There is a move similar to the swordmen in Core Synergistics, called "Lunge and reach". Tony says to use a light weight, says to the guys that one 12lber is as high as you want to go. I use a 6lb weighted ball, or a 8lb. dumbbell. He decribes it as picking something up by your right foot and putting it up on a shelf to your left and visa versa. It's more of a functional fitness move, works your core really well.
