Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for JUNE 2022!!

Wow June 1 already. I have only 11 days to go! Woo hoo!

I was involved in another car accident yesterday. I think I have a sign on my car that says "HIT ME". I was stopped while waiting for someone 2 cars in front of me to turn left and someone from behind didn't realize I was stopped and just ran into me. How ridiculous. I knew the guy, he works at our Advanced Auto Parts store but he didn't know me. He felt really bad about it and apologized over and over again. I told him things happen but I am so upset about this. Now I have to get it into a collision place and get it fixed AGAIN. Geez.

My last PT appointment was last night and I'm doing pretty good, I just need to keep up with my exercises. I did some this morning after my kickboxing and I always feel so much better after I do them. So weird.

This morning I did RAW Kickboxing Outside and had a great workout. I haven't done that one in a long time, it's fun.

Workout was 41 minutes, burned 348 calories, did 4320 steps and HR was 134/166.

Stuff is blowing up here at work, I'll try to do personals later on today.

Debbie - what a bummer!!! Are you ok? You didn't mention...

My daughter goes to test for her driver's license today. I was worried when my son started driving but she freaks me out!!! She'll start out driving my old Jeep Grand Cherokee- which was already totaled out by hail a couple years ago but insurance is still going to go through the roof. And gas for another car....

We went paddle boarding over the weekend and my dog jumped off and dunked my phone - so now it won't boot up.... and to top everything off the motor on the boat died while we were out this weekend and so now that has to go to the shop too!! Seriously - I can't keep up with all the bills!!

Anyway- I did a 25 minute endurance ride this morning on Ifit at Lake Tahoe.

Doreen - I'm good. I didn't see it coming, I was tlaking on the phone with my husband and just got hit all of a sudden. Since I wasn't expecting it, I didn't tighten my muscles like instinct makes you do and I just bobbed forward a bit. I'm fine today, not sore at all. Thanks for asking!

It is scary when kids start driving. Good luck to you!

Debbie - Oh no, I am so sorry this happened to you. I am glad you ok. I hope I hope your car will be fixed soon.

Today I did CDorner, #210 sizzling step, 34 minutes, 149 calories, heart rate 115/138, 3,207 steps. I then did PT exercises for 39 minutes, 82 calories, heart rate 83/107. Total times was 73 minutes, 231 calories. I really felt my calorie burn should have been higher this morning for the step workout which was an intermediate workout. I did not sleep well last night, or should I say this morning. Tons of thunder cracking, power off and on, and my dog came to the bedroom whimpering. Then on top of it my side, breast and neck all were hurting. I hurt so bad last night I came close to making an appointment with my primary doctor. Then I start worrying about what it is, and what if they do tests and I need more surgery. I took Advil and some of it let up.

Belinda, nice work with RWH legs today.

Debbie, I am sorry someone hit your car. How frustrating. Raw Kickboxing outside is a fun workout. Great workout today. I feel better after my PT exercises, but it seems the pain comes back a few hours later.

Doreen, it sounds like you really had everything hit at once. I cannot imagine keeping up insurance and gas right now. Costs are through the roof. Ouch on the phone landing in the water. I hope that you can get some relief.

Good morning,

RWH CST is done.

Diane - nice job on your step workout yesterday. Maybe make that appointment? You shouldn't be in so much pain. I am so sorry you are going through so much. Hope you feel better.

Waving Hi to everyone that checks in after me.

This morning I did RAW Upper Body Blast and had a great workout. This one flyes by, it's only 30 minutes but I took longer breaks because Kelly goes from one exercise to another and I just need time to regroup between exercises. No biggie. She also says this is a superset workout, but it really isn't. She does one exercise for 4 sets, 30 seconds on 10 off and then moves to the next exercise. The reason she says it's a superset is because you are working opposing muscles with each consecutive exercise. It doesn't matter, it was a great workout.

A couple of exercises used a barbell. I haven't used my barbell in AGES. In fact, it had a spider web on it when I got it out of the corner of my workout room. LMAO!!

4 sets - 30 seconds on/10 seconds off

Barbell Bench Press: 25#
Shoulder Press: 10's
Dumbbell Flies: 12's
Lateral Raise: 8's
Skate & Curl: 8's
Squat/Hammer Curl/Jump: 8's (I did firewalkers between curls and no jump)
Barbell Row: 25#
Dips: Skipped
Seated Reverse Flies: 10's
Skull Crushers: 8's
V-Situps

Workout was 41 minutes, burned 340 calories, did 584 steps and HR was 132/160. Last time I did this workout i had my FB and it showed I burned 104 calories. What a huge difference this new watch is!

Belinda - Great job with your workout yesterday and this morning. Is Caroline doing a new rotation? Will you do it when she starts a new one?

Doreen - Sorry to hear about the boat and phone issues. Damn girl! When it rains it pours. Hope you can get it all fixed soon!

Diane - How are you feeling today? What is it with that pain you are feeling? I was really hoping after your surgery you would be good to go. With all the rest you had (other than PT), I would have thought any other issues would have taken care of themselves. I wonder what is going on? I'm so sorry you are still going through pain. That isn't fair.

Hi to everyone else! Gotta go back to work. Have a great day!!

Yesterday was my rest day for the week. Today is my 56th birthday and that in itself is mind boggling, I swear I feel like 40 years old instead. My husband left for work this morning and obviously forgot, he never said a thing! We have been together for 30 years so you would think this day on the calendar might mean something right? He is so busy at work that I think he was preoccupied this morning. Oh well, my parents always call first thing in the morning and sing for me! :) Today I had a fantastic workout, I did Illaria's Powerstrike #5 with 1# gloves and kicked butt!!! Workout was 1 hour, I had to pause about 8 times, not kidding, and I burned 544 calories. I probably won't be able to move tomorrow, there were so many kicks I could barely lift my legs at the end to finish the kicking. Now I remember why I was in such good shape years ago; it is time to get back on the fitness train again. Anyways, I am dripping wet after this workout.

Debbie, so sorry to hear about your accident, I hope everything turns out ok with you and your car. Great job on the workout today. I cannot wait for you to be on your summer break and not have to rush through your workouts.

Doreen, We have 5 cars and trucks and with the insurance of two young men it costs a bloody fortune!!!!!!! Good luck to your daughter and her drivers test.

Belinda, great job on the workout today!

Diane Sue, I hope you are feeling well today, and wow on the pain issue lately. I am so sorry that you have to go through this, recovery is tuff stuff.

Make it a wonderful day!

Jolie- Yup- we're at 4 cars and a boat with 2 teenagers on insurance. Crossing all fingers and toes cause a claim would make the premiums worse!!

I did a 10 minute metcon workout this morning from an old paper program Lift Weights Faster and then did a 30 minute bike ride.

I uncovered yesterday that IFit will be filming a bike race that runs through my neighborhood this summer! I will try to do the route myself and then do it on the bike when it releases to see how different it is in real life!!

Today I did a mish mosh of workouts. I started CDorner Cardio Dance-Dance Monkey 15 minutes and decided it was not what I wanted to do, heart rate 112/144, 66 calories, 1,304 steps. To much work learning the moves. I then did Coffey Fit Raw Cardio Quick fix which is from another of her newer cardio workouts in her garage, but a shortened version, 19 minutes, heart rate 125/149, 103 calories, 1,383 steps. I followed with Raw glegs and glutes finisher, 20 minutes, heart rate 106/127, 73 calories, 248 steps. I finished with Raw Stretch finisher and the first part of 5 day strength stretch, 20 minutes, heart rate, 77/91, 34 calories.
Total time was 74 minutes, 276 calories, 2,935 steps. I had to call the voter registration county office as the post office seems to have lost our new voter cards I would not have known we were getting them except usps informed delivery had them on it and they changed our polling place. I am glad I saw that. I wonder where the cards went. Odd that they lost both of our cards.
I will be glad when they get done building houses behind us. All day long, music, hammering, concrete trucks, vehicles in and out. No quiet enjoyment going outside except on the weekend, unless they decide to work overtime.
Also the Raw Cardio Quick fix was impact moves, jacks running butt kicker, long jump, speed skater, etc, with a pause in the middle of thrusters and mountain climbers and then back down the ladder.

Legs and Glutes finisher timed

squats 15# dbs 15 reps followed by
non-weight fast squats feet forward and feet angled

front lunge 15# dbs pulses and singles
non-weight lunge reach

reverse lunge 15# dbs down up down
non-weight reverse lunge with reach down toward foot

lunge/side /set alternating sides 10# dbs 6 reps each side then repeated

non-weight split jump/out in jack alternating sides

1 leg bridge no weight
bridge with feet on dumbbells

Jolie, Happy Birthday!! Sorry your husband didn't say anything. I bet he makes up for it when he comes home. That is sweet that your parents call and sing happy birthday to you. It sounds like you got in a good tough workout today and a great calorie burn. I am glad we don't have to buy insurance for our children anymore. Ours is pretty low for just the two of us. I remember the car stuff with my children. We helped some with gas, but they had to get jobs for most of that. We just promised to keep up the insurance and car payments as long as they went on to college.

Belinda, I came close to calling my doctor. Nice work with RWH Chest.

Debbie, that looks like a good workout. I haven't used my barbell in so long either. Actually I gave my son in law the longer 15# bar and 25# plates. I still have plenty of plates and kept the Les Mills Pump barbell that weighs 5# alone and is shorter. It is more space friendly and can be loaded heavy. I pulled out the bar itself recently to use for the reverse grip pullover move and other rotator move they had me doing with a weight bar (shorter) at PT. So, spider webs are gone. I did find a dead spider under it though. LOL Believe me I was hoping to be free from pain after recovering from the surgery. It is pretty much the other side of me that is causing the problems other than the upper back and neck issue. I slept better last night after adjusting my sleeping stuff and leaving off the elevated sleep wedge. I kept the neck pillow and the wedge for my legs so I would not be sliding down and sort of crushing my middle and pulling my head forward. But, I got up realizing I did not sleep enough and fell asleep in the recliner and woke with the breast and under arm area pain. It let up when I got up and around. I keep reading things and trying to figure it out. I am sure more tests are coming. I need time to get my shoulder strength back up and fully healed back to where it was. Any other procedure would be a big set back. Plus I am not up for it.

Doreen, that would be fun to see how the workout feels after riding the path yourself. Hopefully your children are careful drivers. My granddaughter had had wild hogs run out in front of her VW and totalled it. I won't go into my childrens accidents. It seemed they all had to have at least one. Not necessarily their fault though.

Yesterday I took a 2 mile walk. Today I took a 2 mile walk at lunchtime and after work I did Michelle Briehler 40 min Full Body Trisets.

Happy Birthday Jolie! Hope you're having a fun day. Good workout today.

Debbie, glad you are ok. That sucks! People on the road...scary. Glad you are ok. Good workout.

Doreen, oh no. Not the phone. I don't know how much more we can take with this economy. It's really depressing.

Diane, good workout. Sorry you are in so much pain.

Belinda, good workouts this week. I thought you would do Caroline's Fuel workouts, or are you taking advantage of old favorites for a change of pace?

Absolutely gorgeous weather here the past couple days. I wish I would have taken the whole week off.

Today I decided to do one of Kelly's DVD workout. I'm so glad she has most of them posted on her channel. I seem to only be able to do boxing workouts since high impact right now (or step workouts) are a no no. I am trying to slowly bring myself up into a higher impact mode but doing it slowly. I did KCM's Total Body Kickboxing workout 1. It was fun and had some slight high impact moves in it which I tried. Both knees didn't like it but I was able to do some. I know I did this workout at some point because I have the DVD but I don't remember it. It was easy to follow, though. I want to do workout 2 next week, that one looks good too.

Workout was 30 minutes, burned 273 calories, did 3406 steps and HR was 140/156.

I also did my PT exercises. My knee always feels so much better afterwards.

Jolie - Happy 56th! You caught up with me! Yikes, isn't it scary? I still can't believe I am almost 60 years old. Doesn't sit well with me. LOL!! Did your husband eventually remember? Sometimes we have so much on our minds and the days fly by so fast, we forget what day it is. Hopefully he remembered. My mom calls me every birthday and sings to me as well. I will miss that when she passes on. :( Hope you had a great birthday!

Diane - LOL on the spider under your barbell! I need to use mine more, things feel different when using a barbell. I can interchange dumbbells and the barbell for lots of exercises. Hope you are feeling better today, great job on your workout mish mosh yesterday!

Cam - You are right, people suck and why can't anyone drive anymore? Geez. Just keep your eye on the road, that's all you have to do. So ridiculous that I have to go through all of this yet again. Oh well.

Doreen - I'm glad we don't have kids at home anymore. We have two cars, two motorcycles and a boat. My husband is thinking of getting a car with better gas mileage (we all know why) because his F150 is a gas hog. So we will probably end up with one more car. That being said, our insurance is not bad at all. Good luck to you with all that!

Belinda - Hope you have a great workout today!

Roxie - Hope you are doing good, get any workouts in lately?

Roselyn - Hope you are having a great time!

Well, hope you all have a great day and weekend! So glad it's Friday!!!

Hi everyone,

My husbands cousin beat brain cancer over a year go. He was doing fine until a few day's ago, now he is in hospice. DH and I been trying to fly, which was a disaster with the airlines. Just to keep it short, there wasn't a direct flight. Too many layovers. DD was suppose to fly in yesterday. DH and I been watching her dog, her flight got canceled. She was told due to weather. Go figure! She got stranded at the airport in NY got a fight out this morning. DH and I thought we surprise DD and dropped her dog off, she called up while we drove in our driveway :( We didn't had a choice to turn around and stay with Cooper. DH and I are packing our stuff than we heading to Kansas City. My husband was very close to his cousin. We always did things together. It's so sad! My heart is broken. I didn't sleep much last night. We didn't get to bed until 12:30 am. His cousin almost didn't make it last night. I hope we still can see him. The drive is about 14 hours. I will check in when I can.

Belinda, I am so sorry to hear about your husband's cousin. I will be praying for him and the family.

Today I did an older workout that I always liked. Les Mills Pump Sports Attack which is one of the 3 bonus cardio workouts, 31:41 minutes, 149 calories, heart rate 119/154, 3,858 steps. I then did Fit Tower Advanced Lean and Mean that I got with my Fit Tower, substituting PT exercises for pull ups and push-ups, also the only ab work I did was the seated side to side with the band. Time for this was 37 minutes, 103 calories, heart rate 95/120, 872 steps. Total time 68 minutes, 252 calories, 4,730 steps. I forgot that the Fit Tower workouts with the tower were all shorter than the usual 1 hour ones. Although the 1 hour ones do have shorter premixes. I used the tower for some of my stretches today.

Cam, nice work with Michelle Breihler tri-sets and the walk yesterday.

Debbie, I forget which Kelly dvds have my most favorite moves on them. I still want to purchase the newest strength dvd even though it is on her Raw channel. Someday I will. Nice work today. The workout I did today has some high impact stuff in it, but they do have a modifier for that.

Birthday update. No, my husband and my youngest son did not remember my birthday. When I told my husband he actually had tears in his eyes, he was so mad at himself for forgetting. All my husband thinks about is work, he works about 12 to 16 hours a day, so he has a lot on his plate; so I understand and am over it. He did make up for it today and gave me money to buy the espresso machine that I have been wanting for years but am too cheap to buy it. :) My son came home from college yesterday for 5 weeks before he goes back to start his Masters degree. I am really happy, actually this is the best birthday present ever!

Today's workout was CL # 25 Strong Upper Body with Core and had a fantastic workout. I love all of Cathe's older workouts more than her newer ones, they are more traditional weightlifting classes which I like more than Compound moves and things like that. I am trying to regain muscle mass, so this type of workout works best. Workout was 1hour and I burned 458 calories. This is a tuff core/ab workout, I had to sub out a few exercises to accommodate my low back. I will do this one again for sure!

Belinda, sorry to hear about your husband's cousin. Keep us updated and I will pray for him.

Diane Sue, you are doing great with your workouts. I have never done the Les Mills workout you did the other day, was that with the DVD packet from years ago or on demand? Kids are so expensive to raise, I do not know how people have more than two, how do they do it!

Cam, great news on your weather being lovely, doesn't it just lift your mood up compared to when it is dreary outside? Nice job on the workout and walk yesterday. I want to do a beach walk tomorrow with my son that is home from college, it is a great way to get in a good and long conversation.

Debbie, nice job on the kickboxing workout yesterday. I was very tired after the one I did on Thursday, I hadn't done one in a while and boy were my legs feeling all of the kicks! At least my back feels ok, I wore a back support brace and it really seems to be helping keep my back supported. I cannot believe we are this old, I certainly do not feel it, only in my workouts but not in life. I remember following you when you turned 40, I think it was round when you were really in the body building segment of your life. I could not believe how much you could curl for Biceps, I used to just be in awe of you!!!

Make it a great day. It is overcast and foggy hear today but a heat wave is coming next week.

This morning was PHA 3. I think this may be my favorite Cathe workout. It is a tough one for me, but I have increased my strength and matched her weights today, but for upper body I slowed down the reps a bit. I don't want to jeopardize my neck.

Jolie, sorry about your Birthday being forgotten. My husband isn't big on birthdays either but he's gotten better. Good job with CL. I don't care for her compound stuff much either.

Belinda, Sorry for your loss. Hope you made it in time. Flying right now is crazy.

Diane, good workout with Les Mills. I love rediscovering workouts. I just eyed up Paul Katami Build & Burn. I had it in my "get rid of" pile, because his incessant talking drove me nuts, but I realized he has music off and I can blast my own music and lower his voice. I am doing that one soon. I remember it being tough and a bit of a dread but my tastes have changed a little.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Good Afternoon,

I did BeachBody Country Heat Country Swing. Running to a lot of grandsons ball games I have 3 of them now one plays baseball 2 play t-ball. This is only the second workout this month.

Debbie- there have been a lot of people around us dying in car accidents people are to busy looking at their phones and not paying attention.

Today I did CDorner Step from this morning "Queen" 57 minutes, 116/136 heart rate, 237 calories, 4,291 steps. This one had a lot more cha, cha, cross over the steps and around than most. So, I lost footing quite a bit. She had a woman from Africa and a guy she has had on a few times. He lost his footing and once stepped out of the camera before he came back to get his footing back. After this I did Cathe Perfect Flow Timesaver yoga strength and flexibility, 20 minutes, 33 calories, heart rate 77/97. Total time 77 minutes, 260 calories.
My pulmonologist sent a letter canceling my appointment as she is doing something else in the field due to changes at the heart hospital because of the pandemic impact and restructure of the pulmonary department. So, she sent me 3 suggestions for doctors. Only one works out of that hospital the others are not located close. I guess I have to see what to do about my appointment for the lung scan to check on the nodules. I was supposed to go next month. If I get another pulmonologist, it will be my 3rd since I started being monitored. The first retired. Couldn't blame him.

Jolie, I understand being so busy that life gets in the way. I am sorry your husband forgot. He got you a great present. I am sure that you will enjoy it. What a nice present having your son home for a few weeks. Great weight workout. I am not usually a fan of compound move workouts. I have to go much lighter when doing the moves and it seems standard body part weight work is best for really building some muscle. The workout yesterday was the dvd packet from the bonus set that I purchased with it. I am missing the flow workout that was in the set. I am thinking I loaned it to my dil. This was the first time I had done a combat workout as that is one of the three cardio workouts. This set was done before Les Mills Combat. I bought the bonus set to that one too. It seems I always go to the bonus workouts a lot. I had three children and it took my husband working second jobs and me doing child care. We had friends that had 12 children!!

Cam, I have done several get rid of piles of workouts. When we moved this time I got rid of more and also dumped most of my music cds. I never listen to them and can get most songs online. I just kept some Christmas ones. Every once in awhile I will think about a certain workout and then remember that I got rid of it. Does your doctor say it is okay to do things like overhead press? My shoulder gets achy if I try too much yet and then my neck hurts as well.

Roxie, the month just started, hope that you can get in more workouts. It is fun watching the grandchildren play sports.

Happy Sunday. Today I went for a 4.4 mile walk outside through the hills and burned 712 calories, walk was 1 hour and 31 minutes. Now, time to BBQ since the weather is so beautiful. The ocean today looks like I live in Hawaii, it is such a beautiful color. Cheers to some downtime.
