Morning Ladies -
This morning my rotation called for Cardio Intervals (P90 Masters) but I did the entire Cardio Coach 5 for 70 mins. I knew I shouldn't have listened to Diana Sue and got Volumes 4&5. It really kicked my butt. I used the rebounder and my incline step. I then did Power Yoga for Happiness "Magically Hips" premix by Eoin Finn which is an hour practice. He's one of those instructors that kills you ever so gently and softly with that soft spoken demeanor! It was tough. I don't think I will be able to walk later. Why do I do this to myself?? (interesting side note - he says in this DVD that keeping your hips open like this actually slows down the physical aging process - no wonder I love hip openers so much).
If I ever had to recommend just 1 yoga DVD for anyone to try, it would be Eion Finn's Power Yoga for Happiness or Yoga Shakti by Shiva Rea. PY4H has about 6 premixes on it ...everything from a 30 minute quickie workout to a daily dose of bliss at 40 min and then the entire thing is 80 minutes. Eion is from Vancouver and has a way of getting you deeper in poses. Eion's is at Amazon for $19 and Yoga Shakti has a matrix grid with tons of stuff you can program into your own personal workout, or it has 4 preset practices that range from 30 minutes to 80 minutes. It's $24.99 at CDUniverse.com. Won't someone join me on my Yoga quest so you can see what it feels like to have a "yoga butt"?
This is funny - my DH has been using my rebounder (he's getting over some minor running injuries) and he came up to use it today and the incline step was there, so he was stepping on it. I moved him out of the way and showed him how to jump and run up it all the way on the front, high portion and put some impact into it.......he then tried that and he was huffin' and puffin' and said "that really gets you". I said "yeah....I know".. That high incline works the heck out of your legs.
Have great workouts everyone.....thanks for listening to my babbling....off to soak my sore yoga butt in the tub (again).
I'm gonna get a t-shirt made that says "Yes, I'm a hardcore fitness maniac (on the front) .....but Cardio Coach 5 Kicked my Butt (on the back). Now I know why Diana Sue loves Cardio Coach 4&5. I think the difference is that they keep you in your interval zones for 3 minutes of high intensity and shorter rest zones (harder than Cathe - IMO).
