HARD CORE FITNESS MANIACS FOR TUES DEC 7

Roselyn-you did a HIIT after Cardio Burn :D You ARE a maniac!

So, I almost went into a homicidal rage today with my DVD player. It locked up about 15 times so I finished the workout using my timer and just doing the best I could. I had Newport on the schedule today but I was far too crampy to tackle that one today. Also, I had to switch shifts w/ my coworker so I was a bit sho...rt on time yesterday. I did Lauren Brooks Vol 2 the smoker w/ the finisher and the killer abs. It should have only been a 30 min workout but with all the freakin' dvd problems, it came out to about 50. Anyway, it's done and no one is dead so I would call that a success. :D

Today was cardio and I wanted to a premix from Rapid Fire. This is one fun workout DVD. Lots of premixes so I chose the Shadow Boxing, Heavy Bag and Medicine Ball Core premix. It was really fun. I haven't done the heavy bag section yet so that was new for me today. It was really cool and I want a heavy bag. I just did it kicking and punching the air. Still got a great workout.

There is also a standing core section in this workout that I'll have to try soon. I watched a little of it today and it looks fun.

CARDIO & ABS STATS:
55 minutes total
11 minutes below zone
26 minutes in zone
19 minutes above zone
406 calories burned

I did Cathe"s Intensity DVD adding in the 12 min Bootcamp bonus. Great workout:D
Workout was 69 mi 538 calories HR 137 avg 165 max. I decided to do High Reps tomorrow since I doubt Lower Blast will be here today. That was so weird not having a disc When I get home I may do some yoga or I may shower and go back to the frustration of problem solving with two computers

Debbie, I ordered Rapid Fire last night I am looking forward to it. I posted my answer back to you kind of late yesterday on Total Body.

Theresa sorry about the DVD player. Glad no one was hurt :D

Roselyn that was some workout . Great job.

Good Morning -

Roselyn - I agree with Diane Sue and Theresa - great work today :).

Theresa - What IS it with electrical devices designed to make our lives easier  Honestly, after my last bout with my handy dandy personal PC, I developed a cold sore, and an eye 'twitch.' Your post made me laugh - I swear 'they' aren't inanimate (all our gadgets). They LIKE to watch us get all plexed out and blow our O rings. It amuses them. I am glad everyone survived your ordeal - good on you for sticking out the frustration to get your workout in anyway (definitely earned extra points). Chalk one up for the humans ;)

Debbie - You have me convinced -- that sounds like a really fun workout. Good stats there, too. My 'work' computer is at home -- I do writing consultation (that's vague, but a clear explanation would be long winded) and also a newsletter for a non-profit org. here in town. My virus protection bonked on me. It wouldn't let me remove/replace it (very weird) - so I had to figure out how to fix the one I had. It wouldn't update or ... anything. Just kept telling me it couldn't find my 'root kit ???' Still not sure what THAT is - I just know it's ... important. I did finally find it (though I couldn't tell you where ) and everyone seems to be communicating just fine now. I am a computer illiterate-idiot (illiteridiot :p) and like Theresa, just happy there weren't any casualties.

Diane Sue - I'm anxious to try Intensity but haven't even previewed it yet. If you say it was GREAT, I'm even more curious. You are trying to decide between yoga and computer problem solving??? Those seem like almost polar opposite activities. Are you having problems now? Gawd, I hope not. I'll go back and see if I missed something in a previous post. Hope you get to do the yoga :)

Yesterday, I did chest and back meso 3, week one. Had a great workout but again, there were quite a few weight adjustments I had to make. This was fine by me ;) -- I'll repeat this week again though, and probably just go through the whole cycle -- really enjoying it. I also did a 50/10 (work/rest) bodyweight exercise circuit: 25 of them, alternating between lower and upper. It was actually really fun.

Today, I don't know. I only have 2 Insanity workouts left (well, 3 - but one of them is the cardio recovery workout) and I am done with month one. I may do Pure Cardio today, but ... I'm just not sure. Trying to figure out a leg workout to go with this rotation - may do some variation on the squat rack routine -- not quite sure how that will look yet either, though. Also considered doing the Cardio Recovery and some steady state. So. you can tell, I am clearly ... unclear. DS got invited to assist his coach with some younger soccer players. I forgot that was on Monday nights -- so, we didn't get our tree or start decorating. Plan to do that tonight.

Have a good day, everyone.

Lori

I came home and decided to shower and get at the computers instead of Yoga. I would just be tense and anxious about the computers while doing yoga anyway. I have 3 different computers that need me to do something. I already got my problem fixed on this one. DH bought a 3 PC package from Avast. It had me delete my older version and I couldn't find the key. When I did I thought I was a real dummy since it was the attachment LOL. My computer started acting up and giving me all of these security warnings even though it had installed the trial version. So, I spent a bunch of time on something that was dumb this morning at 4:30 before my workout. I was thinking I should have done a heavybag workout:rolleyes: Now I have to go to my laptop which has all of my stuff in it and try and find why there is no audio:confused: Then I have another laptop dh used a lot to do the antivirus on and find some files I need to help log time for him. I could not get them to come up on this computer. Just a lot of time consuming stuff, I hate paying someone else to go through it. Besides the people we use is quite a long way from where I live. I trust them. We have tried others and lets just say you learn afterwhile that they are not all that educated on the latest stuff.

Lori, I have enough computers around here I should have one running LOL. I have another I let the kids use that was mine. The mouse button falls off. If I use it I like to get out a mouse to hook up to it. I just keep the free antivirus on it. I just have to reinsert the key every 6 months.
I thought I was really working on the Intensity workout. I thought I was working hard and then Cathe says something about it getting harder. I thought you have got to be kidding. I did add some jumping into the low impact Hiit segment which was at the last of the workout. It was easy to follow. No real tricky moves that I didn't know. She said to get 8 to 10 lb dumbbells out for the Bootcamp bonus. I just used 8's since I knew I would be working out tomorrow with weights. This was a nice quick little segment. I could see me using it as an add on to other circuit type workouts. You sound llike me on the decision making. Sometimes I just don't know what I am in the mood for.

Roselyn - Great workout this morning! Glad you are enjoying them all so much. Makes a huge difference!

Theresa - What's the deal with your DVD player? That sucks and I know how annoying it can be. Is it the DVD or the player that is giving you trouble? Anyways, nice workout regardless of the set back.

Diane Sue - I am glad you like Total Body workout, I'll probably start doing those from her new releases around the end of January/February to get ready for spring. You will LOVE Rapid Fire! It's right up your alley! Also, I have Avast as well and I know there are problems with the freeware version. Mine keeps flagging me about my USB devices. I just close the warning but what a pain.

Lori - Hope your computer problems are behind you. These virus programs can cause havok on computers, I just had a bout with mine. Just very frustrating.

Debbie, I have never had a problem with Avast freeware. My problem was with the 3 user one dh purchased. They have you enter the registration key differently than they used to. I used to just copy and paste it into the box. Now it is attached to the e mail. You download to the desk top first. It had me remove my other version. I got it figured out though. I find that interesting that it has issues with your USB devices. Maybe it is the level you have it set for? I had that issue and worse with McCaffee. I thought my computer was broke till I uninstalled it.

Hey Everyone!!

I'm back!! Long story short is that my computer at home was down until the week of T-Giving and work has been soooooo busy. Also, on black Friday I woke up with severe low back pain. I figured I worked too hard doing Intensity so I just took it easy for a few days. By Tuesday of last week I was in excrutiating pain and had to go to the hospital on Wed. for a kidney stone.......ARGH. Needless to say I have been in recovery for the past week and haven't done much in the way of exercise. I have been reading the posts, but have been to depressed to respond. I have boxes EVERYWHERE in the new house and have not felt well enough to put ANYTHING away yet....

Diane Sue - The same thing happened to my Intensity DVD!!! I opened the wrap to find NOTHING!! They sent me a new one in 3 days.

Debbie - Nice workout today! I can't wait to get back to work.

Theresa - LOL on the flippin' DVD player!!! You made me laugh, so I had to stop in and post....too funny, although annoying as all h@##!! Mine usually just stops dead in the middle of a DVD and will not FF or RW....argh!

Roselyn - Nice workout today!

Lori - Nice work with Insanity! I hope you get time to put the tree up and decorate tonight. :)

I miss everyone and hope to be back soon. This just sent me into serious "blah-ville" and I'm really not feeling back to up to par just yet. I hope to workout some time by the end of this week.

TTYL,

Cheryl

Meals today were:
B- mixed berries with Gaspari vanilla whey, kefir, organic unsweetened coconut and almonds
L- Clean Eating Magazine Tai Chili
D- Clean Eating Magazine Curried Chicken and Cauliflower Soup

Cheryl, I am so sorry. I hope you get a speedy recovery. I know things like that can leave you feeling weaker for awhile. I wonder how they managed to package those dvds and miss the dvds? That was a first for me.
