Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Friday June 4

Cathlete
Morning Maniacs-

This morning I did Tracy's Original Mat Workout. I added on a Cathe stretch at the end. Workout was 75" and I burned 470 calories. Max HR was 139. I wore my 1 lb ankle weights and used 3 lb DBs for the arm segment. This is my fave of her workouts as it has a somewhat better w/u and c/d and the a...rm segment is long! The leg segment is also split up. You do standing legs, then standing abs (rib isolations) and standing arms and then go down to the floor for some more legs and abs. The music is really nice on this one. It's good on her new ones too, but the music is the same on all three so it gets a bit old.

Deb - I answered your question on yesterday's thread. I posted links also.

Lori - that's okay that you brought it up again....the job stuff. Yes, I know, Dillards sucks. Good ol' family old business that only cares about numbers and not their good peeps. Oh well...such is life.

Hi to everyone else. Working early today and late tomorrow. I'm sort of spoiled as I've worked days most of the week and I've gotten into the routine of it......and now tomorrow I close.....depressing. I have a lot of nights next week also.

Today was cardio and I needed something quick because I'm taking my mom to the doc's to get her hip measurement. I chose STS Kickbox + Core Conditioning. This is an ok workout but it sure doesn't get my HR up. Even the blasts only get me to about 141 bpm. But I still like doing this workout, it's fun.

HR STATS w/Cardio & Abs:
52 minutes total
15 minutes below zone
34 minutes in zone
3 minutes above zone
345 calories burned

Lora - Thanks, I'll check it out!

Hope you all have a great Friday!

Lora-I just read yesterday, sorry about the job. However, could it possibly be a blessing in disguise? Glad you had a good workout today.

Debbie-I like the Shock Kickbox workout for days when I dont' want to try and kill myself. that 's still not a bad burn for a shorter workout.

Lori-seems like you got your mojo back yesterday :p Good for you, GSL is not easy. And thanks on the dh stuff, it is really nice to have him work out w/ me. I think I may be on to a plan where we alternate more (w/ tabata, trx, kettlebell, standard weights, etc......) I am still working it out in my brain, it may be awhile :p

Yesterday was cardio and I did Cardio Kicbox challenge. workout was 48 min and I burned 512 calories (or 516). This workout flew by-it is more fun than I anticipated :)

Happy Friday to everyone

Theresa - not trying to sound like a smart A@*, but actually the situation before with being in Clarins & Fragrance was a win-win situation, as it was just giving me extra sales that i wouldn't have gotten with just being in Fragrance, and I actually got double credit for each Clarins sale...which could have really helped my Sales Per Hour goal. It sucks......but then doesn't life sometimes? I'm stressed right now cuz DH came home from work (the job he hates) and said he's gonna quit and go out and get a minimum wage job. I'm very nervous as our bills can't withstand that sort of blow.

TGIF!!

I just wanted to drop a quick post before the "official weekend" begins. It was sooooo nice to wake up this morning at Camp 2 (close to home) to the sounds of the bull frogs and peepers. I also remembered my sneakers and did HIIT (the first two 40/20 and 30/20?), which was about 60 min including c/d. I really like combining these two workouts - really difficult!! I was drenched with sweat when done and all of the plyo leg work really kicked my butt (literally). I have GS Legs planned for tomorrow (should have been today, but I'm a day behind) and then Cardio Fusion for Sunday. I had to take my "day off" on Wed. this week - yuk.

I don't have time for personals as I have patients (ummmmm....right now), but I hope everyone has a great weekend. 'See' you all on Monday.

Cheryl :)

Lora-CRAP......... I had this totally confused w/ something else, I meant NO offense so please forgive my stupidity. I hope things get better ASAP, I cannot even imagine the stress you are under.

Cheryl-two HIITs back to back  You go for it. Have a great weekend.

Posted late last night (workout and personals). Gym Style Chest and Triceps today. I have something else on my Workout Manager but can't remember what for sure (kb's maybe).

Theresa - I find my mojo ... and then misplace it again ... all day long (worse than car keys  ). Thank you for sending me some yesterday though - it must have hit me directly. I'd think working with your DH WOULD be really nice - add a new element/life to it - for both of you. I'm partly selfish in my interest - I learn/pick up a good deal from your experience and you come up with stuff that's new to me. I keep meaning to ask if you've ever run across MbodyStrength - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJ3xMuX0dLE

I think I just gave you a youtube link .. Their site is way cool -

http://www.youtube.com/user/MBodySt...w=kettlebell&gclid=CKqAjsj2yqACFRk45wodSGlJZg

That's a better link. They have all kinds of free workouts posted. The advanced kb bootcamps 1-3 looks really great. You may have to poke around a bit in the archives to find them. A few unusual twists (at least I've not seen them before - but I'm so new at this). I thought it might give you some ideas at least, for you and DH. These guys are crazy strong though and fun to watch ;)

Debbie - My opinion's about the same as yours (and Theresa's) on the kickboxing workout. I like it but it's not intense. Might be a good one after Gym Style today, actually. I wish the third combo was longer - it's my favorite one and so ... boppy :p (must be better descriptive than that but it isn't coming to me  ). I'm glad your mom's surgery is getting closer. I'll bet it's been a long wait for both of you. I've kept you in my prayers :)

Lora - I don't know - I keep waiting for a turn around for you (and your DH). Surely one will come soon. Dang. I feel pretty inept just commenting on your workouts: "Great workout today, Lora [insert big smiley]!!!" But, your workouts ARE great - you're always doing new stuff and you keep ... doing - keeping at it. That's what's amazing to me. Moreover, there's probably nothing I can say that wouldn't sound a bit canned, regardless of my sincerity or intent. I'm glad you stay with this check-in. That's for sure.

Cheryl - Have a great weekend. Good going on the double HIIT ;) :D.

BBL -

Lori

ETA - Theresa - If you click on 'playlists' and then, 'kb workouts' - that'll get yah there. You may already be familiar with this site, in which case I'm providing a bevy of useless info  . One never knows though :)

I must be losing my mind. I posted on yesterdays posts. Saw some late posts and thought I was in the right place.

Grandchildren spent the night so got to bed late. Got somewhat of a workout in. Was annoyed with the calorie burn. Once I did a few minutes of Yoga Meltdown I was ready to quit when my grandbaby started calling for me. DH got her up and was getting ready to go to work. She was so unhappy to have Papa leaving. DH called later when Olivia was having a nap and my grandsons and I were playing Rummicube. We finished t off with a close game:D Got the grandbaby up and went to meet Papa for lunch. She did not want to go home. She kept telling me to "stop Nana" when I pulled into their neighborhood. I guess she was having a lot of fun:D Bill 3 and I went back to town to do some shopping. I really do need to do some house cleaning before the weekend gets going:eek:
Workout was MMA Kickbox 51 minutes 276 calories( I have had 329 with this.
icon_confused.gif
Then 12 minutes of Yoga Meltdown Level 2 32 calories. Total calories burned was 308 and workout was 63 minutes.
I had grilled chicken

Debbie, I have to say you did better than me. I guess if allergies were not going crazy and shoulders, arms and legs weren't sore(maybe that is everything) plus lack of sleep, maybe it could have been better?? Right now it is one of those days that I really do not care so much. Maybe tomorrow.

Lori, my mojo comes and goes. I can feel totally wiped out and feel energetic a couple of hours later. Never can figure that out. Just do not want the energy at bed time which sometimes happens.

Lora, I have learned a lot about the department store cosmetic business from you. I feel bad about the women that I have walked by with samples. Although I usually was wanting to go somewhere else. Most of the time it is whoever is there first(as I am sure you know) if I am looking for a particular item. I am sorry things are not going well. I hope your dh stays where he is at till he finds something else decent.

Cheryl, I know you have explained about the job. But still trying to figure out the camp. Is this just a family camp or camp/camps that you have others there?? Sounds like a lot of activity. I am glad you are enjoying all of it.

Diane Sue - :D . I didn't even realize how late it was when I posted last night (- and then Lora yet after me, didn't she?). I can see how it might have confused you. I hope to be a grandma that gets that kind of response (little one's not wanting to leave me). It sounds like you had a lot of fun. Also, that energy at bedtime thing happens to me way too often. A lot of times I feel more energetic around ten at night than I did all day  I get flustered because in one sense, it seems a shame not to take advantage of it and use it to get things done. But then, that just perpetuates my wacky sleep cycle by keeping me up and active. I can't figure it out either - or for that matter, why calorie burns can vary so much from workout to workout. It is probably better I just don't know mine. I'd likely drive myself nuts over it. Last time I was at Walmart, I'd planned to pick up Yoga Meltdown, but they were sold out. I have to go there again today to get some gardening stuff and kitty litter - maybe they re-stocked.

Hope everyone's having a good Friday.

Lori

Theresa - no worries about the job comment!

Lori - Thanks for trying to say something to make it better. You are always so kind!

RE: the job situation. The Assistant Manager comes down today and walks up to me and says - How's Clarins' going. When I told her the situation....she says...no, no, that is not true. Mike (the big store manager) said you are to be in Clarins and Fragrance......anyway, I told her to let me know after she gets it confirmed (from Corporate), as my manager had a meeting with all of the cosmetic bay employees and told them I wasn't going to Clarins and that anyone could sell over there. I tell ya.........this place is ridiculous. I already had to FIGHT for my sales over there in the beginning...so if they do decide AGAIN to put me back over there and in fragrance, I'll have to fight again to get my sales!! I hate confrontation and all this teritorial "street" fighting (LOL - that's how I was thinking about it the other day when I had to go off on the one lady - what was that old movie with the Street Gangs....?? West Side Story? This is Southern Park Mall Story!!).

I hope this even makes sense.........cuz it's confusing.

Hey there everyone

Hope you all are having a good Friday. For today I went to "Yogaworks Slim" at 7:30 this morning. It was definitely earlier than I wanted to get up, but it was worth it. It's a really challenging class (even though I think she toned it down a bit this week) and it was nice to get the workout done right away. Made me feel accomplished, lol.

Lora, I didn't know your DH hates his job...that sucks. That's gotta be really frustrating for him, and then of course for both of you cuz if he gets a minimum wage job, like you said, it'll be hard to pay bills on that. I hope something turns around with that situation. It sounds tough.

Lori, I get that same thing with energy late...grrr! It's frustrating cuz I'm often on a morning schedule at work, and even if I'm not teaching early, my fiance works early so it would be best for me to be on a morning schedule to see him more. It just doesn't seem to be my natural time of energy, but then I'm sure the frequency with which I don't get enough sleep contributes to that.

I think I may actually be sore from this yoga class tomorrow...lol. If so maybe I'll do a rest day tomorrow, but I was going to try to do total body weights. I shall see.

=)
