Saturday, I did a cardio and weights workout full body, 45 minutes, 164 calories, heart rate 100/141. Yesterday we went to see my new great grandbaby:D Today I did CDorner Step 80's and 90's music, first half adding on the stretch, 31 minutes, heart rate 123/157, 2,358 steps. I spent too much time outdoors trying to remove snow off the patio, so the dog and I do not slip when we are in and out. Unfortunately our snow shovel went out to my daughter's garage. No one has one available. We thought we would stop at Tractor supply to get one when visiting grandbaby, but my son said he was already there and all of the snow stuff was gone. Hopefully I can get in some weight workout tomorrow. They changed my dentist appointment to tomorrow.

Belinda, nice work on the Gym Style workouts. You are lucky that Costco was not busy and they had everything that you need. I ordered laundry soap and paper goods and won't get them till Thursday.

Roselyn, good job on quads.

Debbie, great job on Iron 13 posterior chain. It looks like a good workout. We got quite a lot of snow here. I have to bundle up in layers, boots, and a hat when I take the dog out to play and still in cold.

I'm back everyone!!! On Friday I went out and got my mom out of the nursing home and back home where she belongs! I have hired a caregiver for my parents for 4 hours per day, seven days a week and she is amazing! I am now off the hook for most things on a day-to-day basis and that is going to give me time to get back to my workouts and take care of myself. My dad is doing not so well, his cancer kicked up while under all of this stress and I am not sure how long he will be with us, but you never know! He kicked it once maybe he can do it again. He turns 93 in May so he has lived a long and wonderful life. This is the only way I can get through it is by celebrating their lives not that the end is near.

Today I did a total body workout that I put together just to ease myself back into lifting weights and not hurting myself. I took it easy and I feel so good! I did a total body circuit 3 times around and did the first set x 16 reps, second set, x 16 reps and the last set x 12 reps except for legs and ABS.

Chest Press- 17's x 16, x 16, x 12 for all exercises
Chest Flys- 12's
1 Arm Rows- 17#
Wide Grip Pull Downs- 50#
Seated Overhead Shoulder Press- 12's
Lateral Raises- 8's
Bicep Curls- 12's
Hammer Curls- 12's
Lying Triceps Ext.- 10's
Kickbacks- 8's
BW Squats- 3 sets of 25 reps
Front Squats heels elevated- 5's x 20 x 20 x 20
Lying Leg Lifts- x 20 x 16
Crunch with alternating legs- 5# x 20, x 20

If feels so good to do something other than walking. I have missed my workouts so much and I can see it in my physique. I am now looking skinny fat!

Great job on all of the workouts everyone! I need to go back and read the posts and catch up with everyone.

Have a great day. 70 degrees here today and the other side of the country has been freezing cold! Crazy.

Wow, what is it with all the leg workouts that Caroline does? Today was mostly leg work again. It sort of felt like I did yesterday's workout twice. BUT... I loved it!! I hate working my legs, but they really need it and she is pushing me out of my comfort zone and I am getting it done. This was a fun workout and I am really enjoying this series. But she is Crazy!!

This morning I did Iron 14 - Unilateral Training Full Body Workout

Alternating Chest Press: 20's - 2 sets
Static Lunges: 20's - R/L
Alternating Rear Step Lunge: 15's (R/L) - 2 sets
Single Arm Renegade Row: 30# (I did single arm Gorilla Row) (R/L)
Double Arm Renegade Row: 30's (I did Gorilla Rows)
Bulgarian Lunges: 20# (R/L)
Forward Leaning Bulgarian Lunges w/Pause: 20# (R/L)
Single Arm Arnold Press: 12# (R/L)
Clean to Single Arm Arnold Press: 12# (R/L)
Squat to Lunge: 20# (R/L)
Squat to Lunge: Body weight (R/L)

Finisher:
30/30 - 20 seconds rest - 30/30
1/2 rep Bulgarian Lunges: Body Weight
Uneven Pushups: Used yoga block and did on my knees

KILLER!! Wow, these are some great workouts. I need to start upping the weights a bit. I did a little with legs where I went up to 20's. I need to start adding weight to my shoulder work but always worried about injury.

Workout with warmup and stretching was 45 minutes, burned 220 calories and HR was 105/140.

Belinda - Great job with Chest and Tri's. Love the Gym Style series!

Roselyn - Great workout!

Diane - Awww! So glad you were able to see your new great grandbaby. Wow, GREAT grandbaby! Where does the time go? We are still shoveling out of the snow we got Sunday but I was able to come to work today. Crazy winter for sure, we haven't seen the likes of this kind of weather since the 1970's. Great job with your cardio workout!

Jolie - Glad to see you're back! I'm glad you were able to get your mom some help on a day to day basis. I'm sure that is a load off your mind. I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. My mom hasn't been doing really well lately either, she will be 89 in July. I just keep telling myself she has lived a great life but it still makes me want to cry that I know her days are numbered. She keeps telling us she is ready to go. Funny thing is, she isn't even sick or anything. She just has a hard time walking now and her eye site is almost gone. :( She feels helpless and is frustrated that she can't help us do anything. I tell her she's being silly but I sort of understand it too. :( Great job with your workout!

Have a great day everyone!! 14 degrees here, -2 with the wind chill.

Today I did a CDorner Lower body workout no squats of lunges, followed by Upper Back and Biceps, 54 minutes, 226 calories, heart rate 105/ 148. Lower Body was mostly fabric loops and tubing. Upper was 6 moves done 3 times and ending with some tubing rows. I had a dentist appointment so that is all I had time for.

Upper Back and Biceps
lat pulldowns in front tubing
twisting curls 12# dbs
reverse fly medium tubing
curl with an iso-hold/hold/1 1/2 12# dbs/10# dbs/10# dbs
floor pull over 8# dbs
Lying biceps curls tubing
repeat 2 more times

Jolie, good job on the workout. I am glad you were able to get your mom home and a caregiver to drop in for a while. I am sorry your Dad is not doing well. It is hard watching parents decline. I will still be praying for them.

Debbie, great job on Iron 14 Unilateral training. I like unilateral workouts. It does seem strange having 2 great grandchildren and another on the way. Our family just keeps growing. It seems odd that my daughter and daughter in law are grandmothers.

Today I did RAW Kickboxing #5 and had a great workout. I like that one but Kelly acts silly in it. LOL! I really wish she'd put out some new stuff, I'm wondering what is going on with her? Is she doing a new workout set for DVD's or something? It's odd that she just stopped making videos once she put them on Youtube. She only made like three since.

I also did a Caroline Girvin Ab workout - 10 minute Twisted Abs which was really hard for me. i haven't worked my abs in a while, I need to start doing them more. I did most of it but skipped the plank work and mountain climbers. She is a beast.

Total workout was 49 minutes, burned 328 calories, did 4332 steps and HR was 123/161. Couldn't get my HR up much this morning. I was freezing so that might be why.

Diane - Nice job on your workout! Yes, your family certainly is growing! I don't have grand kids yet but I'm sure it's coming! LOL!

Have a great day everyone!!

Hi,

Today I did CL#575 Upper Body and Core Fusion and a short foam roller Pilates.

I have PT this afternoon.

Debbie - great job on your KB workout this morning.

Jolie - sorry to hear about your dad. Happy you found a solution to take care of your mom.

Diane - nice job on your LB and UB workout today. Good luck with your appointment today.

I have to get ready for PT.

BBL

Jolie sorry to hear about your dad, but he sounds like he’s a tough and I’m glad you found a solution to help with your parents. It’s so hard as they age.

Today I did a trampoline workout. Yesterday was back and biceps.

No workout for me today. It's my DH's birthday and I didn't want to make him have to get up early. I'm sore all over anyways, so I need the break. Caroline is killing me.

Have a great workout everyone!

Hi,

Today was live zoom dancing plus a nice hip opener stretch.

My PT yesterday went well. Once I showed her the MRI report about the tear in my hip, she was why don’t they do surgery? She had the same thing happened to her a few years ago, except her doctor did the surgery. She doesn’t think she can help me much with the tear in my hip/hamstring. She said she will try to see if I get some relieve. She had doubts. She did gave me 4 hip strengthening exercises to strengthen the muscle around the hip 2 times a day/12 reps. Nothing too crazy. She said if I am hurting to stop what I am doing. She was against the shot in my hip, since it will not repair the tear. It’s just temporary fix. I will get a hold of my doctor and see what he thinks. I got logged out of my heath portal :(

Debbie - happy birthday to your husband. Enjoy your day!!

Have a great day and workout.

What a beautiful week of weather we are having, and I am taking full advantage of it and getting outside for some great walks. It is 78 degrees today and will be 80 degrees all weekend. I have been in shorts, and a tank top all week, it is January for God's sake! Anyway, this week was a lot of walking since I was so sore from my last weight workout. Tomorrow I will do another weight workout and hopefully will not be as sore as before. I just cleaned my gym room since my son is out of town for the weekend. I am going to work out in it for the first time in a while and I am looking forward to it. I love my pull-down machine for back, I miss using it lately.

My dad is starting to feel better, the cancer drug is starting to wear off, and the side effects are subsiding a lot. His Hematologist told him yesterday to go to Hospice, and he told her that he was going to go golfing and then to the bar! No way is my dad going into hospice! He is going out on his terms, and it will be better than whatever the doctors come up with. All is natural supplements have kept him a live almost 2 years longer than they said he would live with traditional therapies. I love that he stands up for himself at 92 years young.

Great job on the workouts everyone.

Debbie, dang girl, you have been killing it with the workouts. I wish I could do more leg workouts; my knees would be screaming if I did what you do. I love doing one body part per day, but I never seem to have the time anymore! I should walk each morning with the dog and then do one body part for 15 minutes or so when I get back home.

Belinda, I wonder why they are not addressing the tear surgically. Hang in there, you always get through whatever comes your way!

Have a great weekend everyone. I plan on working out in this fabulous weather!

No workout yesterday as my husband had a fall backwards on the ice and we had to get an x ray. He did not break anything so that is good and he held his head up to avoid smacking his head. Today I did CDorner Cardio party with warm up, 47 minutes, 221 calories and Lauren osteoporosis friendly mobility stretch 11 minutes, 39 calories. Total time 260 calories, 58 minutes. Yesterday I shoveled snow and ice so think I sort of got a workout in.

Hi,

Today I had PT and I did Pilates UB with the small ball. PT went well, learned a lot. She is working with me on pelvic floor. For the tear they can do anything. She showed me gentle stretches instead of figure 8, which is impossible for me to do. She also wants me to stop doing LB weight training to relax my hip. She wants me to do only Pilates and walking for now. It’s too cold to walk outside, lol. Hip is hurting from PT today.

Jolie - good question? He probably is following protocol. He also said the tear is small. I have a partial tear. I can’t lift my right leg off the floor. Eventually I need surgery. The question is when. Glad your dad is feeling better. Good for him to go on his own terms. Great job on your workouts. Send some of your weather my way.

Diane - so sorry to hear about your DH’s fall, glad he didn’t break anything. Great job on your workouts and shoveling snow.

Good night.

Today I managed to get in a 16 minute upper body workout using mostly 10# dbs except for lateral raises which I used 8's for. This was 70 calories and I followed with an upper body mobility stretch osteoporosis friendly with no twisting or rounding the back, 19 minutes, 63 calories. Total time 35 minutes, 133 calories. I had to get the house ready for a showing. I am going to be busy as Sunday I need to empty the freezer side of my refrigerator for a repair and another house showing on Monday. I doubt I get anything in on Monday.

Jolie, that is great that your Dad is feeling better and stands up for himself and his healthcare. It is great that you are getting lots of walking in and some weight training again.

Belinda, I hope the PT can help you. It makes sense to stop the lower weight work. It might give the tear time to heal. It is cold here too, but I think we have some warm weather coming in. I do not enjoy going outside and I have been out in the cold a lot.

Debbie, great job on Iron 15 Shoulders. You are getting in some great workouts. I hope you had a pleasant day celebrating your husband's birthday.
