Hardcore Fitness Maniacs Check In for Wed 5-24

Lora,

You didn't!!!! I cannot believe you! Don't be announcing that stuff! OMG! }( :7 YIKES!

O.k., I am home now and I am not sure if I want to do supersets or just do biceps/shoulders/triceps from various videos...o.k...it is settled..that is what I will do and then coremax 3.

Charlotte~~

Okay, now I'm ready to cry. I was in my bosses office filing and she asked me if I'm pregnant!!!! My pants are a bit tight....but my goodness!!!

This morning I did Bowflex and free weights (my Bowflex ones). I did chest, back, shoulders, triceps, biceps and abs. I did the Body for Life pyramid way (12 reps, then heavier for 10 reps, 8 reps, 6 reps and back to the 8 rep weight for 12 reps and then switch to another exercise for one set of the same muscle). I think it was a good workout. I was groaning. :)

Lora - thanks for the link to the webiste. I'll check it out. I've only done The Firm yoga one a few times and that's the extent of my yoga. As for your working out issue - do you think that maybe you just never give your body a chance to rebuild from all the breaking down you do to it? Maybe there is just no way you can make progress without taking a day off???

Jeanette are you getting exicted about your century?

Diane Sue - looking forward to your movie review.

Dallas - sorry about your mess. And your DH - shame on him! They just don't think like we do on how disgusting that actually is.

Nicole - I can't wait to hear your review on the TJ rotation. I haven't tried any of those workouts but hear so much about them here. So what kind of workouts are they? Anyone???

Sandy - I'm pretty sure I've said it here before but I HATE working out in the mornings, but I know that if I don't do it then, it won't get done (unless I have a ride scheduled with friends). I get up, whine and moan about how tired I am and how I wish I was one of those naturally thin beautiful people who didn't ever have to work out (do they really exist?), take our puppy outside to pee and poop, feed the dogs, change into workout clothes, sometimes feed the birds (sometimes DH does it) and then I'm as ready as I'll ever be. I'm famous for saying I'm gonna do an additional workout in the evening and 9 times out of 10 I don't. You'll start to notice I never talk about that evening one after it's supposedly over. :p

I think that tomorrow morning I will sleep late (well, until 6:30 at least) b/c tomorrow night I'm riding with a couple of girlfriends after work for a couple of hours. One of them is definitely the fastest one in our city and the other one is probably second. PRAY FOR ME!!! Hehehe. It should be an awesome workout.

Hi everyone,

Late check in for me...busy day, fussy baby, blah...blah

Today I did 450 walking lunges with 5# db, and then did L&G Step Mania premix and some hamstring curls on my weight bench. Later tonight I'll try the Lotte Burke dvd received from Netflix.

I skimmed the posts today. Hey! Once I'm back to "work" I can spend more time here. hahahaha I'll try to read them all tonight.

Lora, your boss is an ass!! I can’t stand her. She's a rotten miserable person. Just be glad you’re not like her. I think she gets some pleasure out of her constant nastiness. Try to stay positive while you're at work. It's awful you have to put up with her. When is her b/f coming back to town?

Susan - see, there is ONE good thing about going back to work!

Lora - I agree with Susan. Your boss is an @ss! I'm sure you don't look pregnant, but she knows how much you care about working out and what you eat and I think she likes to get you going. IGNORE THAT WITCH!!!

I hope my PY4H arrives today.

Lora,

I just think your boss is mean spirited anyways, in my opinion so she probably knows that your sensitive about certain things...ya know...picked up on your strength and weaknesses and just saying that to be mean. That lady is just being a beotch to say that anyways so forget it and forget her. Just keep focusing on your workouts...do you have your rotation yet?

Charlotte~~

Lora, that just makes me mad. What is wrong with that woman anyway. She is being malicious. She probably enjoys making others miserable. That is unexcusable. I would ignore the woman. I am sorry you have to put up with it. You are consistant and workout hard. Our bodies do fight against our goals at times. What we eat can make a short term difference, our body cycles as well. It will improve. That is life. I have eaten so much bread and cake lately that I felt puffy(today is better) I knew why and knew it would go away as soon as I was back on track, so did not let it bother me. Cheer up you have so much going for you. Don't let some mean spirited woman get to you.

No rotation yet! I came home and looked over the Butts & Gutts one but there's not enough upper body in it and I looked at a few others. I don't know what to do. I also don't know if I should take a rest day this weekend or not? I just had 5 rest days last month when we went to Vegas.

Lora - I agree with Suz. Also, I pm'd you.

This evening I did Amy Bento's ab workout #1. I like this workout but her counting drives me bonkers. I yelled out to her several times while doing this workout. I just want her to SHUT UP! Oy! I then did a mess of sit ups, oblique crunches and oblique twists on my decline bench and then I did a crap load of crunches on my stability ball. Felt great and I was sweating by the time I got done! Woo hoo!

Great evening to all!

Well we went to see RV. It was funny. I really enjoy humor. I have seen robin williams funnier though. When I go to movies I mainly like action adventure or comedy. Something to make me go home feeling good. Otherwise I am not that interested in watching them. We then went out and bought a new dresser. Tomorrow is the last day of school. So soon I will not be running to school midday. I am definitely looking forward to that.

I'm finally on here, I wonder if I'm checking in too late...

Debbie, I haven't done S&H in quite a while. I'll have to think about that one sometime.

Diane Sue, I looked up the shoulder exercises in the Bowflex book. I seem to have a hard time with the lateral moves for shoulders on there. Just feels awkward. That's when I do free weights, but maybe I need to give it a shot again. Glad the movie was okay. I do like Robin Williams. What is the dresser like?

Dallas, hope things get back to normal with the water. Bummer. Sewer water, huh? Nasty! Hope your squishy balls recover, or are they ruined?

Sandy, glad you are with us. Hope the neck gets better. I've had a sore/stiff neck upper back for the last couple months, but I think I've got it pretty well licked now. The pillow Lora ordered sounds interesting. Mostly I'm sore in the neck when I get out of bed so it's something about how I'm sleeping. I'm so used to working out in the morning. I get up at the ungodly hour of 2:30 and work out from 3:30 to 4:30, unless I go in 1/2 hour early due to a bike ride after work, then I work out from 3 to 4. Sick, huh? Love my coffee w/fat free vanilla creamer. I really have to watch the portion size of 1 Tbs. as they still pack calories. I'm talking 4-5 cups in the morning.

Sandy, I do like Rhythmic Step. I didn't find it hard to learn at all and I just started step last year, beginning with Cathe's easier workouts. I've gotten into mixing and matching so this is one I sub a lot. I've only used Imax but I remember it wasn't hard to do choreography wise. I also use Maximum Intensity Cardio, bits and pieces of that one too, especially the hi/lo. I think it was a good purchase for me and do recommend it.

Lora, I've been thinking about you and your rotation. Could you tell us what you've been eating? I think you do PLENTY of exercise, I really do. I don't think doing more is the answer at all. Please let us know so we can help. I too think your boss is a bi**h! What an uncalled for comment she gave you. You know, what goes around, comes around. I really believe that she'll get hers some day. And yes, another vote for you to get a rest day soon and then at least one a week on a regular basis. I think your body is crying out for one!

Charlotte, yes, you are a hot momma! Hope you enjoyed your workout today. I haven't done Coremax in ages. I dislike the twisting hip raises intensely.

Suz, good for you on your workout this morning. I like to do the Pyramid thing too. Yep, I am excited for Saturday's century. The temp should be in the high 60's-70's so perfect for climbing and riding. We usually start around 7:30 ish and will probably finish around 4:00 (including the lunch, rest stops, just going slow). The area is gorgeous. We ride alongside a beautiful meadow for a long time, rollers along the way, even a herd of buffalo. Then we climb, go around a lake and back down to the valley and around the meadow again. This will be my 4th time doing this particular century.

Susan CM, wow, those walking lunges again! Makes me tired just to think about them.

Got to go now, will check in in the morning!

Jeanette

Hi Jeanette, I do agree the lateral moves are different. I have to have my arms out straight to feel it without discomfort. I am getting used to it though. I think it is the grip that you have to have on the handles when pulling up on the cables. The dresser is huge. A mission style with a large mirror. We have built in chests in two of our closets and shelves built into the bath closet. We just needed more storage space:)
