Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for May 2020

Yay it's May!! Let's hope for warmer weather and the extermination of COVID19. It can't come soon enough.

I had no energy today to do anything, not sure why. Just didn't feel like working out. I walked on my treadmill just to get my blood flowing and get some steps in. I feel better now.

Workout was 50 minutes, burned 328 calories, did 2.5 miles and went 6032 steps. HR was 116/131.

Jolie - I do love KCM but I love Cathe as well. Her workouts are the bomb, I just get tired of them every so often. Plus I seem to get injured a lot when I do them. Eventually I will start using her live workouts again. Maybe I should start taking some of those supplements for skin, my skin is not aging well. And it's odd, really, I was never much of a sun worshiper because I have such fair skin. I'm not sure why my wrinkles show so much now. I'm hoping using some new face products will help. Hope you enjoyed your rest day!

Belinda - I did look at that recipe on the cherry ice cream you made, I might have to try it. It does look easy. I'm not sure we can get cherries here yet, though. Good job with your workout this morning. Are you knees better?

Diane - My FB does that a lot too - shows me I'm over in my calorie intake when I'm not. Like you, I use MFP to log my food and it syncs with my FB and I always have a lot of calories left over at the end of the day. Sometimes my FB will say I'm over and other times it doesn't. It's weird, I can't make heads or tails of it. I will have to look through the RAW list of all workouts to see if there are some I've never noticed before. So I just ordered an eyeshadow pallet from Kohls and I was so excited when I received it yesterday. Well, I opened it up and they must have thrown the box it was in or kicked it or something because the eyeshadows were all loose and all over the place. WTH? So sick of the post office and delivery companies. Some don't care what they do with your stuff. So now I have to send the dang thing back. Not sure I want to order another one, it might happen again. That was really nice of your DH to buy those eyeshadows for you. My DH would have done the same! :) I'm not happy with Bare MInerals because like you said, they make my pores look huge. That just recently started happening. Looking forward to the Estee Lauder foundation. I don't even think it has shipped yet, they said something about due to COVID19, the items I selected might not ship for 5-7 days. Why?

Doreen - Great job with your workout yesterday. Have a great one today!

Roselyn - Hope you have a good workout today.

Have a great day, workout and weekend everyone!!

Debbie - I use frozen organic cherries. Yesterday I went to Costco, I bought a huge frozen bag of organic cherries. This is a very easy recipe. I hear you on the Covid 19. Dental/Ortho will open up beginning of May. Not sure how I feel about that with the virus still around. Thanks for asking my knees feel a lot better except I still can't do any kneeling exercises. They still feel swollen for some reason. Just don't get it? I do keep everything low impact, no deep squats that seems to help. How are you feeling these day's? Nice step count this morning. I will go for a walk later too. The rain finally stopped.

I did CL 295 Stepped up Bootcamp. A good bootcamp. I think Cathe got some new music? It sounds like a little different mix than normal. Or maybe I was actually paying attention to it.

My husband and I went for a bike ride yesterday. He's pretty beginner and struggles climbing hills so we took lots of breaks but had a fun time... ran into my boss on the trail too!! Nothing like getting caught playing hooky from work by your boss - also playing hooky!!

OMG!!! I am dead :) Yvette posted a new workout today, she got to go back to teaching, her state opened up, and boy did she stick it to us today! The workout is called Big Step and Heavy Weights. Yikes... I didn't preview the workout so I didn't know what I was getting myself into. The circuit starts with 30 seconds of cardio on the floor, next 1 minute of cardio on the step and then she does heavy weights for 8 to 12 reps. I however didn't do the weights, what I did was ABS. And with the cardio I did all legs or some sort of leg cardio because I wanted to focus on cardio, legs and abs. It really worked out well and I am dripping. I will be surprised if I can walk tomorrow :) I didn't do the Chest/ Shoulders/ Triceps because I am lifting with Cathe tomorrow so I was looking for a high calorie burn with legs. Total workout time was 1 hour 12 minutes, I had to pause a few times and I burned 740 calories and the workout included a nice stretch. There are a lot of planks in this workout, but I don't do those, they are too hard on my low back. Also, you use 3 risers but I used four in certain areas of the workout.

Debbie, Nice job on the TM walk even though you were not feeling it today. It is funny, I spent my entire life laying in the sun and my skin is pretty good. I do take vitamin D and C and Grape Seed Extract because they do so much for the skin and so much more. I grew up taking handfuls of vitamins since I was a small child so that must have a lot to do with it too.

Doreen, Try that new Yvette workout, it will kick your butt. You can do it, you are the youngest person on this thread :) I am so glad you had a nice ride yesterday with your husband.

Belinda, Yeah on doing the stability ball workout today! I don't use the ball for some exercises because of my back but the bench works perfectly too, you just don't get as much core work in I guess.

Diane Sue, I hope you had a good nights sleep and get a nice workout in today. I will be back later to read your post.

Off to look at a house that is really close to the beach for lease. It is not as big as this house but it looks nice with a big yard for my dog. Once the market opens back up I am sure our owner will put this house on the market so I better get prepared.

Have a wonderful day.

Today I slept way to late and still did not get a good nights rest :( It took me forever to decide on a workout this today. I have to go Walmart before my husband gets up to have early dinner and get ready for work. So, just a shorter workout that took long because I wrote it down. Hunted for it as I know I did it before. I am going to have to organize all of these Raw workouts and maybe get a binder. Pages were falling all over the place when I was looking. Anyway I did on of Kelly's earlier raw workouts Raw Interval Circuits under cardio and weight intervals. This is light weights, but not to be underestimated in difficulty. 48 minutes(39 actual) heart rate 107/150, 164 calorie, 1,986 steps.
Raw Interval Circuits 39 minutes (cardio and Weights) light weight
Kelly says no more than 7 to start. I started with 8 first half and then wore 2# gloves and used 5's second half
This is a weight circuit done twice each exercise done for 1 minute (Kelly's timer goes off every 15 seconds)
4 minute warm up
plank, knee, jack
alternating biceps curls (had my arms burning)8's
lunge pulse switch or if not jumping just lunge I did the switch with the 8's
rope/crossjack/knee
lateral raise both 30 sec then alternate 30 seconds 8's
frog squat to reverse lunge right leg and left leg holding dbs in front 8's
upper cuts/ hop front and back 30 sec then just upper cuts
overhead triceps extensions 30 sec then pullover to triceps extension 30 sec (standing) 8's
squat pops 8's
curtsy/scale no weight
plank on forearms to side plank star alternating sides
End round 1 repeat Kelly does not use weights on pop squats second round, but I do. 2nd round was all done with 5# and 2 # gloves so non weighted did have the 2#

Jolie - I also used my bench for some of the exercises. I worked my abs yesterday, doing the little ab at the end really fried my abs in a good way. I used the same weights Cathe did. I probably could have gone heavier. Great workout. Nice job on the Yvette workout today.

Back from the store. I decided to just go to Dollar General and wait till next week to try Walmart market. A weekend and the first is not a good time to avoid people. No meat, but I found toilet paper. Only a little left and the rest of the paper goods seemed non existent. I picked up a binder and ordered those sleeves to organize and put my Kelly Raw workouts together in according to workout category. Maybe I will have an easier time then. Kelly said yesterday that she was putting up another heavy bag workout, but I did not see it up yet. She had another that she filmed too that she was posting about the other day.

Debbie, I used to have My Fitness Pal send my workouts to my fitbit app, but for some reason it quit doing it. Also Fit bit used to send my steps to MFP. I don't understand why it doesn't anymore. That would disappointing having makeup come messed up. I always worry about that, but generally things are wrapped well and are fine when they arrive. I got my makeup through Amazon this last time and the Tarte eye shadow. Was a little worried about the eye shadow though. The post office has an lack of care for the mail in my view. I have had to call them, file complaints, and they do not even try to make things right. They ignore the complaints. They lose packages. I will watch tracking and they stop in one area forever and then suddenly something went wrong and my package is undeliverable. I could go on and on. I am glad that Amazon does not use them that much here anymore. I used an Estee Lauder foundation a lot of years ago and liked it. I am not one to go to the mall to buy foundation or some specialty store and did not order online back then though. I order stuff from Beauty Brands occasionally. Better to go in though and get the free gifts when they have them. I order Kenra products for my hair from Amazon. Love the Gold products Kenra recently came out with. These companies blame covid for everything. I don't get it. Same as McDonalds not having salad because of covid. I can get salad from other places.

Belinda, I use frozen organic cherries from Sprouts quite a lot when fresh are not available. It does seem though that dentist/ ortho would be extra conscientious about avoiding viruses. I still need to make another appointment for my check and cleaning and my husbands.

Doreen, that is funny that you and your boss were both playing hooky from work. As long as the work is done, I would think it wouldn't matter anyway. I hope it wasn't too uncomfortable of a situation. Nice that you had a good time with your husband bike riding.

Jolie, great workout!! That was a nice way to make it work for what you wanted. It probably is wise to look for somewhere else to live. I gave my children chewable cod liver oil and C along with multi vitamins and my son a B 12 and iron tonic for his anemia that the doctor wanted me to keep up. They did not get sick hardly at all growing up even when the other children were having illnesses and even strep. Hardly any colds. We frequented natural food stores that were small back then for good quality foods and things like black strap molasses, wheat germ etc.. You are lucky. Although as a teen with acne the dermatologist had me on vitamins for my skin, so there was that. But, through my adult life I have taken supplements and read all kinds of health books. Living in Arizona as a teenager I spent a lot of time outside in the sun.

Hi Fives to me for working out today after yesterday's workout that damn near killed me, in a good way! I slept 10 hours without waking up, that is something to talk about! :) Today I did CL #163 Buff Upper Body and had a great workout. This workout focuses on Time Under Tension, you don't need to lift heavy to get a great burn in the muscle. I did the same weights as Cathe, but I did add in a few extra reps here and there. I have no idea what my calorie burn was because my Fitbit is running slow today. When the workout was done it said it was 32 minutes but the workout was just about an hour long. I burned 271 calories, the last time I did it I burned 401 calories. I hope it doesn't need to be replaced, I just don't want to spend the money on something like this right now. :(

Roselyn, you have to try that Yvette workout, can you do higher impact with your hip replacement or do you have to modify? I am so proud of you, your recovery for such a big surgery is something :) You go girl!

BBL to read your posts.

Beautiful sunny day today, I am going to the beach. Everyone is out now, this whole quarantine thing has lasted too long. The golf courses opened today! If you are afraid of getting the virus, stay home, if not, then go out and get some sun and some activity. There is no reason for teenagers and college kids to be held up in the house. Business are starting open and the Governor has lost control of his state. He is rich, well everyone is trying to save their business and not go bankrupt. There are Trump rallies everywhere around here, we are just missing Trump :) Every house has an American Flag out front and people are not going to be told what to do about our Civil Liberties anymore. The Government wants us to become dependent on them and that is called Socialism.

My Fitbit says I had a good nights sleep last night instead of fair. I have had more good nights lately since I have been tracking and following some guidelines. Also I do not have a alarm clock waking me and forcing me out of bed since my husband works nights and keeps those hours all of the time. I think that makes a huge difference than me staying up to get things finished up before bed and being woke up. I do have days coming up where I have to get up early so am "trying" to get to bed a bit earlier to compensate.
Today I did Coffey Fit Raw new heavy bag put up. I like how Kelly instructs when she has Noelle boxing. Wonder if she read my post on the facebook check in about my hands and the gloves. She talks about not hitting with the pinky and index fingers and some pointers there. I generally try to avoid the fingers. It was a good boxing workout with some breaks doing some body weight lunges and squats. 31 minutes, 157 calories, 122/165 heart rate, 3,143 steps ( I back up and step into a lot of my punches and bounce around a lot) It is hard for me to stay stationary. I think that is fine as long as I use my body for the punches and not just my arm. I then did Fit Bit "Daily Burn" kickboxing cardio+strength" 28 minutes, 125 calories, heart rate 119/165, 1,853 steps. This had no kicking in it and was boxing with cardio and strength, some with dumbbells I used 8# as it looked like they had light weights, walking planks, squat thrusts, combos of both, bear crawls to name a few moves. I finished with Fitbit 20 minutes recovery and mobility which I liked quite a lot, which was 20 minutes, 55 calories, heart rat 83/103, 69 steps. Total time was 79 minutes, 337 calories, 5,065 steps.

Jolie, way to go today. Maybe if you make sure the Fitbit is charged fully and reset it or at least turn it off and restart your cellphone it will reset itself correctly. I have to turn both off and on a lot just to get it to sync. Have fun at the beach. Your state government has gone off the deep end in my opinion. Besides all of these power trips. I am afraid some of this stuff will stick and each time they get a foothold with a new virus or something they will gain more and more control and we will be forced under their thumb or persecuted when we rebel. It makes me sad. We will have to be like Jesus followers in the Bible and find joy in our persecution because we know better even to death. Seriously upsets me!

Roselyn, nice work with Body Beast.

Hi,

Quick check in: I been organizing my digital downloads/files/picutes. Deleting data on my phone. Learning a lot about my phone. Hopefully it's all still here tomorrow, lol. It's a nightmare. Been deleting/moving files since this morning. I did manage to walk outside for an hour.

Sorry, I will keep it short today. My head is spinning working on the PC/phone today.

Did cardio beast today and abs

It was 88 here today, and my husband's birthday, so I had my parents over outside on our deck. They have been in there house this whole quarantine so I decided they had to get out. We had masks on when we took them home in the car. Our county here is closed at least until May 15 and going back to work in a salon is going to be a nightmare I picked a bad time to start this :/ so many guidelines to for clients and stylists

Belinda, that type of stuff gives me a headache and for whatever reason sets off my neck and upper back. Hope it goes quickly. I bought a binder and plastic page holders to organize Kelly's raw workouts by category so I don't have to hunt when I want to do a workout. I had mentioned it on the facebook check in and Kelly said something to the affect that she would just do the workout without writing it all down. I had others seem to think it was odd that I write them all down. Kelly does have some strength work sheets now for Raw workouts. Not all, but some. I just like to know what they contain. After I type a new one in here, I copy and paste it into word and adjust it, then print.

Roselyn, I don't know how you do work in a salon and follow these guidelines other than cleanliness. Surely you don't have to work with a mask on all day. I am curious how they expect to do that. Lots of women are really wanting their hair colored and fixed. I hear it all of the time. Not sure why nails are such a priority though. I suppose I am the odd ball.

Today I did a workout I may have done in the past but not sure. It was RAW Cardio Weight Tabata Intervals. It was a fun workout, I enjoyed it. And it went by really fast. This had 4 rounds of a weight exercise and cardio drill and then she'd do another 4 rounds of different weight exercise and cardio drill. Each tabata drill was 20 seconds. Why does this site always underline the word "tabata"? I am spelling it right and it is a word, so what is up with that?

Upright Rows: 12's
Cardio Drill
4x's

Cleans: 12's
Cardio Drill
4x's

Push/Press: 12's
Cardio Drill
4x's

Hang Clean/Squat: 12's
Cardio Drill
4x's

Deads/Curls: 12's
Cardio Drill
4x's

Plank/Down Dog
Supermans
2x's
Face Plant Pushup/Down Dog
Supermans
2x's

Abs

She does Bear Crawls at some point and I just did a boxing segment. I won't be doing anything like that until I'm sure my traps are healed. They feel really good today so didn't want to do those and push my luck. I was hesitant on doing the plank work, too, but I do a lot of down dog stretches and those don't seem to bother me.

Workout was 40 minutes, burned 249 calories, HR was 124/178.

Walked on my treadmill for 32 minutes, burned 216 calories, went 1.56 miles and did 3847 steps. HR was 125/152.

Diane - I am like you, I need workout sheets so I know what's coming. I hate doing a workout and not knowing what to expect. I also am organizing the RAW workouts because you said there were some workouts in the list of all the workouts that are not categorized. So that is how I found the one I did today. I can't wait to try the 1:1 Heavy Bag workout. Looks fun! I went to Giant Eagle and I felt very safe there finally. All employees were wearing masks and they have aisles going one way only so you don't pass anyone. I'm glad I went because doing curbside is getting old. The cost is always higher than what my cart says it should be and I don't get part of the stuff I ordered. Even though I hate to grocery shop, at least I can pick up what I need and I can see what they actually have. I also move around a lot while doing boxing. I can't stand still for too long. I like to shuffle when she is resting.

Belinda - Yuck, that is awful work to organize pictures, etc. I don't do it. LOL!! I have a mess on my phone!

Roselyn - Yea, it is a shame all of this is happening now when you just get your license. Like Diane asked, how on earth can you cut and be safe? Masks help I, suppose, but they are a pain to wear all day long. I feel bad for you. :(

Jolie - Woohoo! Nice workouts, girl, you are kicking butt! You burn some amazing calories when you workout. That is cool that your state is having Trump rallies, I thought California didn't like him all that much? I'm sure it's like everywhere else, some do and some don't. I seen a really cool boat brigade in Florida with miles of boats moving along the water with Trump flags and signs, it was really amazing to see. I miss his rallies too.

Well, have a great workout everyone!!!

Hi everyone,

DH and I did CL 229 Awesome UB + Step Boss stacked abs. I will go for a walk later. Today is my birthday. I am sad I can't see my kids on my bday or mother's day.

Debbie - I cleaned up/deleted everything on my iPhone. I don't have enough storage on my phone. What's taking up that much space is all the Others on your phone not so much the pictures. I already uploaded everything into iCloud. I can't figure out how to delete the OTHERS without losing all my data. The Others are your catche/other stuff websites puts on your phone a.s.o. Reseting my phone will wipe everything out. I am still researching that crap. All your apps take up a lot space in the others. They collect data. I may have to delete/reset my phone if that keeps it up. Great job today.

Happy Birthday to you Belinda! What do you have planned for the day?

Today I had an AWESOME workout!!! I did Yvette's HiiT/Heavy Weights/ Stability Ball, 40 seconds cardio on the step or floor, 8 to 12 reps of weights like clean and press, triceps ext., deadlifts, bicep curls and much more. I would say that the workout focus more on legs, about 75% and I was glad since I wanted to target more legs since I am doing CL upper body tomorrow. Workout was 1 hour 15 minutes and I burned 739 calories. I did not do the high impact moves, I did something lower impact or I jumped on my rowing machine and the highest resistance and rowed. I am spent :) Average heart rate was 131 and max was 183. This is one of her hardest workouts that I have done thus far. I love it but I wont be walking well tomorrow.

Debbie, nice Tabata workout today. I too like to know what's coming next so I can get set up and not loose time trying to get ready for the next exercise. There are a ton of people that love Trump in CA, its that there are more Trump haters unfortunately. They opened the beaches yesterday for exercise and surfing! I went on a walk with my DH and dog it was beautiful. They are starting to open restaurants that have outdoor seating so I cant wait for the hair salons to open up. I am not worried about getting sick so I am ready to et out and start living again. The virus has a hard time living in warmer weather so I think in CA we should really start to see it go away.

Belinda, how fun to workout with your DH. Mine would never workout with me, not even if I begged him :( Oh well, my boys do so that is ok.

Roselyn, I am so glad you got to get out with your parents. I am seeing mine on Saturday I think in the mountains for a BBQ. My parents are in their 80's but they are really healthy so they aren't worried about getting together outside. Way to go on your BB workout.

Doreen and Diane Sue, i will BBL to read your posts.

Happy Monday and enjoy the day.

Just checking in late today. I did CL #220 Lower Body- Upper Body Dumbell challenge this morning. This is the last day of the 6 months of CL I signed up for. I'm thinking I'll take a break from it for a while and either go back to Youtube stuff or other free services that are currently offered.

I had a Dr. appt today to get a rash checked out. Weird - You have to wear a mask, get temp taken at check in. They took a biopsy and skin scrape to send for testing. I'll find out in about 2 weeks.

This morning I did Coffey Fit Raw Box and Tone, 31 minutes, 152 calories, heart rate 123/163, wearing a 4 Lb vest, 2,532 steps. I then did Raw Descending Pyramid Upper Body. I realized last night that I did not have this one written down. For some reason I kept thinking of Ascending Pyramid. I liked this one so much better. I think it came out when I was having all of the neck and shoulder issues so bad and knew I could not do it.
Descending Pyramid was 69 minutes (actual 60 minutes) heart rate 95/ 124, 1,569 steps, 160 calories. Kelly does have worksheets on her website for this which is helpful. I finished with Fit Bit Ease Upper Body Tension 16 minutes, 45 calories, 11 steps. I also did some major foam rolling.

Raw Descending Pyramid
the worksheet has 3 sets and a column for notes, but this has 4 sets of each exercise. It moves quickly as it is 40/20 the 20 is used for a break between or you follow Kelly and do abs. Kelly tries to get more reps with each set as you lower the weight. Requires a bench or step. I made notes on suggestions by Kelly and will ad them to a fresh work sheet and put it in my notebook. Kelly suggests for shorter workouts doing back and shoulders as a workout and chest and triceps as a workout. She says she would skip the biceps as they are worked doing the other work. She puts biceps in for those who like to have the biceps.

One arm Back row 15#/22 reps; 12#/25 reps; 20#/26 reps; 8# / 50 reps followed by abs knee in off bench
repeat on left side weights and abs

Cable or Dumbbell rows 15#Dbs/19 reps; 12# Dbs/17 reps wider; 12# dbs even wider/ 15 reps; 12# close reverse grip 17 reps; abs are drop plank between each set and final just plank hold (could have went heavier I think)

Shoulder Press (if shoulder problems do upright row) 12# dbs /12 reps; 10#/8 reps; 8#/12 reps; 5# 10 reps
lower leg lifts done between sets

lateral raise 10# dbs/10; 8#dbs/15 reps; 5# dbs 18 reps; 5# dbs more of a pulse 43 reps abs between crunches

bent over lateral raise-(Kelly lays prone on step and does the lateral raises suggest you can use a ball)
8# dbs 12 reps ; 5# dbs 12 reps; 5# 12 reps; 5# 13 reps abs between flip over and do scissors

Skull Crushers 12# dbs 13 reps; 10# dbs 15 reps; 8# dbs 13 reps; 5# dbs run the skull crushers
abs between was sit ups with the weights on the bench

Tate Press (T) 12# dbs 11 reps; 10# dbs 13 reps; 8# dbs 15 reps; 5# dbs 29 reps (again short quick movement)
abs between sets was upper and lower crunch

chest flyes 12# dbs 12 reps; 10# dbs 15 reps; 8# dbs 16 reps; 5# dbs 49 reps abs bicycles

Bench Press 12# dbs 14 reps; 10# dbs 18 reps; 8# dbs 23 reps; 5# dbs alternating run abs Russian twist between sets

Hammer Curls 12# dbs 13 reps; 10# dbs 15 reps; 8# dbs 23 reps; 5# dbs run press; side to side bends abs between sets

Front Curls 12# dbs 10 reps; 10# dbs 13 reps; 8# dbs 15 reps; 5# dbs 75 reps run curls

Good Evening,

I tried Beachbody 10 Rounds WK3 Cardio Footwork (angles) they did a mirror image workout so it was a little easier but still confused on the punches. I had a toenail removed last week because it was about to fall off. Went to my oldest DD’s house to help get things ready for our move in.
