sorry to hear that about your mother. I will keep her in my prayers. It is interesting hearing you talk about being adopted. My dd is working on adopting a baby. It will be a semi open adoption. The mother will know who my dd and her husband are. She just did a scrapbook for whoever the mother will be. They can correspond throught the hospital and the mother can leave presents for the baby and letters.

Suz, I like those cookies and bars. I have a couple of others that I tried but wasn't real impressed. Yes, the Muscle Milk light bars are good. I usually have to put them in the fridge though because when I open them they are kind of gooey with caramel running out. I like the toffee crunch ones better than the peanut ones but they are both good. I usually pick them up at Target. That is too bad your server was sick. I had a guy waiting on me at Walmart the other day that was coughing and hoarse and kept trying to get sips of bottled water between customers. I hated having him handle my stuff. I kept thinking this is how we pick up those viruses.

Charlotte, I did I Max 2 the other day. It has been quite awhile since I used the I Maxes. I did the blast mania and then went back and did four of the combos. Great workout and I always feel like I really accomplished something when I am done:D
