Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Tues Feb 20

Dallys,

Your pictures are fabulous! We just went to Capital Reef last year in the Fall. It is gorgeous there. Your Mom and Dad must be happy living in a beautiful place like that. OMG!

You must travel. I see pictures it seems from either Florida or a far Eastern State. I know that pelicans (my most favorite bird in the world) migrate, but memories from your pelican picture reminds me of Florida when we visited there.

We hiked in the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, Capital Reef, Pacific and Atlantic oceans and many many other places. Your beautiful pictures look so familiar to me. I bet my DH and I have been there as well.

Isn't it fun going outside and just letting yourself go?

Janie

The idea is to die young as late as possible.

Janie- Those Pelican Pictures are in Carmel (Bebble Beach) California. We went there over Christmas. It's South of San Fransisco. We also go boating at Lake Powell almost every year. We don't do alot of traveling, but we are starting to get out more now that the kids are all grown.:) And yes! It's fun getting outside and letting yourself go!

Lora- You should try the "look great in eight" rotation. I know people have used DVD's for that one. It looks fun and changes so much that you can't get bored.

Evening everyone! Tonight's WO was stinky! I did Turbo Jam Punch, Kick, & Jam. No weighted gloves tonight, since this was my first time through with the DVD. I did not enjoy this as much as the Cardio Party DVDs and really missed sweating up a storm. This is one of those nights where I just say a prayer (through gritted teeth) that at least I have the ability to workout, no matter what I did or did not accomplish. There are a lot of people out there who wish they felt good enough mentally and/or physically to have that opportunity.

Lora/Diane Sue/Anyone else that does TJ-Please tell me this particular Turbo Jam gets better with weighted gloves or something. I was also really, really disappointed with the resistance tubing section-so short I can't even fathom why it was included. I normally enjoy resistance tubing for a nice change of pace, but this almost felt like a filler, or worse yet, waste of time. Is T3 just as bad?

Deb-Nice leg WO! Amazing that you can tack on floor work after. I usually have to put the floorwork on another day!

Meg/Everyone/Anyone-What's the right way to do deadlifts? I don't seem to feel them either.

Char-OMG! P90X got boring! I was thinking about "bringing it" later this year. Should I think twice about it?

Suz-Awful about the canine influenza-makes me mad and sad at the same time.

Dallys-Nice WO! I am going to check out your link, too. Re: Dogs-I have 2 Bassett Hound girls-Gabby and Gracie and one Chow/some other high strung dog mix boy-Lenny. He is named Lenny after Lenny Kravitz, since the dog was wild and crazy when we got him! lOL! They are my doggie kids-very spoiled!

Janie-Had a nice lunch w/ Dad, thanks! Ate Pear & Blue Cheese Salad-love that combination! Re: Your workout! Holy Cow!!!!!! Maniac city!!!!!

OK maniacs, I have a deadlift confession.....I don't feel them UNLESS I do them the way Rachel McLish does them. I have an old WO video of hers called In Shape with Rachel McLish and it's circa 1995. She takes the weight all the way to the toes on the down motion and even flares (swings) them out front slightly further for more range of motion before pulling back up to the hip. When I started Cathe, I noticed she usually only goes to the knee level. I don't feel them doing them that way at all. I am in trouble now? Here's a link to Amazon showing the WO I am referencing...

A two-time Ms. Olympia wouldn't lead me astray, would she?

I did get in my workout today but it has been incredibly busy today. I have to be up early as the grandchildren are coming at 6 and I am taking them to school. Todays workout was TJ Punch Kick & Jam stopping at the tubing, and Fat Blaster no w/up, I wore my weighted gloves for both. I then did Tracey Staehle Core conditioning using 5 and 8 # for some of the work, I finished off with Yoga Shatki dancing warrior 3 & 4 and the bends and twists. The workers finally cleared up some stuff in back so I can take the dogs out tomorrow. I had to wade them through stuff everytime I went out today.

Jen, I really like Punch Kick & Jam. I have always worn the gloves though and I put a lot of hops and jumps and propulsions in it. I have all of the TJ's except the two with the ball. I rarely do the tubing on that one because it is so short and seems pointless. I have done it a few times when I was going to do 3T to add a little more. 3T is just ok to me. Not enough of any one thing. I would probably take it on vacation with me or someting. I think of all the TJ's I use Cardio Party Remix and Fat Blaster the most, then Punch Kick and Jam and CP3.

Hi Jen. I'm the happy mega poster today (cancelled appts., Dh working late, I'm bored today) I think Punch Kick and Jam will be alot better for you with weighted gloves. It still will not be as intense as the Cardio Parties. The band part is very lame and I usually skip it. I do like the Capoaria(sp?) ending though. I remember that I liked 3T. It is a good short workout with the band, I instantly thought great travel-workout, mostly. I for sure used a heavier band than the whimpy one it comes with. I used the red and green band. I think my favorite of the bunch is the fat blaster workout. Short and intense. To me the glory of these shorter TJ's is just adding them onto a weight workout or getting one in early in the morning when I'm not in the mood. They fool me into thinking it's an easy workout, but yet they can pack a punch if you put your all into it. I'd love to see the doggies. You need to post a picture. My Son-in-Law had a Basset/chow mix that just passed away. What a hilarious looking dog he was. Looking like a lab with his legs sawed off.:) Great dog!

Dallys, your mentioning the band reminded me that I did switch immediately to a heavier one and it made a huge difference. I was looking at my bands hanging together and realized also that the one that came with the set from beach body is way longer than my others so I didn't have very far to stretch:)
