Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for week of 8/13

Today I did Bryan Kest's Energize. Still can't hold all the poses as long as they do in this workout, especially in the beginning. When my muscles aren't warm I can't hold Down Dog like they do. Geez, the first few minutes is holding that pose or what seems like forever. My back definitely doesn't like that too much. But as I continue with the workout it gets easier. I love this workout and I feel really good right now.

The knot in my trap area went away this weekend, I hope it doesn't come back now that I've done this workout again.

This morning I did Body Beast Legs 39 min, 274 calories. I then did Cardio Supersets step express premix 32 min, 242 calories, max hr 156. I finished with Tony's One on One Patience is a Hummingbird yoga, 35 min, 144 calories. I had a 3 day break and went to visit my Dad so was more than ready to do my workout. I upped some weights now that I know what to expect from this phase of the Beast workouts. Total time was 1 hr 46 min and calories burned was 650.
Body Beast Legs
single sets
sumo squat 15 reps/ 20#; 12 reps/ 30#; 8 reps/45#; 8 reps 30#
super set
alternating lunge 15 reps 20's#; 12 reps 22.5's# ; 8 reps 25's#
step up to reverse lunge 15 reps left then right 20's#, 12 reps 22.5's#; 8 reps 25's
(I did not increase here because by the time you do both legs that many reps and no break I am beat)
Giant set
parallel squat 15 reps/ 25's; 12 reps/30's; 8 reps/40's
bulgarian squats 15 reps right then 15 left/ 25's, 12 reps/30's; 8 reps/35's
straight leg deadlift with the ez bar 15 reps right then 15 left/36#; 12 reps/46#; 8 reps 51#
Giant set
single leg calf raise 30 sec right then 30 left /35#; 30 sec L & R 40#
seated calf raise 30 sec 35's; 30 sec 40's
in and outs 30 sec each giant set (22 reps)

Debbie, I hope the pain doesn't come back too. The Tony One on One I did today is fairly slow paced, it has some balances but, I find it seems a little more relaxed and not so taxing. He doesn't do crane, wheel, and some of the tough poses he does in his other workouts.

Hey Guys :)

No.......I haven't fallen off the planet:cool: Friday FINALLY got that nasty water problem FIXED, gee!!! Lots of work, it was costely. Saturday, cleaned basement took out mess:eek: Sunday, ended up baby sitting my GD she will be 1yrs old this month. Monday, TIRED.

Now, here's what I plan, with Cathe starting to get bored so onto p90X need change of paces.

Debbie: nice work. I'm glad the pain has gone. In time you'll be back lifting heavy:)

Diane: I was just looking at these workout, okay final question how are these workouts different from P90x? Are you bulking up? I'm really not sure about these workouts. I keep filling out the info to set up 3 payment and then.....well you know.....I close browers. Anywho, nice leg workout:).

To The Max extreme today!!

Diane Sue, I have been eyeing Beast workouts and they show men on them,do women do these in the dvds and what is the trainer's name? Want to make sure I am looking at the right dvds. But sounds interesting.

Teddy, there are only men in the workouts. Women are doing them though. Saji did an interview in the last Beachbody Newsletter and explains what it can do for women. Here is a link, Update Name
You will have to scroll down to where it says the Beast is here. I am really liking it. I am doing the lean program and am in the build phase. Next will be the bulk phase, then the beast phase. The instructor is Saji Kalev. It is a weight program. A lot would depend on how heavy you lift and if you do cardio with it which would probably keep you from getting really big. It has different training principles than P90X. It is strictly weight training. Even cardio beast has a strength component to it. I hear Total Body has some cardio effect to it as well. The training principles change up from things like super sets, giant sets, tempo training, force sets, progressive sets. I think they called it Dynamic set training.
Glad that you got your plumbing fixed. Those things are miserable to deal with.

Today I had a puke status workout. I chose one of my Cardio Coach mixes and really did will with it. At one point my HR got up to 175 bpm which is unheard of. I only hit the 170's when I did IMAX 3. So I know I really kicked butt today.

CARDIO STATS:
45 minutes total
3 minutes below zone
14 minutes in zone
29 minute above zone
397 calories burned
2.3 miles traveled

Diane Sue - Which Yoga workout did you do yesterday? The one from the new P90X?

Hey Guys:)

No workout this morning, but I promise its' going down tonight;) Last night, I watched Insanity a yr or so ago I found on google this awesome rotation P90X - Insanity Hybrid Workout Schedule. I was thinking to start this moring with Insanity fit test. I check in this evening.

Diane: Yeah, me going to order Body Beast today, freaking OOUCH:cool:

ADD ON.............................................................

Diane: I'm confused. I called BB to places my order. They wasn’t sure what Lucky 7 is. Okay, so you ordered Huge Stack DVD's which comes with the 2 Tempo workouts, right? Huge costly differences for me; but I know you get the protein powder and fuel shots. I told her I have to think about this, bc, its’ costly I was doing the 3 payment 29.90 but...would love to have the tempo workouts, hm....

What is Lucky 7?

I have to run so this will be quick. I will come back later and post weights. I did Beast Back and Bis this morning 50:04 min.. 267 calories. I upped a few weights but not many on this one. In fact I lowered on the lowered on the 1,1,2 hammer curl Really you are doing 45 reps becasue 3 is counted as 1 for the 15 reps. I should have known when Saji started with 15's that and said to go light. I followed this with Shiva Rea More Daily Energy Solar evolution flow yoga 20 min, 83 calories. I wanted to do P90X2 yoga but no time.

Teddy, I did not get the supplements with the workouts. I ordered the basic workout set, then I went to a Beach body coach and ordered the tempo workouts. I purchased from totalfitness.com and she is a coach. You get lucky 7 free ordering from a coach. It is a quick weight circuit to use to fill in if you miss a workout or don't have that much time. did get some creatine at Walmart and I am using Myofusion whey. I have thought about getting the fuel shot but just haven't.

Debbie, I did Patience is a Hummingbird with Tony Horton. It is one of his One on One workouts. It was from the One on One Volume 2 set.

Diane, thanks again ordered from Total Fitness and yes getting the 2 Tempo workouts and Lucky 7 for free.

Today was Cathe's Yoga Relax workout. I'm actually able to do all the poses and hold them as long as she does. The poses aren't hard on this one but there were a few I had a difficult time getting into. So I'm seeing improvements. I'm surprised at how sore my butt muscles are. With every yoga workout I've done, whether it's power or just relax, my glutes and hamstrings get really sore. I can tell they are still super tight but slowly getting better.

I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm looking forward to doing Press Play tomorrow.

My workout this morning was Beast Cardio, 30 min, max hr 160, 208calories. I then did Bewast abs 11 min, using 10# dumbbell, 57 calories. I wanted more abs so did Ab Circuits Stability ball abs 20 min, 83 calories. I finished off with budokon flow and flexibiity skipping the meditations and the spinal warm up, 39 min, 164 calories. I have been wanting to get these out again. I love the yoga and martial arts moves. Total time was 1 hr 40 min, calorie total 567.

Debbie, that is great that you are seeing improvement. I know you will continue to see it. Good work.

Hey Guys,

I'm late, busy here at work since I walked in. This morning, I did CC #8, love this workout. I should have BB friday, got an email it was sent out today. Anywho, need to finish up here so I can leave really lovely out going to ride a bit this evening.

Today I did Cardio Coach #8.

Holy crap, I forgot how hard this workout is. I've only done it one time in the past and didn't really care for it. I didn't really care for it this time either, but I did really well with it. This is the workout with 2 - 8 minute treks in it. I did both the 8 minutes treks as a jog. It was actually pretty fun. My breathing was perfect and I felt really good throughout this entire workout.

I still can't believe Sean is gone. He is so motivating in this workout. I was really looking forward to many more workouts from that talented man. Such a shame.

CARDIO STATS:
65 minutes total
3 minutes below zone
16 minutes in zone
47 minutes above zone
573 calories burned

Teddygirl - We did the same workout! That's a tough one, isn't it?

Teddy, I am doing a little more cardio than than the 1 and am adding in flexibility workouts and extra abs. On the final phase(block) which is 4 weeks he does Beast cardio and abs twice on two of the alternating weeks. I heard the workouts are shorter on the other blocks so I know I would have to do something else. Today I wanted more cardio because I ate this salad at Chili's last night and when I got home and checked it was loaded with fat. I felt I needed to burn some of that off. I should have got salmon and broccoli or something.

Debbie, great calorie burn:D
