Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Wed Sept 6

Adri - Honestly I don't know what level my sd was at. She just did it mostly for cheerleading and we sent her to a gymnastics class for a few years. I don't think they ever classified her and if they did she never told me. Interesting stuff, thanks for sharing. So you are only 15, right? You know a lot about fitness for someone so young. :)

Diane Sue - EXCELLENT workout! You go on those deadlifts. Wow! And how on earth did you do that leg workout AFTER running 5 miles? Good Lord woman! You simply amaze me!
 
funnily enough, the club where I am not teaching is connected to the place where they're holding "American Idol" auditions here in downtown Minneapolis. The wannabes started lining up last night.

O.k. I am done with workout.

This is what I did today:

3 sets/12 reps/tried to SS (oh dear)

Push Ups 36 nonstop (well 1 sec break at 23 and then again at 33)
Incline DB Flies 25# (same)
DB Upright Rows 20# (this was quite difficult)
Squats **forgot to those were plies** with #160
Deadlifts 100#
Pullovers 40# (same)
Barbell Curls 60# (same)
Dips and legs raised

Took a few more fitness pictures. One of legs and other of biceps.
Got to get going now. You all are so busy today!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks! Boo is my daughters cockatiel that I somehow inherited. LOL! He sits on my shoulder all day while I work. He's very tame and his claim to fame is, He can whistle the "Andy Griffith song" and the Beatles "Yesterday" LOL! Your bird in your avatar is GEORGOUS! Is that a Love Bird?

Yes that is a lovebird I have 2 that one is Cecil and my other one is Basil. They sit on my shoulder when I am not at work and are very friendly. I never thought I was a bird person until I got Cecil 8 years ago-they are very good "friends"

Diana Sue - question - I sort of messed up when I started back from my recovery week with the way I'm rotating the P90 weeks. I was supposed to do back & biceps week and then a leg, etc week and then back to back and biceps for a total of 2 weeks back and biceps. Since I messed, up ...if I want to do B&B twice, I'll have to do the same week 2 weeks in a row and then I'm going to Vegas...so my legs will only have Plyo X and yoga for work....do you think that will be okay? They feel worked (a little) today and all I've done is Plyo X and yoga the other day. thanks.

Not really. How do you go up in your weights and not take a break? That is what I tried to do, but I was soooo fried. Do you take a rest after the reps and just not inbetween sets? Please explain cuz I was like...this is not happening, I will have to go down in weights.

OOhh...Kelly Coffey has her 2 new workout descriptions up on her site. She's filming 9-19. She's a good advanced instructor that only made a couple DVDs to help raise money to help her father with cancer treatments and the response asking her to make more was so overwhelming that she decided to do it. I love her style. She is very professional and straightforward and intense. Reminds me a lot of Cathe and she has GREAT leg definition. Her aerobics has lots of plyos in it.

Charlotte - I'll superset two of the exercises, then take the break. So for instance with what you did today you would have done the pushups alone, just three straight sets or however you did them.

Then you superset the Incline DB Flies and go right to DB Upright Rows and then rest for whatever the break called for. Then do it again until all three sets are done. Then you start with the Squats and go right into the Deadlifts. Take the break and start over again until all three sets are complete.

Sometimes I've gone higher, other times I just stayed the same because I knew it would be hard to do with super setting. And when you go up in weight you don't have to go up 5 or 10 lbs., just 2 or 3 lbs. is sufficient.

Wow! Your pics are awesome! You sure can tell you curl 70 lbs., your biceps are amazing! Your legs look great as well. You are certainly doing something right!

I jsut got home from the gym. Did shoulders, abs, calves, shins and did the Kickbox Advanced class at the gym. Was ganna go on a 5 mile jog but stupid weather. hate it}(

Heres the breakdown. 90 sec rest inbetween sets:

SHOULDERS:
Rotator Cuff using cable- 3 sets 8 reps 25#
Single Arm Front Dumbell Lifts- 3 sets each side 10 reps 15# each
Upright Rows w/ Barbell- 3 sets 10 reps 60#
Shoulder Press Machine- 3 sets 8 reps 55#

CALVES:
Standing Calf Machine- 3 sets 25 reps 115#
Single Leg Calf Raise on Step- 1 set each side 25 reps w/ 10# dumbells

SHINS:
Don't know what its called but you sit on a high step or something, put a stability ball on the front of your feet (at shoelaces) and you curl it up, and release it down. I think this exercise was from Push/Pull. I did 3 sets 30 reps w/ stability ball

ABS:
Abdominal Crunch Machine- 3 sets 15 reps 90#
Abdominal Machine- 3 sets 15 reps 75#
Addominal Machine for Oliques/ Crivis- 1 set each side 20 reps 67.5#
Ab Board- 100 inverted sit-ups
Ab Board- 50 twists on that same machine w/ 12# medicine ball

I don't have too much time for personals now cuz I gatta get in the shower and get ready for school the next day. Will be back at 10:45 tomorrow (half day)

Lora, I think that would be fine. Both Ply X and Yoga X both hit the legs pretty good. You are not going to lose anything doing this till after you come back from Vegas. If it were me I would do a shorter yoga workout and add in some legs. You could even do just a few of the exercises off of the legs and back dvd.

Charlotte, Charlotte those are some great pictures. You can see your quads. Your biceps are awesome. You can tell that you put a lot of work in. 100# deadlifts. Awesome. I used to go heavier but had some low back pain so backed off.
