Hardcore Fitness Maniacs Check In for Tues Jun 6

Cathlete
Morning Fit Ladies -

This morning I did Jillian Michaels Cardio Kickbox (25 min) followed by Turbo Jam Fat Blaster (30 min) with my 1 pound gloves on. This mental stuff is still really bothering me so I thought this would be a good workout and it did make for an excellent workout. I put my own music on for the Jillian workout though. I kept my heartrate between 80-90% of my max. I'm testing the theory of keeping your HR at different intensities for your workouts.

I wanted to do abs...but my DVD player button broke. I was freakin out...but the DH told me it has a button on the remote to open/close it.

Marietta - yes....that's sort of what I'm doing this week...following the Hardcore FL rotation with my own DVDs. In the future, I would still like an updated copy of that FL & Definition rotation though....so if you ever have time to play, I'd still appreciate it.

Netta - I'm really glad you decided to stay and check in. Talk about motivating and inspiring....that's what reading about your bike rides do for me. I can't even imagine going that far on a bike. You're awesome! I also like that we can talk about yoga together!

I rec'd my latest Push DVD and I previewed the cardio session and it looks really interesting. The trainer is Ary Nunez and she's in great shape. I like her personality also. The workout is different. It's called Gotham Forms and it's martial arts inspired with a bit of a pilates/dance spin on the stretches at the end, but yet keeping with the martial art/fight feel. Here's what it says on the website.

Ary Nunez
Cardio Trainer

"When East meets West, it's the best of both worlds for your body and mind. Who better to lead us on this path of enlightenment than three-style black belt martial artist Ary Nunez? The creator of Gotham Global Fitness Orchestra, Ary incorporates martial arts, boxing, dance and athletics into her instruction.

In Ary's routine, PUSHgotham body forms, you'll explore the benefits of martial arts, dance, yoga and Pilates in this invigorating slant on fitness and form. From cardio to core, your endurance and overall strength will profit under Ary's masterful direction. Overall fun and personal achievement guaranteed.

Any way....I may try this tomorrow for my cardio session....if I can tear myself away from my Seasun step DVD that I love so much. I haven't done it this week yet.

Have great workouts everyone. I'll try to check in from work.

Good morning Maniacs,
I reconsidered posting here and wrote about it on yesterday's thread (at the end). I'll just post what I can, may not be able to do personals very often.

Today's workout was CTX All Step and then tacked on 20 minutes of Karen Voight's Yoga Stretch. Felt good. I plan on doing an easy spin on my bike after work tonite. Will wear the HRM to make sure I don't push and just stay in my Zone 1. Smell the roses, hi to the cows, that kind of stuff! My legs are not so puffy and tight this morning, typical. By Wedn. or Thursday I stabilize. Just the way it is, I think.

I will focus on cleaner eating today and more water. Yesterday, homemade cookies were brought into the office and I had at least 5.

Lora, hope the mental stuff gets better for you. I've had a tough 3 years at work but it's getting better. I notice my real self coming out more and more, I'm laughing and not so concerned about what my boss thinks. It was a terrible, tense time, don't want to go back there again.

Lora, also, do you have any suggestions for real relaxing yoga? (as opposed to power yoga). Let me know.

Must go now, hi to all that follow and thanks for the encouragement to still post here. You guys are great AND HARDCORE!

Jeanette

Good morning, Maniacs!

My bi's are still killing me this morning so I couldn't work back again. I did Pyramid Shoulders and then tacked on some freestyle exercises. I did overhead dumbbell Arnold presses (3 sets/10 reps/15 lbs.), side lateral raises (3 sets/10 reps/10 lbs.), those lying rotator cuff raises (3 sets/10 reps/5 lbs.), and then I did shoulder shrugs (3 sets/24 reps/15 lbs.).

After this I did CTX Step & Intervals cardio. Love that workout, its so fun! This evening I'd like to do a stretch workout and then abs.

Netta - Glad you are staying! :)

Have great workouts!

Hi Ladies,

Today is the butt workout from cathes rotation and ctx upperbody. I also plan to run and do some core work.

YEah Lora-I will need all the TJ workouts for the rotation but someday soon I will get them.

Netta-Glad you stayed

Debbie-IS your weight back where you want it to be?

Have a nice day Ladies and hello to all that follow.

Terri

Netta- Pure Tranquility by Rainbeau Mars is the best relaxing yoga one. Available at Amazon or CD Universe. 30 min. long. Also, Yoga in the Garden of Serenity at Fitness Orgainica.....I think that's the name. Gotta go...I'm sneaking at work. Don't want to get caught. I'll post more later.

Hey Everyone,
Summer is such a busy time}( , but oh how I LOVE IT!!

Yesterday I did cardio party 3 and I pitched 300Plus baseballs to my DS's, and OHHHHHHHHH am I feeling it today:7

Today I pitched them 200 balls, and I think my rotation calls for booty sculpt, and I may tack on a Firm transfirmer workout??? What ever trips my trigger!!

Lora enjoyed your review!! I am really liking this advanced TJ rotation that I am doing!! Turbo jamming is alot of FUN!!

Terri so you just ordered the 4 max. results dvds??? I think you are going to really like them!!

Hello to everyone that follows!!

~Nicole

Hi Terri,
The butt workout looks interesting. I've got to get motivated and pick a rotation sometime. Just been freewheeling it lately, but think I'm getting lazier about cardio. My cardio workouts are getting shorter and shorter  .

Debbie, sore biceps still? You're right, CTX Intervals is good. Maybe I'll do that one soon. I love the shorter cardio. Works for me in the mornings so I can do some yoga. I do longer cardio on the bike in the evenings so am still getting it in. Your shoulder workout looks good. I like working my shoulders.

Lora, that Ary workout sounds intriguing. Bet you will find out about it!

I'm off to prison now...

Jeanette

Oh Lora I forgot to ask... How are you liking your gloves??? I am really happy I have mine for the TJ's!!

Morning Maniacs!!

I think I'm going to be sore later. LOL! I did day 2 of the June rotation which was CTX upper body split and BBW followed by PLB stability ball. I usually have no problem with the PLB part, but today I had to really push myself to finish. Ouchie in the glutes! Must have been all those walking lunges yesterday. }(

Anyone see Cathe on GMA? She looked beautiful and so fit!! If that's how it looks to be injured sign me up! LOL! :7 :+ I wish the segment was longer.

Netta ~ Glad you decided to stay! You, Suz and Christine have inspired me to dust off my bike. :) I love to hear about your long rides. Hey, where's Suz and Christine been?

Nicole/Lora ~ Could you tell me again where you got your gloves? Or what kind they are? I keep looking around at stores, but no luck so far. I did get a rebounder though. :)

Marietta ~ how are you feeling today? Getting back into the swing of things yet?

Susan ~ how are you feeling?

Debbie ~ I'm going to try you protein pancake recipe. Yum!:9

Terri ~ Got your e-mail. Sorry your under so much stress still. It's a good thing you workout!!

Hi to everyone else!! My kids are ready to roll. We're going to the library and then I don't know what else. Whee, play time!! ;-)

Hi everyone,

I have to make this real quick. I'm back at work. My office is nice. It's more private, but, I'm a lot closer to other people. I've been in a meeting all morning (with muffins).

I got up early and did GS C&T and then BBW.

Dallas, I'll get the results from my biopsy in three or four more days.

I saw Cathe on GMA. I was almost late since I HAD to see her! hahahaha. She looked great and did a wonderful job. I'm going to check out the book her dr. wrote.

Well, gotta run. LOTS to do!
My FIL is real sick. He flew up from FL and had a mild stroke shortly after landing. He has been in the hospital for a couple of days. My poor dh has so much going on with his job too. It's stressful.

Susan C.M.

Terri - no, my weight is still at 130. I'm eating more last week and this week and feel lighter. My jeans are looser too so I hope this will do the trick.

Nicole - 200 pitches? Good Lord! Your shoulder must be mush. I always wonder how a pitcher on any baseball team can get through the entire season without shoulder pain. Amazes me.

Dallas - Great workout! You'll love the protein pancakes, they are good.

I posted another rotation on the rotation forum if anyone cares. Just letting you all know.

Hi Maniacs!!

I've had a really busy morning and am just now getting a chance to check in.

Well...I think I'm back in the groove now. I did IMAX1 this morning...haven't done that one in a long time. I'll do a little leg work and some walking lunges at lunch.

Lora - I got my DVD already! I didn't even order it express either..It's the CIA Double Cardio. It looks really good. I'll try and preview it tomorrow. I cannot wait to get my BOSU out again! I'll work the update for the rotation...no problem.

Netta - Glad you are sticking around. Love reading about your bike rides...you are awesome!!

Debbie - You must of had a heck of a bicep workout!! I'm scared of you....

Terri - I'm a day behind on the rotation....just wasn't feeling ready to start yesterday. If I don't stray I'll be caught up by the end of the week.

Nicole - Your poor arm...I can totally imagine and relate to how sore you are. Aren't you glad to be a fit mom that can get out and throw balls around with your kids...there are lots that can't do that.

Dallas - I've never done CTX upper body, but I have it. I'm supposed to do it tomorrow...now I can't wait. I'll need a bunch to time won't I? How long was your workout? Feeling pretty good....ready to rock!!

Have a great day guys...I'll be back later.

Marietta - your little avatar at the bottom of your posts aren't showing up, at least on my computers they aren't. :(

My bi's haven't been this sore in ages. I did Pyramid bi's the other day and then followed that up with some freestyle bicep work. Holy cow! Yesterday I could hardly pick anything up. I guess I over did it! :)

Hey Debbie....I noticed the other day from home that it wasn't showing up...but when I'm at work it does...In fact I can see it now. Weird....

Just did my walking lunges and also worked my back. I really felt those lat pulldowns...I'll probably be a little sore tomorrow.

Hey Toasty...what's up??!!

Marietta -

They are good workouts...but of note is that Sharon's Full Body Cardio is a little heavy on the shoulder work and I think it's a bit light on lats and one other thing....can't remember now. So, it's not perfectly balanced, but it's fun and tough.....so I don't really care. I'm going to do that one on Sunday. I'm looking forward to that plus a tough Power Yoga workout on Sunday.

Good Afternoon.
It is a busy week for me. I did Turbo Jam Fat blaster, stopped at the cooldown and did Cardio Party 3 w/ no w/up or stretch, then the cardio segments of HSchallenge w/ abs and stretch. I took the grandchildren to VBS and then dil and I went shopping, I want to try and get in more abs and Yoga Shatki Lunar flow. That is the only one I haven't completed yet. It appears lighter to me from the portions I have done and viewed. I am looking at the June rotation. It does look good. Maybe I can do an altered version after I get through this busy week.

Netta, I am glad you decided to stick around. We all have those times where it is hard to post. Sometimes I feel like I barely have time to post my workout. I have thought I would save a lot of time if I stayed off of here, but I walk by the computer and I just have to look:). There is loads of motivation on here. I have enjoyed your posts.

Nicole, I really like using my weighted gloves with the Turbo Jams. If I have any soreness from other workouts though I cut back on using them. I like using them with the ab work as well.

Dallas, I got my weighted gloves at Target. Since then I have seen a Rodney Yee Yoga workout that comes with a pair of 1 pound ones that has removable 1/4 lb weight bars. I wish I had those now. It was 25.00.

Marietta, it sounds like you are getting rested up and back into your workouts. I can't see your avatar either.

Hi to everyone,

Hi Diane Sue...don't know if you saw or not, but there is a thread over in open discussion talking about wearing bikini's after turning 40....of course YOU came up...why? Because you are HOT!!!!! Moral of the thread being...you work hard, you look good and if you have the confidence then GO FOR IT!!!

You rock....just wanted to tell you that!!

Oh, I forgot. My gloves are Everlasts and I got them online at Amazon.com for $10. I think I did a search thru Bizrate.com for the best priced weighted gloves and found them that way. I really like them. The Beachbody ones I have are still a bit too heavy for me at 1.5 pounds. The 1 pounders are fine. I'm hoping they'll give my arms a bit more definition.

Hey Maniacs!

I've been really busy today, so thought I would check in while I can.
My w/o last night was BODYMAX! OMG! I didn't realize it was gonna be that tough. I got through it though. I pushed and pushed. I was sweating buckets, and love that feeling! Tonight I'm gonna do Step Blast again. I don't have Step Heat ( I think that's the one my rotation calls for) oh and I do have MIS, I forgot about Bodymax and MIS, I ordered those not long ago, I had Power Hour on VHS and wanted to get it on DVD and it was a good deal cuz it had the others on it too! All's good! Hope I'm making sense, I'm kind of in a hurry.

I've read all the posts and sounds like everyone is doing pretty good! Lora I hope you feel better. Can you tell me how you like Jillian Michaels? I would like to try her out, but I'm really wanting to get the Turbo Jams! They sound like a lot of fun!
Netta - Good to see you on the board. Maybe you can motivate me to buy a bike again, I've been thinking about it!

Debbie - Sounds like you got in a good w/o! My shoulders are my weakest body part I think!

Terri - I want to hear how sore you will be tomorrow from the butt work, the June rotation sounds really tough! I love CTX!

Nicole - I can't agree with you more about summer. I just love it!
Is your arm screaming at you still?

Dallas - Good for you for pushing through the w/o. I'm scared of it! :7

Susan C.M. - Great w/o, sounds like several of you are doing the June rotation! Sorry to hear about your FIL! I recorded GMA and will watch it when I get off work.

Marietta - OMG! I tried to do walking lunges last night as I've been reading posts about them, they are killer! Do you have a place at work to w/o??? Sounds like you had a great early morning w/o and afternoon w/o. :)

Diane Sue - Good w/o, I've got to get these Turbo Jams!!!

Hello to everyone else out there! I've gotta get to work!!!

Hi Sandy!! I'm such a loser today. I'm lurking...

Way to work through BodyMax...love that workout even though it's ancient!! I am fortunate to have a gym at my job...so I'm able to get in decent workouts here. The walking lunges are no joke...just did them at lunch today. I do them w/10 lbs in each hand, but I know Toasty uses some outrageous amount of weight...she's a maniac!!

Susan - How is work going today?? I too am sorry about your FIL and the difficulties your dh is having on the job. Sometimes when it rains...it pours. Hang in there...
