Morning Maniacs -

I had to get up early today....was tough to get out of bed. I work open to close 2 days in a row again this week. I didn't have a very good workout this morning. Have a horrid migraine and my shoulders are killing me.

I did Kelly's new Muscle Definition - workout 1 followed by the Biceps only premix and abs. I stretched a little on my own, but not nearly enough. Workout was a bit over an hour and I burned 420 calories.

Have great workouts everyone.

Well, I'm back at work today. :( Geez, it sucks that I can't take an entire week off. I really need to get the hell out of here. I've applied to many, many jobs, but haven't received one phone call as of yet. Very frustrating.

Today I did yoga and chose Bryan Kest's Power Yoga Energize. Had a great workout. Some of the poses were really hard for me to do this morning, my body is really tight again.

Morning Maniacs-
Yesterday was cardio. I did not feel up to plyometrics so I did kickbox surge combo's 1,2,& 4 and surges 4,3, & 2. Then I felt pretty good so I did a 25 min run/walk on the tm. I did 2-3 min run/walk and 4-1.5 min run/walks. Total travel was 1.88 mi and I burned 833 calories.

This morning I got up and did p90x shoulder and arms. I shortened up the rest times and stopped listening to him ramble. Workout was 28 min and I burned 281 calories. I am going to run with my sister this afternnon and do abs.

I finished my workout. No grandchildren showed up so I did a little longer stretch. I looked again at the premixes on Kelly's Cardio blast and decided to do each workout separately because I didn't want to miss anything

So I started with the athletic step workout which was 35 minutes with w/up and stretch. I burned 284 calories. Then I did the Plyometric workout which was 37 minutes with a 6 minutes w/up cardio was 28 minutes. and burned 330 calories Max hr was 158. Near the end I started extending the reps because Kelly takes a break between each set and I felt it was a little long. But I really did love these workouts a lot. I then did 30 minute to Fitness muscle definition abs segment 11 minutes(Idon't think this is the same as core work done in the 30 minutes segments) This had my abs burning and did a lot of lower abdominal area work. I followed with 50 kneeling crunches with my superband and door attachment facing away from the door, and went on to do STS no equipment abs and Amy's 10 minute solution 5 day get fit abs(I love the standing portion of this one. the moves remind me of kettlebell swings only you are using a dumbbell)
I finished with the 5 Day Fit Power Yoga segment then did some of the foam roller/stretch moves from Muscle and Fitness Hers Apr/May issue:
thoracic roll and spinal extension, glute roll and figure 4 stretch, hamstirng roll and stretch, IT band roll and stretch. Total calories burned today was 1002.

Hey Maniacs! How ya all doing? It has been a while but I have been busy, busy. I've checked in a few times over the past months but with the time zone I think only Diane Sue was still awake :p

Just wanted to share with you that I am training with Olesya again....but this time for my first Figure Competition! The comp is the NPC San Francisco Championship on October 10th...only 4 weeks out! I'm excited and nervous.

Attached a few pics of my progress over the past 8 weeks.

Oh, and Olesya has a new website FitGirlWorld.com Pretty cool, check it out.

Hope everyone is doing well. I will let you know the outcome of the comp.

This morning was Tracy's StrikeZone. Workout was 1:00 and burned 445 calories.

Diane Sue - Any thoughts on Meso 3 and if I should do Plyo Legs or Squat Rack Legs?

Linda - I can't figure out which one I want to do either. I'm thinking plyo, but my knee hurts so I'm kind of worried about that.

Nice calorie burn with SZ!

I am thinking I want to do Plyo also. I mean I do Squat Rack exercises all the time, it should be fun to do something different. And I wouldn't mind my legs being a bit leaner and I am hoping Plyo might do that.

That's what I was thinking too. I'll have to watch the workouts to see how they are. I haven't previewed them yet.

I went to Kohl''s to pick up some things for dh and boy did I go shopping:p I thought I needed some new clothes too:D

Sonya, your progress pictures are great! Good luck with the competition. I have checked out Olyesa's site. There is quite a bit of information there. I don't notice her on Muscle With Attitude anymore. Did she quit going there? I stay up way to late a lot of the time and am up at 4:30 am most mornings LOL I could probably use trying to get some rest.

Linda, I would say it depends on what you want. I ended up working it so I could do both by just extending my time with STS. The rack exercises are basic heavy low rep moves. I hate front squats because it bothers my elbows to hold the bar in front. I used the Bowflex for some of them when I did it but that was uncomfortable. Mostly I just wore a 20# vest with my weighted gloves and went a little lower with the bar. I think Plyo legs is a great way to lean out the legs and get some definition to show. I think it is my favorite workout in this series.

Linda, I think it would depend on what you want to gain from the workouts. The Squat Rack legs is a very basic workout with heavy weights and low reps. I did both just adding an extra month to STS but using whatever I wanted for upper and then plyo legs. I am not sure where I want to go this time. I hate front squats. It hurts my elbows holding the barbell up like that. I tried with the Bowflex which was sort of uncomfortable till I found the right weight. Part of the time I just wore a weight vest (20#) ane my weighted gloves then a lower weight barbell. It is not that my legs can't do it, it is my upper holding the bar. I don't even think the rack would help with that. I love Plyo legs. This would be a good one to get some definition going. JMO.

Sonya, you look great. You have really got the muscle definition going well. Good luck with the competition. You will have to let us know how it goes. Thanks for posting the pictures. Would love to know what you are doing, but then I guess that would give away what Olesya is having you do. Yes, I am up way to late and get up at 4:30 am most mornings. I really should work on getting some rest.
