Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Thurs July 1

Cathlete
Morning Maniacs- This morning I chose some easier, lower impact cardio cuz of my back and hip. I did Weight Watchers with Michelle Dozois - Cardio & Cardio Core segments. I added a Cathe stretch on. Workout was about 45 minutes and then I did a longer Cathe stretch. I burned 477 calories. Max HR was 150. I'm icing right now. Hope I can stand all day. I'm very "mental" today. Having a really tough time with life.

Today was another rest day. Would have been great to sleep in if my two kitties would have let me! Little brats! Neck is still hurting. WTH? Why is this happening? I just don't get it. I have a new pillow and I am still having problems with my neck. Starting to really irritate me.

Deb - sometimes the weather change (like we just had) can make my pain flareup. Maybe that has something to do with it since it was 46 degrees last night.

Good Morning ~

Quite a day yesterday. Sparing the details, I didn’t have any time to workout. At all. This summer’s been tough to adjust to - part of it is dealing with the contractors and other unusual stuff like that. If I can’t get a better handle on my schedule, I may have to start getting up extra early to make sure I get in my workout. I’ve done this before and I know a lot of you guys do (of necessity). I’m up early anyway - it‘s just the sleep thing. My physical energy seems like it‘s at an all time low in the a m - even my coffee cup feels heavy  I’d rather use that time to work. I am whining. I am sorry - just a bit grumpy about this and really shouldn’t be. We just do what we have to do and adjust right? Ok then. In any case, High Step Challenge TODAY (even if I have to barricade the door). I ran through it last night and set up so hopefully it will go more smoothly. Also a shorter kb practice tonight.

Lora - Glad you at least tried to go a little easier today. I was pretty darn "mental" yesterday. Makes it harder to cope with even small things - sure hope you have a smooth day :D

Debbie - Kitty's are much less adorable when you're looking at them instead of the back of your eyelids  Skyler woke me up this morning (and has since gone back to bed  ). So sorry about your neck. I get that sometimes and when you can't move your head even walking around is hard (let alone working out). Wonder what's up - I swear it's like I said: the mysterious nomad pain. Hope it gets better as the day goes on.

I WILL be back later

Lori

Debbie-sorry the neck is giving you issues....I was really hoping the arthrx would be helping more than it seems to. And those pesky kitties :p

Lora-that is a great burn for low impact. Hope today is a great one :)

Lori-I hate days like that...where you don't feel like you are ever going to get caught up, ugh. I am the same way in the mornings, I don't officially wake up until 9:30 on weekdays :D

The only "workout" I did yesterday was take the dogs on a long walk. We went up a very long, steep hill so I felt somewhat accomplished. I watched the original Twilight to get prepped for Eclipse on Monday. Today I am meeting w/ a gym my sister works for to see about teaching group classes on the side. I am nervous/excited :) I'll let you know how it goes.....ttyl

I am getting ready to go get the children. Thought I would do a quick post.
Workout was Brook Benton's Cardio Pump Fusion yoga w/up, fusion cardio, cardio kettlebell 45 minutes 344 calories 20% fat Max HR 153, then I did Turbo Fire Hiit 16 minutes 144 calories 14% fat Max HR 175, Kickbox Surge Core refining 10# med ball 9 minutes 57 calories, I finished with Bob Harpers Warrior yoga 58 minutes 248 calories. Workout time was 2 hr 8 minutes and total calories was 793

I will try to get back for personals later.

Lora - I don't think I've ever seen you do the same workout twice! LMAO!!! You crack me up with all your workouts. Did you order Turbo Fire? I'm sort of interested in them, but I don't have that kind of $$$ right now. I also wondered if my neck problem was the weather change, but it started on Monday and it was still hot and humid then. I have no clue what the deal is.

Lori - My kitties are still adorable, even when they wake me up too early. I can't even get mad at them. How do you get mad at cute little cuddly creatures who purr every time they see you? They decided to play tug-of-war with my glasses this morning. Brother! Enjoy your workout later!

Theresa - I was hoping the glucosomine would help too. I'm done with the box I ordered so I went back to the other kind I was using since I didn't notice a difference. Thanks for the recommendation, though. I'm always up to trying something different. I want to see Eclipse, too. Maybe this weekend!

Diane Sue - How are you liking the new Turbo workouts? They have me very intrigued.

Debbie - LOL - you're right. They really can do no wrong. Their intent is always innocent. I've really only been 'mad' at Skyler once - and it wasn't even that (mad) - concern's a much better word - she had a broken Christmas ornament (glass) in her mouth and thought we were playing keep away when I tried to get it from her  Amazingly, she didn't get cut. Pets do make pretty effective alarm clocks, too. If only we could "set them" to go off according to our schedule.

Theresa - WOO HOO!!! That would be a great opportunity for you - I sure hope it comes through (finger's crossed) :D

Diane Sue - That's more like it (your hr monitor reading). That must be quite a yoga workout, too  Great line-up today. Doesn't look like you missed anything ;)

High Step Challenge is done. Went much more smoothly. I felt AWFUL (just tired and sluggish) for about the first 15-20 minutes. By the end I felt MUCH BETTER and ready for more :p (that will have to be later). What a good workout. Moves fast and very fun once I shook off the blahs.

Lori - is Skylar your pet? I thought it was your daughter! My kitties can do no wrong!

Deb - did you ever get that neck pillow I suggested from Arc4life? I also notice working my shoulders with bands tends to aggravate my traps/neck. I try not to do the same workout too many times.....as I read articles from trainers that train celeb's and they say they never do the same workout twice! ....so I have to have a collection to keep up with them!! LOL I still have some workouts that have never been done...plus once I've done once and not sure if I'm gonna keep 'em.

Sadly, my day at work did not go smooth. I'm being pressured to move out of my dept and I don't really like any of the offers they are making me. Not sure if I could make my Sales goals where they are offering. I'm stressed.

I have been busy all day. With grandchildren and the phone ringing off the wall. I talked to my Dad and brother this afternoon. My brother has been in the hospital for a bite in the leg. Caused cellulitis so he is gowing back to the hospital twice a day for iv antibiotics. His dd went swimming in an unclean stream or something and got a staph infection and pneumonia. So they put her in the hospital. So much craziness.
I recieved my Advanced Turbo Fire Set (thanks Lora:D) So will be incorporating some of them with my Bobs the rest of the week.

Debbie, so far I only have the Hiit 15 Turbo Fire. I like it. Gets my Hr up there quickly and I am done in 16 minutes. Well, I should be done LOL The moves on it are pretty much the same type of moves on the turbo Jams but it is sped up and a lot more of the "turbos" at least in the Hiit.

Lori, I am much happier with my monitor readings now:D I was surprised at the calorie burn on the yoga workout. There is ab work in it and some movement along with lots of holds, push ups, downdog shoulder presses etc. Funny thing about pets. I was using the medicine ball for the ab work and my dog Mudd came in with her tennis ball and laid it down by me. I thought that was interesting. Wondered if she really identified that both were balls.

Got some kb practice in tonight. Just alternated get ups swings windmills and a few pistols (not many of any of them in a row). Pretty low intensity, but good practice.

Lora - LOL - I probably talk about Skyler as if she is a little person, but yes, she's our dog (a Beagle). I just have DS - he's my only "human" child - but like you guys, our kitty's and skyler - they don't seem like "animals/pets." Loving, non-judgemental, they don't hold grudges, bring joy just by their presence. That sounds more like the definition of an angel or saint, huh? Very good role models - I should only be so good. Unfortunately, I think there are people that fit the "animal" title way more than our critters do. You may work with some of them? Sorry your day was tough. Boy. No idea what I'd do. Is the ultimate choice yours or will they override your wishes? I'll keep praying for you - sounds tense/intense

Diane Sue - I'm happier with your readings now, too ;) Was afraid the one's before were going to drive you to exhaustion (trying to bump them up to where they should, or you wanted them to be). About Mudd and the ball: Really, I think animals do make connections and pick up on things - all that stuff - beyond what a lot of folks give them credit for. It's charming that she did that. Such a sweet gesture somehow. I can think of a lot of examples along those lines with Skyler and our cats, too. They're quite something :D

Good night -

Lori
