Debbie-I hope your Mom' pre-admit stuff went well.

Lori-I don't think it matters how good or bad someone does on house work w/ golf ball size hail  That is some nasty stuff. did the other storms do any more damamge?

Took the day off yesterday from work and workouts because I had to take my mom in for her pre-admissions test for her next hip surgery. Appointment was at 9 and we were there until about 11:30. Then we went to Perkins and had lunch. Had a great time with her, even though we were at the doctors most of the time.

Anyways, yesterday was beautiful and I had a great weekend. Love this warm weather and it's about time. Rode my motorcycle alot this weekend.

I did total body today and on tap was Muscle Max. Had an excellent workout. I had to skip abs, though. I really need to start my workouts a bit earlier to get it all in. I'm neglecting my abs big time again.

Gotta get my ass to work. Can't wait to get on my bike!

Good Morning -

Sunny and windy here so far. Maybe the other storms missed us? That would be nice. This particular kind seems to just ... appear. It's nice, you turn your back then look back out the window and it's a PGA free for all. That's what happened yesterday. Had to remind myself that it's just weather being weather. I think I was kind of in shock when I posted last night - and tired. Apologize for the vent - it's ok, I know - nothing tragic at all. Just a bit tired of seeing large pieces of debris fly by the window and realizing - "Hey - that (was) my house  ??!!!"

Back and cardio today. It's DS's last day of school and he gets out early. May have to work around him a little bit.

Debbie - Your knee is feeling better? Glad you had a great workout and time with your mom. That pre-admissions stuff always seems to take sooooo long.

Theresa - You still get really great burns even with your HR monitor "fixed :D !" I'm not sure exactly what I'm doing today yet either. I'll probably end up breaking my workout up into two parts. Have fun with whatever you choose. Oh. Also, about hack squats: Amy Bento has a version in All Pump Extreme where she holds a barbell behind her legs, elevates her heels and drops down so the weight is hanging under her bum and back. Hard to explain. I'll see if I can find a clip on Youtube. Once I got a sense of how to keep my shoulders up and back - and balanced so I felt comfortable going deep enough, I really came to like this version. I like to throw it into other workouts once in awhile. They feel really different/unique. Have fun with whatever you choose.

I posted other personal's last night.

Have a good morning -

Lori

Theresa - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vQ7fqP7meQ Here you go. Not the best clip, but in the other's I checked out they had so much of a forward lean it almost looked like they were doing a Good Morning with the squat. I don't typically put the bar down between reps and elevated heels seems to make it a bit easier (for me), plus hits the quads better.

Debbie-glad your Mom's tests went well. Did they schedule her for surgery yet? Good work today. How's the knee?

Lori-thanks for that link. After I watched it, I remembered I had seen it awhile ago and forgot. I'm glad the rest of the bad weather missed you :D How's your slo mo rotation going so far?

I started with Amy's Step Challenge 3 and did the w/u and combo 1 and stopped at 20 minutes. I was jsut not getting my HR up

I kept checking my monitor. Then I stopped and let my HR go down and did the Ownzone on my HR monitor. I did Cathe's Athletic Step 48 minutes and burned 327 calories with a max HR of 155 (this was way lower than usual) Next I did Bosu Xplode Burn circuits 4&5 no time for stretch 20 minutes and 127 calories. I took the girls to school and came back and did Kettlebell Dynamics abs 8 minutes 40 calories and Jillian's Yoga Meltdown Level 1 35 minutes 138 calories max HR was 119(they say you elevate HR and burn fat so I thought I would post that. Total calories today was 740 and time was 2 hr 11 minutes..
It rained here last night and the covering me put on the trailer came off so I have to go out and clean up water. The insurance company said they were going to send someone out to cover it but they never came:(
I have to pick up my granddaughters from school in awhile so need to get busy. I will check back for personals later.

Hey :) I just popped in to say hello to everyone :) I having been doing much, mainly house stuff that's about it. I miss you guys:rolleyes:

I'm really crushed for time today but wanted to answer a couple questions. Knee is just ok. The top of it still hurts. I felt it alot when I did squats this morning. Other then that, there is no pain. When I walk up the stairs I don't the creeks anymore.

My mom's next hip surgery is scheduled for June 10th and I cannot wait for it to get here. She is in so much pain right now. It will be such a relief when she gets it done.

Hi Teddygirl! Miss you! :)

ETA: Theresa - You asked me about the difference between SZ and CKBC. I think CKBC has more intensity then SZ. I can at least get my HR up into the 150's with CKBC. I love both workouts, though.

Hi Maniacs - This morning I did IWMBB 3.0 workout 1B. I liked it. I upped the weights a bit. I finished off with 10 Minutes of Dance Mix with Jen Galardi (fun...fun). Max HR was 156 and I burned 694 calories. I also did So Long Sciatica off of Quick Fix yoga and Rodney Yee's Yoga for the Week - Twists. My back is ...seriously jacked up. Need to try to fit a back yoga dvd in later today......but we shall see. I'm off today thank God!

For anyone that is curious - here's the break down of the workout I did this AM:
Warm-up - Val's Movement Prep series
Sweat Circuit - repeated 3 times (about 15-20 reps)
Side to Side Jumps
Step Ups... See More
Valslide Lunge with lateral raise (used lt weights)
Valslide Reverse Lunge with Arms Up (used lt weights)
Plyo jumps...step back
Bruce Lee Kicks
Rear Leg lifts
Valslide Windshield wipers (for abs)
Valslide Knee tucks (for abs)

Here's the 2nd Circuit - Sculpt - Rpeated 3 times (12-15 reps)
Sumo Squat - 20 lbs (she suggests lighter)
Bent over row - 20 lbs (she suggests lighter)
Shoulder Press - 10 lbs
Chest Press - 20 lbs (she suggest lighter)... See More
Ultimate Crunch - for abs

3rd Circuit - Polish Set (repeated 3 times)
Standing L's - a shoulder posture move ( i used light weights)
Standing T's - ditto
Bent Over W's - ditto
Serve the Dumbbells - biceps - used 7's (she suggested lighter)... See More
Kickbacks
Bicycle - used hand weights

My legs and back are seriously toast. No amount of stretching seems to help.....some day soon, I should try an hour long stretch or yoga and see if it helps.

Oh...I'm writing a book. I like this rotation (except for my back and legs). I think I'm seeing some extra definition in my upper arms and abs...hopefully the lower half (problem half) will show next! But I seriously need to watch my diet.

Deb - they really are trying to appeal to the younger crowd on GH with all of the new Younger characters. This should get interesting with Dante, huh?

Hi to everyone else.

Hey everyone,
I haven't checked in for a while; I've been working out, just not quite as much as I'd like and usually not with as much energy as I'd like. Today, though, I went to yoga class, and yesterday I did the cardio from LIS through the third combo, which I tried to learn, and then I did my own little timesaver from Gym Style chest and triceps.

Lora, sorry to hear your back is hurting so much. My mom has problems with her upper body and the yoga does seem to help her, but it needs to be a longer yoga and she has to be regular with it. Massages help, too.

Lots of good workouts, you guys. ttyl
