Hardcore Fitness Maniacs Check In for Monday Feb 6

Morning Ladies -

This morning I started the TLT/Firm Rotation and did Endurance for Movement. This is about the third time I have done this one and I'm starting to like it a little better, as I'm finding modifcations for the things I can't do it in. I just hope my shoulders agree with me in the next few days. I was thinking of adding some cardio on the end of this workout, but ugh....it's Monday and I didn't feel like it. Where do the weekends go?

Morning Ladies!

Thought I would pop in and say "HI". I am keeping my middle son home from school again today. His cough sounds nasty. He was a little upset but I told him I wanted him well for his birthday on Thursday so he needed more rest. My youngest still has his cough and runny/stuff nose. I wonder if they will ever shake this.

I did manage to get in some squats yesterday (sorry no heels this time) and some crunches. I guess it is something.

How is everyone? What are you ladies up to?

Good Morning!!

Hope all is well with everyone...

This morning I did Hardcore Extreme #1...hadn't done that one in a while. The only thing I don't like about it is switching to the high step from the regular step, but it wasn't as bad as I thought would be. I'll most likely be going for a run or doing some other form of cardio and maybe shoulders at lunch.

Yesterday I kinda rested...I just "walked" for 2 miles on my treadmill and did some abs/core. Trust me....for me that's REST.

I picked up the Oxygen's Glute issue last week and it got me to thinking about how much I have neglected glute training...I mean I do plenty of leg work, but the glutes haven't been getting too much attention. I'm going to push myself to work them harder and more often from this point forward.

Lora - I don't know where the weekends go either!! When someone figures this out, maybe they will let us know...

Sabrina - Something is ALWAYS better than NOTHING!! Don't forget that...I was probably a good idea to keep you ds at home today...hope he gets well soon.

Marietta-Ah, yes, Hardcore Extreme--I love those workouts! I'll have to check out that issue of Oxygen. I could really use some extra focus on my glutes.

Today is Low Max plus the CTX Kickboxing/Abs.

Sabrina ~ I feel the same way...when will we shake this! My ds3 was up all night. He was just miserable. He still had a fever, but this AM seems a little better. He was upset about staying home from the b-day party yesterday. Glad you got a workout in yesterday. I agree with Marietta. I still have to check out your pictures.

Marietta ~ Was that issue on the newsstands? Or do you subscribe? I do, but didn't get that one. I'd be very interested in that one. Good for you for taking a semi-rest day yesterday. My problem when I do that - start walking I always want to run! :) Did you see my post yesterday asking about you making cards?

Terri ~ How are you feeling? You better rest!!!

Susan ~ How are you feeling? How's the baby?

Lisa ~ I saw you posted about WI weather? I bet is gets colder there than the Chicagoland area? It's been pretty darn cold! Love your picture. Is that in WI?

Hi Nicole, Lora and Diane Sue!!!

Today, since my son was in my arms the whole time I was home, I will do the workout I posted yesterday. I'd like to do some incline walking on the treadmill. My foot feels fine right now. :) I'll see how it feels when I finish.

ETA: Marietta, isn't it time consuming though? I love making them and people love getting them, but there's only so much time. You know? There is a workshop this Sunday and we make cards for 2 hours. I may sign up for that.
 
Sabrina - I saw the pics of you dress! I love the color and I LOVE the shoes...it looks perfect on you!

Lisa - Yeah, you have to get that mag. I had a hard time finding it, I ended up finding it at Target of all places. You just started the Jan 06 rotation...right? Terri and I are on week two of that rotation...fun stuff!!

Dallas - I was reading your post from yesterday...I do have a lot of Stampin Up! stuff, but I also have Close to My Heart lots of other stamps that I've picked up at conventions. I haven't spent as much time stampin/scrapbooking as I'd like, but I generally make all of my cards...just can't seem to buy them anymore. I've got everyone spoiled and now everyone expects for me to make them a card....when I don't, they get on my case pretty bad.

Dallas--

Yes, it's cold! This morning is 14 degrees, which is at least warmer than yesterday morning! The picture was taken a year ago in Mazatlan. I'm now about 5lbs heavier than I was in the picture x( --I'm leaving it up for my motivation!

Dallas-I hope your little guy gets to feeling better soon too. The coughing sounds so bad here. You can do nothing but hold them when they feel so bad. Poor little guy. Glad your foot is feeling better too. The Glute special is only on the news stands. I am looking for one too. The mag that I have that talks about it says they are not suppose to be out until the 7th though so they could still be hard to find.

Marietta-Thank you! I decided to go with something other than black, which is what I usually where. lol I love the shoes too, I am just not use to wearing heels that high. They are good for feeling those squats though. Might have to do that some more. LOL! How special that you make your own cards. That is great!

Lisa-Thank you! I hope my boys get to feeling better soon too. Where is your picture taken? It is a beautiful picture.

Lora-How is your sense of smell? Is it getting any better?

Today I rode 30min on airdyne, and then I did burn it up (minus the band work) I was suppose to do a firm dvd, but I felt Burn it up calling to me:7

Wow this place is busy already :) I always forget I am 2 hours behind most of you :)

Today I am going to attempt hcex #2 or 3 since I did 1 the other day. I still am not feeling well so maybe I will wait until this evening to do this and give my body a bit more rest.

Sabrina-I hope your kids feel better. Are you looking forward to the event that you are wearing the dress to?
Dallas-I hope your son is better soon as well. Seems like there is sickness everywhere this week. Becareful of your foot today.
Marietta-I actually had to take a rest day yesterday as I fely so weak. I am so hoping I can get todays workout in. I really wanted to run yesterday :(
Lisa-I will have to read your weather post. Here in Denver we have had such a mild winter. I would actually welcome some cold and snow :) In fact I keep wishing for a blizzard where everything gets shut down :)
Nicole-I got your e-mail and thanks for all the info. I will reply back today. Firm it Up is such a good workout IMO .
Lora-What movie did you see yesterday? I think I will skip the one you saw saturday based on your review. If you can fall asleep it must not be scary!

Nicole - where'd you go? You were in this thread and out really fast!!! what you got goin on?

Terri - Sorry you are feeling bad. You may need to take the day off or do something fairly easy. I wanted to run really badly yesterday too...at first I wasn't going to do anything...well, that what I kept telling myself, but I talked myself out of running and decided to just walk. I wish you much strength for the day!!

Dallas - I do subscribe to Oxygen, but of course subscribers don't get the Glute issue...you have to purchase it. It's good...If you subscribe, you've probably heard it all before, but having it all in one place really puts emphasis on it and brings the point home...know what I mean?

Hi Diane Sue - How may weeks/days/hours before you DH comes home? I'm sure you know...

Lisa - I'm sure that 5 lbs won't hurt ya...you look great!

Hi everyone,

Well it's about time I got back to the check-in ~ even though I'm not working out now. I'm still pretty sore and keeping up with the pain meds every four hours. I had my first sleepless night last night.

I'm sorry, I have not gone though all the check-in's from the last week yet. It's tough getting on and spending time on the computer with family coming over since I've been home from the hospital.

I'm happy to see everyone doing well. I'll be back more regularly soon.

You don't even need to be thinking of working out! Don't worry that you haven't been able to read the other posts. It is no big deal. We are just happy to hear from you! How are you? How is the sweet little man? He is sooo cute!!

Susan it is so nice that you even posted today:D Thanks for emailing the pictures of you and the boys. I really enjoyed them!! Don't worry about us!! We will always be here:) Come when you are able. We all know a new baby can be busy. I recommend taking as many naps as you can;-)

Terri sorry to hear you are not feeling well!! I'd say take the day off, and rest:D

Hey Dallas and Sabrina sorry to hear your kids are sick!! Hopefully they will get well quickly!! Dallas when do you go to the Dr. again??? Keep us posted!!

Susan ~ So good to hear from you! We understand! Don't worry about trying to read old threads. I agree with Sabrina, we're so glad to see you here. Yes, take your naps when you can! :)

Sabrina and Marietta ~ Thanks! I'll look for that magazine if I have time after my appt. I'm so nervous. I need to work these glutes too! Sabrina, how are the boys? My son has perked up. Yeah!

Diane Sue ~ You posted something that interested me. You said you go as heavy as you can and do lots of cardio to stay lean. Where me and Terri have been doing more of a freestyle approach to stay lean. I'm really so confused! Help! Anyone? ;-) So, you work legs once or twice a week and go really heavy?

Nicole ~ I'll try and get back on here later and let you know about the appt. My dh had an injury not long ago. Anyway, he had this liquid that was given to him by his karate instructor. I used it last night and woke up and no pain! "Ancient chinese secret, huh" Remember that commercial. lol! :7

Lisa ~ 5 pounds! I'm sure you still look great!:)

I do think housework is harmful to my health. I was making the beds this afternoon and I whacked my sore foot on the chair in my bedroom. OUCH!!!!x( I iced it and put more of the "secret formula" on my ankle. :eek: Oh brother!

Dallas - I'm like Diane Sue...I like to lift heavy, but I can get pretty muscular...I find that doing a lot of cardio keeps me more lean.

I only came to that conclusion by trial and error and found this is what worked for me.

If freestyle works to give you the look you are after then that's all good too. Freestyle would probably work for me, but since I like to lift heavy it's not something that I've looked into.

I don't know about Diane Sue, but I like to do a day of heavy legs and a day of moderate legs each week.

I'll be waiting to find our how your doctor appointment goes...

I am still not feeling terrific so I am playing it by ear. I may or may not get a workout in later.

Dallas-The thing you are asking about drives me insane as well! Heavy or light or freestyle or more cardio or more weights! It can be so frustrating. Isay do like Marietta says and do what works for you. For lower body freestyle works for me. I like heavier weight for upperbody. I feel your confusion and frustration!

Susan-So nice to see you!

Ok I will be back again to report wether or not I did a workout.

Terri - sorry you're still feeling badly...you should probably take the day off...don't you think?

I know...who am I to talk...but, remember when I was sick a couple of times a few months ago...I didn't workout. Being sick is about the only thing that will keep me down...
