Morning Ladies -
This morning, I didn't hear my alarm going off and the DH didn't wake me up that early.....so I only had time for Amy Bento Step. I had difficulty following this again, but I always do (even did and still do with Cathe's). I usually don't do the turns right away and do most of it facing the TV until I learn it. Usually, I pick up a little more with each workout. I really kicked my HR up a notch (since I see my resting rate is lower) and I think I probably need to work up to this gradually, as it felt like I was overdoing it a bit and had to back off. My face was redder than beet red and took a long time to go away!!
Marietta - Usually, when I can't follow a step tape, I sort of do my own version until I get the steps. I have been doing the crazy taps (or whatever they're called) facing front. I'm not doing most of the turns yet. I need to keep my eyes on the screen. As far as which Power Yoga to do first, I believe they have broken in into 1 Energize (for beginners), 2 Tone for Intermediates and 3, Sweat for Advanced. I found them all to be very good and really not so much beginner. Have you ever done Power Yoga before? If not, don't just try it once and say "this isn't from me". I think (at least in my experience), you practice it a few times (falling over and such) and think "this is not for me" and then 1 day it just clicks and you start to get into the poses deeper and feel the goodness the poses create within your body and then you get that euphoric feeling which I call a "yoga buzz". All of the twists and openers they do in yoga are so good for your internal organs and for releasing toxins out of your body, as well as stretching you out from running, etc. I'm very anxious to hear what you think of these Power Yoga tapes.
Yes, I'm taking the Monday off after the concert and the following Tuesday also because it will still only count as one sick incident. I never do this sort of thing, and I was feeling a little guilty, but my boss has been so mean to me the last couple of days, I think I'm gonna be just fine doing it. (I would just take Personal Days, but the hospital took our Personal Days away from us this year - and there's major downsizing coming -- and you don't get paid for your sick time if you don't take it and I have about 200 hours or so of it). It's my present to myself. I've got 19 years clean today!! Nineteen years ago at this time, my life was TOTALLY different and about to take an even more dramatic turn. It seems like I've lived 2 lives.....the one now and the other one! LOL.
Terri - yes, I'm going to meet that crazy tatooed rocker dude that you liked when I posted his picture (LOL)!!!
Sabrina - did your Urban Rebounder stuff come yet? Have you heard anything on your yoga DVDs?
Have great workouts everyone. I'll try to check in later.
