Today, is going to be my rest day :rolleyes: I been up since 8am can't believe I slept that long:D I 'm going to Richmond Mall, shortly and I need to call my Dentist, I think I have a appointment at 11am . Have a great day everyone:rolleyes:

Today I am just gonna work shoulders. Body is sore and Auntie has paid a visit now.

Workout is done. Workout time was 1 hr 14 minutes and I burned 615 calories.
I started with the treadmill for a warm up and went 1.25 miles burned 138 calories, then I did Lauren Brooks Kettlebell 40 minute workout using 15, 20, and 25 lb unintelligent bells. I burned 382 calories doing this. I added a set of 20 hanging leg raises to this and during the 1 minutes rests I did segments of Total Body Solution shoulders so I did not waste time, then finished with Amy Bento's Rumble stretch with 3 pound unintelligent bells. I liked Lauren's workout. It really gets your heartrate up there during the second half.
Got to shower and get to the bank before it closes. BBL

Charlotte, I know you will get in a killer shoulder workout.

Good Morning! Today's plan (and you know how those can change) is a mountain bike ride with dh. Hopefully we will avoid any mud...not in the mood for mud today. Then it's pretty much a watch football day, gonna be some good ones on. I'll do some much needed house cleaning whilst I watch.:)

Diane Sue- What in the world are unintelligent bells? I didn't know they had brains or even a lack of brains like yours have.:p

Toast- have fun with shoulders today. I'm sure you'll hurt em good!

Teddy- Have fun at the mall today! Buy something fun!
 
This morning I did my last workout for a week. Woo hoo! I did Gym Style Shoulders and even though this is a very short workout, I had a good one.

SHOULDERS
Overhead Dumbbell Press:
20's - 3 sets/10 reps 2/2 ct.
***Could only stay with the 2/2 count until rep 8, the I had to go to singles.

Standing Lateral Raise:
12's - 2 sets/10 reps 2/2 ct.

Standing Lateral Raise w/Band:
Green band tons of reps & pulses.

Dumbbell Rear Flies:
15's - 2 sets of different cnts.

Rear Delt Flies w/Band:
Purple Band tons of reps and pulses.

That is all....

Morning Maniacs!

I told you today was happy news! Well, last night DH bought me a 40 inch Sony flat screen tv for my workout room!!! Is he the bomb or what??? I currently have a big tv in there but it's old and well...old. The sound is starting to go. And it sits on this huge entertainment center and everything is just a mess. So we're rearranging my whole workout room b/c the tv will be on a different wall. He's going to mount the tv on the wall. He bought a wall mount so the tv can swivel depending on what piece of equipment I'm on. And the way the room will be set up I can host the cycling club for indoor Spinervals workouts if I want to in the winter (some people do this). DH has everything hooked up to the stereo as it is so I always have the sound cranked up really loud. The room is unfinished but I kinda like it that way. More hardcore - except for the colorful mats. I was going to turn them so that the black side was up but I'm afraid it would show Amber's dog hair more. :) I vacuum it a lot but she loves to hang out with me when I'm working out.

I'll either do my cardio later when we're finished, or if it takes all day, today will be my rest day and I'll do cardio tomorrow. I can't wait to work out in my new gym! Today is the cycling club's turkey ride but the wind picked up so I decided not to do it. It's actually 57 degrees, but you know how much I LOVE riding in the wind! And I'd much rather work on my workout room. :)

Debbie - Congrats on your final workout for the week. Great job! Enjoy your rest.

Teddygirl - Dentist on a Saturday? Ick!

Diane Sue - So you really like the kettlebells? How would you say they differ from regular weights? Can you buy brains for them? :p

Dallys - I hope you have a non-muddy ride. I hope DH and I do more mountain biking next year. Once again I'm going to try to have more balance. His mountain bike buddy is doing police work in Afghanistan for a year so he might take me more often. :)

Toasty - I know you'll fry those shoulders. I hope your lovely aunt is kind to you.

Morning! Didn't get to post my workout from yesterday. My girlfriend , who I have been frineds with since 7th grade, her daughter had her sweet 16! Anyways, had a great UB w/out! I started with doing Push and Pull but 30 minutes into it I was thinking I am not getting much out of this so for the next hour did my own thing.

I got my errands run. DD and family came by and we went to an event my dil had a booth set up for at a Jobs Daughters event. I bought some homemade gourmet stuff. The Cranberry Pasta salad mix sounds yummy. The woman there said she gets smoked turkey from a local deli and puts in it. I think that is what I will do. Either that or I will just run off with some of the turkey when I got to my sons on Thanksgiving:D I also bought a cinnamon cream squash soup mix. I am going to see if I can come up with another recipe though or make up something. Not sure about stirring whipped topping into it. Maybe it would be good that way though. I have used some other soup mixes of theirs before and modified the recipes for a healthy soup and they were yummy.

Dallys, I have been hanging with Bill a few years so pick up some things from him:D . He is such a clown. Don't you ever wonder where they go there name?? And I never thought kettlebells looked like bells either. They should be kettle balls. Then again where did kettle come from?

Suz, that is so sweet of your dh. I bet you will have fun with it all reorganized. I have done that when I got a new peice of equipment and it felt like a whole new space. I should mount mine on the wall. But, the thing is I have a corner stand and it holds a vcr, second 5 disc changer, and stereo so I would still have to deal with those. But it would be better for viewing. Especially when on the treadmill. Yes, I am liking the kettlebells. They are different than working with weights. As I am picking up on the moves and doing the workouts I can really feel the difference. Todays workout got my hr up there and I wasn't doing tons of high impact stuff. I was worried about the shoulders with the swings but I think if you watch all of the instructions and really work at it you won't hurt yourself. For one thing on the swings they tell you to concentrate on contracting the lats more. Also you use the hips and legs for most of the swing. It seems the arms just go along with it. You would have to try it to see what I mean. I think I really want to get art of strength providence dvd. These look like they would be good.

Debbie, what are you doing after the break?? Do you have a rotation set up?
