Hard Core Rotation Checkin for Friday Jan 6

Morning Ladies -

This morning I did TLT Better Burn, Better Buns. I used my 5 # mini xerball and it was fine. Actually it felt a little too easy at first and then felt heavier towards the end of the workout. I used my 4# ball for part of the abs at the end. I stopped and grabbed my 6# ball in the beginning, but the larger med balls just don't feel as heavy as the smaller ones (must be cuz the weight is more concentrated in one area since it's smaller). I think I'm going to order the 6 pounder today though.

I'm really not going to give too much of my opinion today, as earlier in the week, I either pulled my piriformis muscle or my hip is acting up from my car accident injury. My right side of my neck and shoulder are also severely flared up with my disc pain. This also was the side that was injured in the car accident....so I'm not sure if it's the wet, cold weather or I did something to it.

Right now, I'm a little disgusted with myself that I have this injury to workout around and that I can't do planks or pushups, or lift my arms above my head to get a good decent functional fitness workout. (also disgusted since I've gained a few pounds from the holidays)

I will just say that I felt worked out from this workout, but not beat. I actually had every intention of adding a short cardio workout to the end, but with my hip acting up and all of the plyo I did yesterday, I opted against it. I'm also taking a rest day tomorrow to try to help it.

Another reason I wanted to finish up early today.....I'm going to look into to a trial subscription from that PushTV website that does the personalized fitness routines. It's $25 per month and the minimum to sign up for is 3 months. I think I'm going to use my E-bay $ and try it. It didn't get such hot reviews at VF when it first came out, but supposedly they are now improved.

I forgot to mention that I think Tracie looks amazing. She looks more lean and mean than in her "Firm" days and even better than she did for the last TLP's. I wonder if all she does is this sort of training. I would be interested to hear about that.

Also, I definitely think the Kelly Coffey DVD (CardioSculpt) is functional fitness, as I am really sore in areas I felt being worked in today's workout.
Terri - Did you sustain any injuries in the car accident you were in? If so, do they still bother you?
 
Lora I agree Tracie does look GREAT!! I was going to do BBBB, but decided I wanted to preview them first since I heard they are so different. I only got to preview one last night, and it was the Endurance one with Tracie, and all I can say is WOW......I ain't going to be muting Tracie}( I think this is going to take me 3 times or more to really get these moves down right with lots of concentration and FOCUS. These definitely are going to be a challenge!! Today I am going preview BBBB and then do it;-) Wish me luck!!

Lora, Susan and Dallas I found a rotation that Stephanie devised for someone on the TLT forum . It goes like this

Thurs BBBB
Fri FYC plus cardio
Sat SIM
Sun EFM
Mon SIM
Tues 45 min run
Wed EFM
Thurs FYC and cardio segments of BBBB

Then she states she would work BBBB into the rotation 2 times weekly.

One thing I will mention about the BBBB workout this morning .....the paperplate moves have your legs and buns a burning! Very appropriate title. I also thought the workout was "fun" and parts of it felt more like kids play than working out....which is a plus for me.

Nicole - thanks for the rotation. I should go post over at TLT cuz I want to know what Tracie did to look so amazing. I wonder if she diets and trains with a personal trainer prior to filming like Cathe.

Oh, and my bad! I signed up for 3 months of PushTV.net this morning. I chose Bob Harper as my trainer and Jon Giswold for cardio. I really liked Bob in the Biggest Loser DVD (love all of his tattoos ....always have liked the wild ones! *wink*). I checked the box for "Workout Warrior" so hopefully I'll get hard workouts. I'll let everyone know what I think when I get them. I also checked emphasis on legs (but it's a total body workout). They will send me 2 personal trainer DVDs and 1 cardio DVD each month.
 
Good morning!!

This morning I did IMAX3 and some bicep work. Will do more cardio later and hit triceps. I think I mentioned that I am going back to old fashioned weight workouts for a bit. I felt that I needed to do this to change things up a bit.

Lora - PushTV huh?? I've never heard of it...I learn so much from you!! Can't wait to hear what you think of it...keep us posted. Sorry about the pain you are having...a rest day is definitely in order for you.

Nicole - How's it goin? You guys and this TLT stuff are killin me...I'm so confused!!

Good Morning All!

Yesterday was a long one, BUT I got all the returns done and I managed to find some jeans I actually like! :7 I finally found those Lucky jeans. They were on sale! Then I checked out Express. Love them and they were on sale too!

Today I did LL thru abs, then CTX kbx abs, S&H biceps and stretch. I had to cut it short because I have a lot to do today. We have to be at a b-day party at noon. I got the gift, but I forgot to get the new baby a gift. :-( So, I have to run with all the kids to the mall before the party. After the party more errands. I'd like to think I'll get some cardio in when I get back. I'll have to see about that. DH and I **may** get to go on a date night tonight.

You all have me excited about the TLTs. Thanks for posting that rotation Nicole. Mine should be here today!

Diane Sue ~ Do you like the music in all the CC workouts? I remember reading on here that some volumes were better than others. I'd like to get another volume, so I don't have to rewind to get the mileage in. That's what I do download, then burn it to a CD.

Marietta ~ How's the gym weight workouts going? Do you have your workouts in a Word file? If so, could you send it to me in an e-mail? I have that gym membership that I feel I should be using somewhat. I have an Imax planned for tomorrow. I can't wait!

Hi Marietta - Yes, PushTV was the brainchild of Bobbie Strom and Nancy Kennedy (Personal Trainers). When it first came out a couple years ago, the ladies on VF tried it and said it was too easy and they all complained......then Push shut down and regrouped and now they're back and supposed to be improved.

It looks like a lot of you ladies bought the TLT's workouts. I don't like to be left out so I might have to buy them too. lol! I just found out that DH and I get to go to a fancy party for my work in February. It is on the riverboat and we get do dress up!! It sounds like a lot of fun!! Now I need to go shopping for a dress!! LOL! ;-)

Marietta - Yep, BBBB is the Better Burn Better Buns DVD.

Sabrina - Push TV is not a TV show....it is a website called Push TV. I don't know the exact URL because ever time I access it, it doesn't work, so I just do a google search for Push TV and it comes up (first one). Yes, you get 3 DVD's a month for $25.00. You get 2 with the personal trainer you pick with the goals you entered and 1 cardio DVD. There is a customized form you complete.

Oh and Sabrina, yes...Kelly only has the 2 DVDs out right now. She only did them to raise money for research of dementia and to aid in her father's treatment of the disease.

Hi everyone,

I love my Friday's! I don’t have to go into the office, so I basically have the day to do what I want.

Last night I did Better Bun Burner and most of the Strength one. I like them. I'll definitely wear my Jolies next time. I can’t do the planks at all. My deep lunges can only go so deep.

This morning I did the Endurance one. I just had lunch (topped it off w/ 2 Russell Stouffer candies~i just HAD to do it didn’t I?) and got my son on the bus, so now I'll do my scheduled Cathe (PLB and Supersets lower body blast) my legs feel a little tired from earlier, so we'll see how I do.

Marietta and Terri, just to let you know why I personally chose to start doing functional fitness... I've mentioned before my DH used to be a bodybuilder. He is VERY strong. He uses 95lb db for flys, for example. However, he has been injuring himself (not real, real bad) these last couple of years doing everyday movements, such as picking something up.
What these workouts do are to help work those little muscles that you may not be incorporating doing what I'll call "old school, gym style lifting".
One perfect exercise Tracie does is with a light weight (10 lb, db) is lunge to one side and stand up simultaneously pulling the weight back to your shoulder. So it's like you’re bending down to pick it up and putting the item on a high shelf.

Dallas, what kind of music is on the Cardio Coach CD's?

Lora, I remember Pushtv did get bad reviews quite a while ago. It seemed like a good program though. I can’t wait to hear what you think of it.

Wow Susan ....that's some workout!

I sure hope my stuff sells on E-bay that I have listed cuz I just spent money I shouldn't have. I love pink and had to have the pink sneakers Tracie has on in BBBB.....so I bought them on Zappos and they weren't cheap. Pink tennies.......whooo yooo!!

Nicole - I noticed that sample rotation you posted doesn't have a REST day, so I guess I'm not going to take a rest day tomorrow!! ***goes off to figure out rotation****

Can you tell my boss is gone??
 
Susan...thanks for the explanation (are you gonna get commission?). As I mentioned I'm a bit confused. Let me see if I got this straight...the TLT's are different then the PX90 stuff...right?

I think I might like the TLT's from what I saw on the website...that PX stuff is confusing...does it all come in sets or something?

Oh...I went for a 4-mile run at lunch. I also did some tricep work. I've run quite a bit this week...think I better lay off tomorrow because I like to run early on Sundays before church. I'll try to let tomorrow be a total rest day, but that might not happen...we'll see.

How come I can never get any smiley faces on my messages?? Can someone tell me that??!!

Hi Everyone!

I just finished up the dinner dishes. We didn't get to go on our date night...no babysitter. That's OK, I'm tired. We all put our jammies on and are going to watch a movie and/or play a game.

I got my workouts. I haven't had a chance to do anything with them. This weekend.

Sabrina ~ I got my jeans at Marshall Field's soon to be Macy's.:-( That makes me sad. I remember the Field's truck pulling up in front of my house at Christmas time when I was a child. It was always great excitement in my house. Ever try the Express ones? I like them too.

Nicole ~ How are the kids? Everyone well? I sure hope so.

Lora ~ I may have to order that Kelley's DVD especially since she's raising money for a good cause.

Susan ~ Hey, I should have my dh try these new DVDs. He's had quite the year with injuries as well. I know he lifts heavy and has for a long time. As for CC, I only have volume #2 at the moment and the music is instrumental. I usually like listening to rock while running, but it's a nice change of pace. That Sean has a nice soothing, but motivational voice. I wish I had the iPod so I could see him. }( :p LOL!

Marietta ~ I hear you on the rest day. Today was supposed to be, but I figured I like Sunday's free, but I still end up doing something. I have troubles with those smiley's from time-to-time. Sometimes I have to click it twice.

Good evening,
ANother very busy day here. I did MM Lower only,Bowflex 3 sets ea. leg extensions, leg curls, leg press and seated calves, Then I did Marietta's rolling hills treadmill workout,which I started through a second time but had to stop at 4.5 miles because of time. I had a computer tech here from 1-5. My computer is faster and my laptop is up and running. I can even get on the internet now with my pda. I did not get the workout I had hoped for in, but got more accomplished. Hopefully I can tryout Cardio Coach #5 tomorrow and get an upper workout and abs in.

Dallas, I think cardio coach #4&5 have the best music. #5 has more vocals in it and so far is my favorite. I listened to the whole thing in the car when I went to pick up my grandchildren yesterday. They use a lot of trance, Enigma type music.
