Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Monday Sept 4

Good afternoon,
Annette welcome, I have always loved your mish moshes that you post. Gives me more evil ideas:) Enjoy the zoo!

Today I did Amy Bento's Step & Pump ultimate premix(circuit) It was ok. I felt deficient on the cardio though. Today I added some extra propulsions to the cardio and upped the weights. The nice thing is this one does the push up segments 2 times. With GS chest & triceps I got in 132 pushups:) I then did a 3 mile treadmill run, and then GS chest & triceps. I did the bench presses w/ 30# dumbbells, and the flys with 25# dumbbells, a 45# barbell for the close grip bench press, and I always pick up a bar(45#) when doing triceps dips. I don't know why but on the gs chest work I was shaking(that is unusual for me) I think it had something to do with the Amy Bento work that I did first. Lying triceps extensions were with 15# dumbbells,seated 25#, by the time I got to cross body triceps I dropped to 12# when I usually use 15#. If I am too sore I may go for mostly lower on Wednesday. Well I am off for a motorcycle ride.

Charlotte, maybe if these people come this will be it:) I know since you have found the home you want this has to be frustrating.

Charlotte, 50# triceps dips. Wow. I always feel 45 is easy. I just cannot bringmyself to do them without weight.

Adri, even if it is a holiday you can make up for the lack of a class at the gym:)

No, I forgot it was superset. Oh well. On Wednesday I will frie and die, k? Now I did curl with 30# db's...so one in each hand. You want me to try for 50? lol.

Are you bipolar today? I see Bill and then I see you. I may just see stars soon after I do coremax 1 with that plate on my back. lol. Your killing me with 132 pushups. My chest area hurts just hearing that! WOW!!!!! You are one maniac busy woman! I hope no one gets in your way!!!!

Glad more ppl are joining our kick ass w/o check it}( Just got home from the gym. I did chest, back, abs, and 30 minute cardio

Heres the brakedown. All with a 90 second rest inbetween sets:
BACK-
Lat Pulldown- 4 sets 8 reps 95# (killer}()
Seated Row- 3 sets 8 reps 65#
MTs High Row- 1 set 10 reps 40#, then changed to 2 sets 8 reps 45#
Pull-ups- 2 sets of 9

CHEST-
Dunno what these are called but it uses the cable and you use 2 small hooks and hold both in each hand, and using you chest primarily, then delts, you pull then togather so your hands touch, then back to start when you arms are straight out. Hope I explained it well. I did 1 set w/ 35# 8 reps and 3 other sets w/ 30# 8 reps
Chest Flies- 20# dumbells 10 reps 3 sets
Push Ups- 3 sets of 25 on toes w/ hands on 15# dumbells to protect wrists
(didn't do as much for chest cuz the cable thing is a killer}( )

ABS-
Abdominal Crunch machine- 3 sets 15 reps 90#
Abdominal (machine) 3 sets 15 reps 75#
Then used that same machine above and did oblique/ crivis work. 1 set each side w/ 67.5#
Ab Board- 105 inverted sit-ups, then 50 twists w/ 12# med ball on that same machine

Then did 30 minute fast walk on tread (3.7 MPH and 6.0 incline)

Just thought I would brake it down for once.

Charlotte-175# for squats...OMG I thought 75-80# was good for me. Great job;-) thats so good!

Diane Sue- I would have done the Step Extreme class tonight at the gym, then thought I may just do IMAX 2 later on, but just decided to do a fast walk w/ my Mom on tread.

Hey, Charlotte, that was a great workout. So on the squats did you use a squat rack?? I can do 220 on the Bowflex but I know that is more like 150 with free weights. If I have to throw it ovewr my head myself it is 75#.. 175# is great!! Yes I am bipolar today. LOL On the 30 amy Bento pushups she did them as 3 sets of 10. 10 decline off bench, 2 sets of 10 pulling back with one arm so it is like a one arm pushup. I think Cathe did this on Timesaver one?? Cathe was harder:) She did these on her knees and I did them with straight legs. Actually she did them and then did a cardio segment and did them again so I guess that was 60 pushups so that would be what 132 pushups:)

Great job with the rocks. You have every reason to be proud of your progress. It just gerts better!! I made sure all of those brownies were gone with the family:) That is the disadvantage of baking, we eat them. It is hard to resist the home baked foodstuffs.

Diane Sue - excellent workout! You make me tired every time I read your workouts. LOL on the bipolar thing! :)

Charlotte - How on earth do you do alternate curls with 30# dumbbells? Geez woman. I feel I'm strongest with chest and then bi's and I can't get past 20# for for curls. You put me to shame.

Wow -- everyone's really motivated today.

Great workouts. I feel like such a loser. I'm in so much pain tonight. My disc pain is flaring and I have a spasm that goes from the base of my skull all the way down my mid back and into my right hip (sciatica). This is not uncommon for me (especially right before my period - darned hormones) and I'm taking my 2nd Rx of Progesterone which is probably making things worse, as progesterone is the hormone that surges in your body right before your period to make you bloat, etc...so I'm sure it's making my pain worse.

Also, I seem to feel pushups more in my upper back and in my left intrascapular area (pain/spasm) than in my chest. I'm strong enough to do them on my feet...but can't due to my problems. Makes me feel inadequate. I guess I'm a bit overly emotional today.

The movie stunk (Wicker Man) and I couldn't believe how it ended....I won't even go there but I can't believe they actually did that in a movie, nor can I believe Nic Cage took the role of the lead.

ETA: Charlotte - I emailed you back on the scent rec's. Happy shopping! Candy Butcher is more vanillish than chcolately....it's yummy.

Lora-My Mom had the sciatica nerve problem lasts January. It lasted her 3 months, and she couldn't work at all that whole time. Hell, she couln't even get outa the car without having to scream}( Since it was a bad case, she also got a charlie horse in her calf. She lost a lot of her muscle tone, but didn't gain a lot of weight cuz she still ate clean. Anyway...Lora, please be carefull. If you feel pain, don't push it. We don't even have an idea how my mom got it, but if you feel pain, try something else. Trust me, if you get sciatica, you won't be able to w/o for a while, its THAT bad.

Also, Charlotte, sounded like you got a kick butt workout!!!!!! 175# squats, OMG I hope I'm like you, hell, I hope I'm like all of you when I'm older}( I use 80# for squats and thats almost how much I weight. About 11# less.

And Debbie- Did you do the whole IMAX 2 workout and burned the 291 calories, or did you do blasts or something?

You guys are freaking me out with all this heavy weight!!!}(

Today I went an another Mt. Bike ride up in the canyon, about 2 1/2 hrs. There were a gazillion people up there because of the holiday. We went on a different trail and it truely kicked my A$$, it was about 9 miles of mostly hills!! I bonked big time. Maybe because I worked out so hard yesterday, plus the Mt. Bike ride. My legs were so shakey and weak, PlyoX was out of the question for today. I'll have to squeeze it in later this week. My hubby just sails up those mountains like a Gazelle. I'm feel like more of a...I don't know...maybe a half dead dog with 3 good legs. LOL! I've got work to do an my endurance.:(

Welcome A-jock!! These girls are for sure Hardcore. They amaze me!

Hey Dallys! Nice bike ride!! Hope you can walk tomorrow!! Yeah, these girls are like bionic strong!!

I just did Coremax 1 and 2. THen the cardio from SJP. ( I really like this one lately, even the hi-lo), then chest.

Push-ups (first 10 on my toes, YAY!)
Dumbell Fly
Dumbell press
Dips with my legs elevated (I REALLY felt these in the chest) I actually went to COMPLETE failure on the last set LOL!!)

3 sets of 10-12 BTW.

Oh, I feel great! Everyone has been doing so awesome lately!

Deb- I just ordered that new Halloween tree thing from Avon! I love it!

Lora- Don't get down on yourself. You completely amaze me with your WO's and strength amongst your limitations and pain! Feel better!

DS- My DH always bugs me to bake, (he loves baked goodies) but I worry about my willpower, especially brownies. So I tell him TOO BAD!!

Adri- good job! Do you ever take a complete rest day? Just wondering.

Can't believe I forgot to mention that I did 5 complete levitation holds! I remember just sitting there and laughing the first time I saw Cathe do it, saying Yeah right!!
Yay me!!
