HARDCORE FITNESS MANIAC HOTTIES THURS

GM MANIACS-
Yesterday was a run on the treadmill. 23 min steady run, 10 min hill sprints, 5 min incline walk, and a cool down. Total workout was 45 min and I burned 780 calories. The hill sprints are evil :D but good. I "sprinted" (I use the term loosely as my sprint is not a true Olympic event) for 20 sec and recovered for 40 sec. I tried 30 and 30 but I need to work up to that; I used a 8.0 incline.

Linda-is the Turbulence Training an ebook? And you are very clever to use the plyo legs as HIIT. Is it safe to assume you just do the plyo moves and not the weight work portion? If you don't mind, I may copy your workouts and try them myself, with a few questions to you of course. Did you have fat loss when you did the workouts last year? And don't worry about the weight difference, you'll be back to it in no time.

Hermia-nice job. Amy's ASC is crazy. I have ASC3 and got one combo down, but the rest I just feel lost. Sorry the paper grading is so mindnumbing :) Is the better buns video a circuit style workout?

Good morning to everyone else.

Today was cardio and I'm still trying to get over the migraine I had yesterday. Woke up feeling like I had a hangover. I really wanted to just stay in bed but I got up and decided to do Amy's Kickbox Surge. Ended up having a pretty good workout, I like this one, it's fun and it has excellent music in it. I did the first 3 kb & surge combos and then the kb section from the 4th combo. Then I did her Ab Refining section. I like that, but wish it was a bit longer. I almost did it over again but ran out of time.

HR STATS for Entire workout:
61 minutes total
7 minutes below zone
20 minutes in zone
36 minutes above zone
(which surprises me)
479 calories burned (which also suprised me)

I didn't really feel like I gave it my all, I'm trying to be really careful with my left hip tightness, but the stats show that I did very well. Happy with this!

Theresa - Holy crap! Nice workout. I might copy that. Isn't hard doing a 10 minute hill sprint? What is the hill % you are doing with your treadmill for that? Nice calorie burn!

Be back later, I am crazy busy today.

Debbie-
Nice work on KB Surge, that is one of my favorites too. Hope you feel better soon.
On the hill sprints, I did the following:

20sec sprint @ 8.0%incline and 6.5 mph
40 sec recovery (I just stood on the sides of the TM so I wasn't starting and stopping the TM)

I repeated 10 times. My heart rate was soaring around 180-185. It was brutal but good...and to think I was going to start with 30 min worth of sprints-they would have had to peel me off the floor :D

This morning's workout went much better. Adjusting the VO2 made a huge difference. I guess it had me at the near 60 year old VO2. I had a the doctor that did my colonoscopy make comment about my fitness level. He said he could tell I worked out when they had me under anesthesia by my hr etc.. Anyway this morning I did BodyMax2 Premix Bootcamp. This was the power circuit segments and the bonus cardio segment with the weights and abs done in between. Workout was 83 minutes and I burned 447 calories. (didn't keep my hr up as much with the weight segments in between) Then I did Kelly Coffey's 30 minutes to Fitness Muscle definition workout#2. I followed with The Kettlebell Goddess Legs and Butt segment 28 min includes joint mobility and 7 min stretch
Pistols 3 sets of 4 reps 15# kettlebell (this is like Cathe's 1 leg sit and stand move she does with the weight and the chair)
Front squats 3 sets 6 reps(they go really low into the squats but moves are slow and controled) I used two 15# kettlebells
1 legged deadlift 3 sets 4 reps two 20# kettlebells
step back lunges(these are where you step back and pass the kettlebell through your bent leg) 12 reps x 2 sets two 20# kettlebells
good mornings 6reps x 3 sets two 20# dumbbells (they had one woman stand on a bench and she went really low with one kettlebell)
1 swing,1clean,1snatch- 5 sets then switch and do 5 sets on the other side

Debbie, nice workout. Your calorie burn is more like it should be. Mine the other day was 345 doing the abs and everything and adding more impact and stuff. It was sure frustrating.

Theresa, great workout. Those hill sprints really burn some calories and work the legs well.

Morning Maniacs -

This morning I got to sleep in cuz I don't work until 3 pm....so I had a good workout. I did Tony Horton's One on One Cardio 5-6 Plus and Med Ball Ab cardio (part of). Workout was 67" and I burned 670 calories. Max HR was
164.

I also did a 15" stretch off of Michelle Dozois' Ult Body Workout.

Good workout considering I did not feel like working out at all.

Great workouts everyone.

ETA: I was thinking about you ladies talking about seeing flashing prior to migraines and I started to think about something. Periodically, I see what I call "shooting stars" for no reason at all other than moving abruptly. But, when I've asked others if they ever see these, they look at me like I'm crazy.....so I stopped sharing!! LOL. I bet that's the aura prior to my migraines, but since I get them SO Often - I see lights alot!

Diane Sue - Glad your HRM worked good for you today. And funny on the doctor noticing you're so fit from your HR. I would think he knew you were so fit by how you LOOK!! LOL!! Is he blind? Nice job on the workout. Do you work your abs every day?

Lora - Nice workout! Glad you got to sleep in. And do you know I still can't download Hollywood Whore? I think it has something to do with the name "whore". When I tried to download Justin Timberlakes "Sexy Back" I had to type out "Sxy" for it to work. How stupid is that?

Debbie, the doctor did make comment on how I looked too. Him and the nurses were all talking about my working out LOL

Lora, prior to migraines I see spots (at least that is how I would describe it) sometimes too I see little black dots that remind me of gnats but there are no nats.

Lora - you can see those and not get the headache. Migraine without aura - Acephalgic form of migraine is also known by other names such as amigranious migraine or optical migraine, or silent migraine.

My daughter will see all sorts of odd things and they think that is what she has too.

Nice workout - I don't have any of the one-on-ones but I do like Tony :)

Debbie - I hate that hungover feeling, but nice workout anyway! Sometimes, when I am on that edge, the workout will help push me over to feeling better.

Theresa - nice workout :) I'd say those are some rather quick sprints on that incline!

Diane Sue - my cookbook came the other day and then yesterday, I got the new Ellie Krieger cookbook.

Fun workout too - I miss the kettlebells but want to finish STS and am really loving Meso 2.

Yesterday, I did chest, shoulders and tris, ab work, and then 15 min HIIT on the TM (last 3 was cool down.) It wasn't much but I needed something extra last night. Monday was legs, Tuesday was clean house all day. Sunday was a CC mix that was great. I am really loving the Candace workout. Today, I am doing a Spinervals and something else if time allows. Need to get back to swimming.

Shana, I just took the New Eat Clean Cookbook Banana Date Breakfast loaf out of the oven. I have two of my grandchildren staying the night and two more I will be bringing back here from school. Thought it would be a good snack. I need to get the roast in the slow cooker and get busy around here. Glad you got your cookbooks. I like making new things to try.

RE: Migraines -- all I know is that I get plenty of them and I often see shooting stars (and I'm not viewing the Meteor shower that is taking place outside in the Southeast currently)....LOL! I never knew what they were....but I wonder if they are related?

I don't feel like going to work............it has been DEAD there lately and I'm off this weekend, so I can't redeem myself from being in the hole with my numbers since I won't be there to get the sales this weekend. oh well...such is the life of retail.

I can't decide if I should do AHB tomorrow or try one of the Rev Abs Strength workouts.......decisions ...decisions.

Lora - Are you near sited?? I am so near sited and my contacts are so strong that I do see what you describe as "shooting stars". My eye doctor told me its because my retina's are so weak and that if I see them alot I need to get into the doctors office ASAP because that means the retina is tearing and I'd have to have eye surgery. That scares the crap out of me because I also see shooting stars periodically. The stars I see before a migraine is different because it's always there until it clears up. Thats how I know the migraine will start.

Shana - CC #6 with Candace is fun but I've done it so much that her talking drives me nuts. "It's gonna a burn a little, but it's all good..." Oy!!!!

Theresa - WOW! &80 calories in 45 minutes! Niiiccceee! Turbulance training is an ebook, well actually several as he has alot of different programs. I also have his TT for Abs programs. And Yes I am using Plyo Legs minus the weight exercises for HIIT. Feel free to copy and ask away, I don't mind at all. No, I did not see weight loss last year with TT, but that was my fault because my eating was terrible. I did get some god upper body definition despite the layer of fat.:p

Debbie
- Nice workout! Especially for feeling hungover!

DianeSue - Glad to hear you have found a setting on your HRM that just may work for you. I saw a woman at the drugstore yesterday that was older than me and super lean and my first thought was "I bet that's what DianeSue looks like":D

Lora - Nice calorie burn! And sorry no shooting stars except when I get a head rush from standing to quickly or whatever causes it.

Shana - Nice job adding HIIT to the end of a Meso 2 workout!

This morning I did Amy's ITR Great NRG Mix. It included combos & intervals 1,3 & 4. Workout was 52 minutes and I burned 408 calories. My legs are really tired, must be those Plyo workouts.

My stupid HRM is still losing all the it's data since I changed the battery. Only difference now is it is happening more often.

Shana-good to see you :) what type of HIT did you do on the TM? Sprint/jog?

Linda-is the TT ebook worth it? It seemed pretty interesting and I am always looking for things to spend money on :D I tried ITR on Tuesday but I was not into it AT ALL. Good work. My eats have declined a bit this week, but they usually do when I am stressed. Fries...that is all I want, that and Diet Dr. Pepper; I have had one every day this week. Odd thing, the diet soda actually makes me feel full.

Diane Sue-your workouts are always so interesting. Do you mix and match to keep from getting bored?

Lora-nice work.

Random question: Does anyone use almond milk instead of dairy or soy? I had an epiphany this a.m. that maybe I needed to give it a try in lieu of cow's milk in my a.m. smoothie.

Hope I didn't miss anyone. Thank the good Lord tomorrow is Friday, I am sick of this week...

Theresa

Theresa - I use to drink almond milk all the time love the stuff. But alas it finally just got to expensive for me. Also I pm'd you!

Linda, I was looking over the TT Kettlebell s unleashed workout that I had printed. I am really interested in it except it has pull ups with the double kettlebell step ups. I am not a fan of pull ups. Also I am not sure about the dragon flag. I did that move before and hurt my neck. I still may give it a try. My dd said she had a patient that was my age that she told reminded her of me because she was really lean and had muscle. She was really into fitness:)

Theresa, I mix up the workouts to get in just the parts I want to get in. Today I was trying not to do as much cardio and jumping because all of that work I did the last 3 days trying to get my HR and calories up left my knee aching and my feet & ankles hurting. So, I opted for more light weights and kettlebells to get me where I wanted to be:) Yes, I guess you would say sometimes it is out of boredom. There are different reasons I do it. Sometimes I just want to put together some of the different heavy bag workout segments as my focus, or I will mix up different instructors med ball segments. Keeps it interesting. I use those premixes and options a lot;)

Theresa...good job on the hill sprints. I know Suz chimed in for me but I do mine outside on an overpass near my house. They are great! I sprint up and walk down...10x. Takes me about 25 minutes.

Debbie...sorry about the migraines...they suck!

Today is a high carb day. My eats are:
M1: eggwhites/oatmeal/raisins (normally it is blueberries but didn't make it to the store yesterday!)
M2: protein shake/apple w/p-nut butter
M3: hamburger patty/brown rice
M4: grapefruit (pre-workout)/vasocor
M5: post-workout drink
M6: halibut/grapefruit/strawberries
M7: eggwhites/almonds

Today I will be doing the new bulking leg workout Olesya designed for me. Will let ya know how it goes! Zercher squats do not look like fun!

Hello to all you maniacs! :)

Diane Sue-you really are the master of mixing. I love it

Linda-I pm;'d you back :)

Sonya-thanks. You weren't kidding about those hill sprints...they are brutal, but I love them. Also, thanks for posting your eats, I always like to see what others are doing. I would post my eats today, but I would have to include small fries and I don't want to do that :D

- Did you buy the TT Kettlebell Workouts or is just something that he gave away for free? I hate pullups too!

Sonya - Zercher Squats sure look interesting. You'll have to let us know how the went.

My meals today were not real great:
Post workout: After Shock Recovery drink
Breakfast: grapefruit
snack: plain yogurt with blueberries and flax seed
lunch: light clam chowder(it was late and I had to hurry to leave so I opened a can of soup
snack: 2 slices breakfast banana date loaf from clean eating cookbook(for part of the power flour I used a cup of low carb bake mix
dinner: salad with lean eye of round roast beef

Linda, here is a link to that workout. You have to purchase it. http://www.kettlebellfatlosstraining.com/

Sonya, I will have to go check out those zercher squats. Thanks for sharing your meals.
