Morning Maniacs -

This morning I did 321 Bulge Be Gone again with Ramona Braganza. I did Levels 1 & 2. Workout was 63" and I burned 539 calories.

I can't believe how solid of a workout this is. I probably shoudn't have done it again since I just did it yesterday and have DOMS from it (which also surprised me). I played my own music - Papa Roach.

Have great workouts everyone. I work early today. I've been having to take sleeping pills every night since the accident ....since I can't sleep due to neck pain. I also still can't get used to working early one day, late the next, etc!

Insanity is here. I just ordered the Deluxe kit from Mary at Totat Fitness DVDs for $162!! My leg, back and neck are not even ready for this!

Today was cardio and I tried Amy Bento's Kickbox Surge. OMG, what a fun workout! And I got the combo's fairly quickly, there are still a few that I need practice on, but for the most part I caught on easily. I have trouble with the spinning back-kicks, I just don't get how to do those. Eventually I'll get it.

This workout got my HR up big time and Amy is a great instructor. She's come a long way from the first step workout I did from her. I hated it and her cueing was aweful. But she does excellent with these kickboxing workouts. Worked up a good sweat. Music in this workout is excellent, but could have done without Amy's singing. LOL! Lots of new stuff that I like right now so that made it that much more fun.

There's ab work in this but I skipped it because I ran out of time.

HR STATS:
1 hr. 3 minutes total
2:30 below zone
14:30 in zone
46 min. above zone
547 calories burn

Happy about this calorie burn!

Lora - What kind of workout is 321 Bulge Be Gone?

I wokeup this morning with DOMS in every inch of my back from Disc 2 yesterday.:D

This morning was cardio and I did 4 DS HIS/LIS cardio. Workout was 1:01 and I burned 461 calories!

Debbie - Nice calorie burn on KB Surge!

All I did yesterday was swim. Oh, and bought my bike!!! Yippeee :) But that just required shelling out cash - no calorie burn there. I was just having that feeling of everything was starting to hurt. Also had not gotten good sleep the night before due to a sleepover Halle had and they kept coming into my room, waking me up, b/c Halle didn't want to sleep with the girl b/c she snores and the girl was crying b/c she was scared to sleep alone (a crock b/c she always sleeps alone at our house and I could tell, even in my half asleep state, that she was faking.) Anyway, today is a new day and hopefully, I will feel more energetic and get more done. Right now, I should be working but that doesn't seem to be happening either. I should also be finishing my cleaning. No specific plans for a workout other than I would like to do what I planned to do yesterday.

Diane Sue - glad to hear that you are quickly making your house a home.

Debbie - I have that workout - need to try it.

Lora - I am really tempted by Insanity. What is the difference in the regular and deluxe?

Linda - I am a bumbling idiot on those two workouts...

Morning! I did PLB standing and floor work- great workout. I just love that one.

Debbie: I knew you would like it! It's fun, right? I think that is on my list for tomorrow instead of KPC- I'd like to try the ab work, too.

Linda: GOOD STUFF, huh? I think those meso 1 workouts are a nice change and really get in there.

Shana: Yay on the bike! I am not looking forward to sleepovers in my future. Le sigh.

Lora: Quit temping me on Insanity! I think that might be a winter project for me. I seriously have too many DVDs I need to revisit right now. But I want it!!!

Gotta work, just wanted to say hi!

Morning! I did PLB standing and floor work- great workout. I just love that one.

Patti - I can't stand those endless leg presses in that one!

Shana - Congrats on the bike! Enjoy! Oh and 4DS HIS/LIS are easy once you have done Amy's step.

I want Insanity too! But alas there is no money!

GM maniacs-
I did not get an official workout in yesterday, as I had to help my parents move stuff from upstairs. They are getting new carpet, finally (they had green shag from the 70's). So I helped move 25,30,35, and40 lb weights down stairs and several different plates. Then I had to move them to my house, so I had worked up a sweat. I did take Bella on a walk, and it was hot.

Linda-Nice work on the STS w/o the disks. I like meso 1 the best...my body really responded to it.

Debbie-kickbox surge really keeps my HR up there. I do not like the first surge, I don't know why. The music is great though.

Patti-PLB, I need to break that one out again.

Lora-What is 321 bulge be gone and what is insanity? Hope your neck feels better soon. Have you ever had epideural steroid injections in your neck, they can work wonders?

Meals for yesterday (you can yell at me if you want...I need it)
m1: Kashi cereal with soy milk and a banana
s1:1/2 organic english muffin with 1T pb (naturally more) and 4 graham crackers (work was crazy)
m2: chicken sausage, roasted peppers and onions, 1/2 c brown rice, 2 c salad with 2T oil and vinegar dressing
s2: 1/2 c oatmeal with 1 scoop P.P. and 1T walnuts
m3: sloppy jane (got it from oxygen) but I used 1 slice of bread instead of a roll and 2c salad w/ 2 T dressing. I also had a small bag of lay's potato chips :( (moment of weakness)
and 1/2 frozen sorbet (my throat hurt all day).
(overall, too many carbs and not enough veggies, need a little more protein and less junk)
Sorry that is so long winded
TTYL-
Theresa

Linda: When I started I didn't realize I had 6 risers under my step instead of 5- couldn't figure out why I was barely keeping up. Duh. I think I would rather do them all at once in PLB rather than ME, when they just keep coming back over and over again!

Patti - Six riser would be brutal!:p And now that you mention it, I agree that having them all together is better than in ME.

I finally got a decent workout. I have 4 of the grandchildren here today and am taking another later to tutoring. My workout today was Amy's Rumble stopping at the heavy bag because I discovered that all of the bolts had not been attached on my heavy bag stand.I burned 312 calories. I went on and did Kickbox Surge combos and surges 1-3 and abs burning 369 calories. I then did Amy's Slo Mo chest, biceps and triceps burning 250 calories and finished with Perfect Abs challenge strength and challenge Knockout segments. I checked that one out from the library yesterday :) Total calories burned today was 1009. I am really getting some good doms this week. My shoulders and lats are sore from Tuesday's workout. Legs were sore form APX Monday:D
Post workout I had some organic low fat granola with 1 scoop biochem protein powder on it and some skim milk. I have ground turkey thawing so will probably make a the taco salad from muscle chow for lunch. We had the muscle chow meat balls last night for dinner.

Nice workouts everyone, I don't have time for personals today but wanted to comment on Theresa's comment to me about KB Surge:

Theresa - I don't like the first surge either, but it sure did get my HR up. I feel like it's too hard on my back and knees. But I was able to do the entire surge.

Haven't posted my meals for a while, just got tired of posting them. This is what I'm eating today:

M1: ON whey protein shake w/strawberries (post workout)
M2: Whipped Vanilla BSN w/ 1/2 c. oats & 1 tbsp. Naturally More PB
M3: Garlic Chicken over spaghetti; kiwi
M4: 1/2 c. Greek yogurt w/ 1 1/2 tbsp. honey
M5: Bison burger on 1 slice Ezekiel bread; Cucumbers, grape tomatoes & onions w/lite Northern Italian dressing
M6: Chocolate Protein Pancake w/1 tbsp. Naturally More PB

1576 calories
51 g. fat - 29%
137 g. protein - 35%
150 g. carbs - 38%

Patti - Okay, I have a couple of Disc 3 questions:

Exercise 546 Walking Lunges & Plie Squats - How many rounds does she do? Target Reps are listed as NA?

Again on Ex. 397 Firewalkers - How many rounds? She says 10, but is that just one way or up & back is one round?

Ex. 547 Wall Squat w/ Ball and Leg Extension - It says 10 reps, is that 5 with each leg or 10 each leg for a total of 20?

And last the Calf Raises are listed as 16 reps for the first set and 10 for the second set, but the demo video shows at least 30 change the tempo every 10?

Linda: I'll post this as I look and keep editing until I answer all of your questions.

Walking Lunges and Plie Squats: No weight- 4 walking lunges forward turn to front and 4 jumping plie squats, stay low, turn and go back 4 lunges and repeat jumping plie squats. You'll do that 3 times or 6 trips back and forth. These are very similar to how she does them in B&G, but no weight and all the plies have the jump.

Firewalkers: Start on the left and go 4 over to the right. Back to the left for 4 and that's one. Go to ten.

Wall Squat w/ Ball and Leg Extension: No weight for this one- ball up on back. Lower for 2 counts, lift leg and lower on 3, 4, 5, 6 (so extend twice), put leg back down on 7 and back up on 8. Do alternating legs and 4 on each leg. For the ninth rep, go down for 2 counts, extend leg and hold for counts 3-8, then do small pulses for 7 and back up on 8. Do other leg for 10th rep.

Calves after squats: Keep same weight in hands- do 10 slow, 10 fast, 10 slow, 10 fast. This is for both times the calves follow the squats.

Theresa - no - never had injections, although they want to do them and a facet block ......but I won't have it. I've taken steroids orally from time to time.

321 Bulge Be Gone is supposed to be for losing weight after having a baby (don't laugh - cuz I have the menopot bulge instead of post p bulge!). Ramona Braganza is a Hollywood Trainer who is well known for getting the Stars back in shape after childbirth. It's a decent workout that combines, cardio, leg toning cardio, kickboxing, weight circuits, hip hop cardio and core segments. It is on DVD-r.....and production is low....but I don't care about that.

Insanity is Beachbody's new program with Shaun T. My DH has been doing the preview disc we got - the Plyo Cardio one. Basically it is cardio intervals turned upside down.........for instance - you do 7 minutes of the hard part of the interval with only 30 seconds of rest, etc. It's brutal. The deluxe set includes 3 additional workouts and one is an upper body weight workout with Shaun, one ab and one cardio. One of the cardio DVDs is like a constant hard interval. You can read about Insanity here on Mary's home page www.totalfitnessdvds.com. Her customer service is awesome, she ships immediately and has free shipping.

I am a bit afraid to try Insanity....especially with all my recent injuries lately.

I'm very much looking forward to the Rev Abs program that is upcoming from Beachbody. It's a martial arts inspired, Capoira, kickboxing type of program that incorporates ab training.

Hope this helps to enable. My DVD collection is seriously overtaking my HOUSE!!!

Lora-thanks for the info, I'll check in to that. If your neck does not get better, you really may want to try the ESI injections. I work at a place that does them, and most patients are amazed. My dad had them done for his back and he has done great. Ok that's my speel, now I am done.

I worked out. I did not want to. I did cardio and upper body circuits since I missed cardio yesterday. I did HSC and then Bootcamp(cardio, upper, and core). Workout was 70 minutes and I burned 633.

m1-smoothie (protein powder, soy milk, berries, and 1/2 banana)
sn- english muffin and turkey sausage
m2-sausage and peppers with 1/2 c rice, 2 c salad mix with 2 T oil and vinegar dressing
sn-1/2 c oatmeal, 1 sc pp, and 1 t walnuts, and...skittles (I gave into temptation)
m3-sloopy jane, 2c salad mix w/ 2 T dressing

I saw a recipe in a mag for Frozen banana pops that sounded kinda refreshing. Take a banana, roll it in flavored FF yogurt, then roll it in almonds (or other nuts), put it on a popsicle stick and freeze it for 3 hours. I may try this with greek yogurt flavored with protein powder for an evening treat.

Have a great evening
Theresa

Theresa - I worked for a Neurosurgeon for 6 years and he did them in the office......thus the reason I stay FAR AWAY. He always said with one slip of the needle, you could be paralyzed in a flash! He only did lumbar ones in the office since the cervical ones were so tricky. At least - that's what he used to say. That was enough to scare me though.

Fair enough. If I heard that, I would stay far away also. That is just so weird because we have several (at least 10) that do CESI's under fluoro in their office and the hospital. Have you had an MRI since your wreck? Sorry if I am being too nosy, it's the medical in me :) You don't have to discuss any more if you do not want to. I'm just programmed to ask a billion questions :)

Patti - Thanks, your the best! Without friends like you I would be blissfully ignorant of such tortures as hold for 6 counts then pulse 7 up on 8.:p:p:p:D:D:D
