Hardcore Fitness Maniacs Check In for Monday 5-8

Hello Everyone,

Wow we have more new people! Welcome to you newcomers! I am finally feeling better and will be working out today. Trying to decide on an easier cardio since I have had no solid food in a week. Thanks so much to everyone for their support and well wishes. Nicole nice to see you back as well:)

Well I just wanted to pop in and say hello. I will check back before I work out to see if any of you have an easy cardio suggestion for me :)

Terri

Hey Ya'll,

Work went very well today. The lady training me goes to my church and she is so super sweet! Telling me stuff over and over again so it sinks in and the atmosphere is so laid back. Not too many people either. I like the girls I work with so far. One is kind of loud and hyper/silly, but that wakes us up when it starts to get slow. The others seem nice too so early to tell. I brought in so much food though and the tiny frig was almost not big enough! LOL! You can snack there too where you work so I can deal with it pretty well. So I think I am gonna like working there. I got to go in at 8am and get off at 3pm. I am gonna do my workouts when I get home. Sorry, Lora, I am not getting up at 2:30am in the morning with you to workout!!! Heck no!!!!!

Well today is my rest day so tomorrow will be PUB and cardio.

Charlotte~~

Hey Terri...glad you feel better. An easy workout? How about a nice walk...it that's too easy use the treadmill and hike up the incline. At least it wouldn't be any jumping around...bet your mouth might like that. It all goes well with that, then you could do something a little more challenging tomorrow.

Toasty - Glad you like you job and have nice people to work with...that always helps. And they will let you eat??!! It doesn't get any better than that!!! (ha!ha!) Will 8:00 to 3:00 be your hours always?

Can you guys tell I don't feel like working today...I worked way to hard last week...I deserve a break!!

Charlotte - glad you like your job! Thats good, it sucks to go to work when you hate it.

Marietta - I'm thinking its the fruit too. I didn't realize I was eating THAT much of it. Yes, I usually eat it with protein and carbs but still. I'll have to adjust a bit and see how it goes.
Thanks!

Wow, I'm posting a lot today. Kind of chatty I guess.

This evening I decided to try my new Mark Blanchard Power Yoga workout. I got "Foundation". Ok, here I'm thinking "foundation" means basic - i.e. BEGINNER. Ummm, NO!

Holy cow was this hard. I actually stopped about 45 minutes into it. My low back was really feeling stressed and I just couldn't do it anymore. He does a lot of unique poses that I've never seen before. Lots of balancing stuff.

I really liked it, but like I said, I just had to stop. Very powerful workout. I like Mark and he has a great personality. He jokes and is just nice. I'll be doing it again, but will need to work my way back to this. I haven't done a serious yoga workout in a while, I can feel that I'm way out of practice.

I'm back! These days are never-ending.....

OK, Debbie you got my attention. I've been meaning to order these DVDs. It sounds like I only need to order one. ha ha Is Foundation the first in the series? I can't remember. I hate to keep asking for comparisons, but here it goes, how does he compare to Bryan Kest. I remember saying you are a Bryan fan too. I feel his practice is still very challenging.

Terri ~ Glad you're feeling better.

Susan ~ I think Marilu would say that food combining was a no-no. lol Here's a link that's more detailed then the chart in her book. I haven't actually started it because I'm still taking it all in right now.

Marietta ~ Yep, running was good!! I'll keep adding on intervals and see how it goes. Sounds like you had a low-key weekend?

Diane Sue ~ Holy smokes! That sounds like one heck of a leg workout you did today!

I better get to straightening the house, since not much of that got done today. :-(

You're right about my food combining! Hmmm, I swear I'll never, ever get my food intake right. I read SO much about nutrition and exercise too. I think Marilu is more for health benefits than, say, fat loss or muscle gain.
I saw that bananas and strawberries together is another no-no. Oy-Vay! hahaha
Susan C.M.

Me too Susan. I swear it's so confusing.

What are you doing up still? I should be sleeping or really cleaning, but this is more fun. lol

Wow, lots of posts while I was gone today! My massage lady misread my appointment time so it didn't happen. I wasn't happy, but after talking to her later tonite, I'm rescheduling for next Monday. I was soooo ready for one tonite.

How do you guys all keep track of the posts? I just got done writing down all the names and came up with 12! I'll give a shot at it.

Lora, the injections do not sound like fun at all. How did you get the bulging disks in your neck? My neck is certainly my weakest point and I have to really watch that I don't strain it when lifting weights.

Charlotte, glad your first day went well. Sounds like you are going to enjoy it and glad you can get your meals in. Usually offices end up having too much food around.

Debbie, just off hand, all the fruit sounds like a lot to me, but boy, I sure struggle also with getting it. And then when I do, it changes.

Susan CM, hope your run was good today. Food combining, I need to listen up on that. I'm so used to not combining my food. In a real rut I am.

Dallas, I really enjoy PUB a lot and when I first started using it, I got a lot of definition.

Marietta, enjoy your rest time. We all sure deserve it. Your workouts sound like a lot of fun.

Nicole, so you are a kickbox fan. I like some of it, but not that hot on it as others are. I do find the Turbo Jams a lot of fun though, it is more like a party than a workout and the time really flies. I just have the original one and I'd say it's not as intense as KPC, but then, I like variety and different intensities.

Christine, sometimes exhaustion just really feels good too as you know you tested your body. So fun to meet someone and finally get to hear their voice, color of their eyes, etc. I'm almost always wrong when I imagine what they look like or sound like (unless, of course, I've seen their picture or talked on the phone to them previously). A northern Calif. get together someday would be nice. Carol McMain lives near Redding, CA and I'm a couple of hours east of her. Hmmm. Someday.

Susan (Dogs2birds), you are a much more dedicated cyclist than I am and I think/may already have passed me in ability. Keep working at it girl, you will be fast, fast! We all have different strengths, one may be fast on the flats but crawl in the hills and vice versa. The main thing is to enjoy it whether we are first, last, or inbetween. The feeling of freedom and adventure on a bike is awesome! I'll have to take my own advice tomorrow as I'm participating in the time trial after work (if I still feel as good as I do now). The others that ride are racers and fast recreational cyclists. I'm the first one to leave and the last one to come in, but hey, I'm riding agains myself. Keep us posted on poor Gizmo. I feel so sad about his jaw.

Diane Sue, sorry you got locked out. It's happened to everyone at some point or other. S&H on the Bowflex, I'll have to try that some time. However, my TV is about 20' and around a corner from my Bowflex. I'd have to turn it up pretty loud. Good idea, though. I'm so happy your DH will be home soon.

Terri, sorry you have been ill. Was it a flu bug? Please take it easy coming back. I'm the world's worst re: pushing when I shouldn't.

Must get off to bed now.
