HARD CORE FITNESS MANIACS FOR THURS DEC 16

Cardio today, I did Michelle Dozois Cardio Burn and then a an aerobics kickboxing segment from Rapid Fire, just trying to see what the dvd is about and so far loving it and then I did Rapid Fire abs/core.

We have ice here in St. Louis, schools closed but even though our Catholic school is closed our church rectory is open I guess because I have not had a call from our Monsignor not to come in, gee come on give us a day off, he wants us to slide on in to work I guess.

Have a good workouts and a good day everyone.

Morning :D

You know what? I am reeeeeeally digging these endurance workouts. The routines are quick and I don’t have to hit the pauses botton between each set, sinces my weights are not heavy. Confession, cookie monster:eek: Yesterday, I took home a huge sheet of peppermints cookies barks, OMG these cookies are to die for LOL. I woke up around 12ish and got busy with it, crazy, huh, I know.

I need to go back to 'visual' writing EVERYHTING down again, that I eat, I do so much better when I can plan it and see it on paper, so yeah! that's what I am going to do. My upper body is sore, liken it.

Roselyn-sorry to hear about the ice....that is the WORST :( Nice workout and tell that priest to forget it, God wants you to stay home :D

Teddy-we had a so-called friend bring over treats yesterday :D I indulged in WAY too many myself. Good work this a.m.

Yesterday I did the Step and HIIT (Hi) portion of Intensity. This is one heck of a workout. I need to make sure I am fueled up before this one. Of course, for you Insanity grads this was probably a warm up  Today may just be a stretch or short kettlebell workout. We are SUPER busy here at work and I got about 3 hours sleep :( I tried to go to bed early but that didn't happen and then I got woke up with a nasty calf cramp. Anyway, I'll try to get back here later :)

Roselyn - I agree with (and laughed at) Theresa's comment. Ice really scares me more than any other driving condition. I hope you get to stay home. Great cardio today :)

Teddy - Glad you're liking STS. The endurance workouts really do clip along. I remember being unable to be as tidy as Cathe and her crew were -- didn't have time to put all my weights away during them. My workout room looked pretty chaotic by the time I was done. Night time can be a tougher time -- maybe because one's guard is down and cookies voices (calling to you) seem louder. Writing things down seems to help me a lot, too. Good work on back and triceps. I like working those 2 together.

Theresa - Ugghhh, on your lack of sleep before a busy day. That can be miserable. The step segment (before the Imax version of Intensity) surprised me. I was sort of expecting it to be less aggressive than the rest of the workout. I really don't think it was. Seemed like she threw in some extra "mini blasts" to keep it hopping. Cathe did a good job with this one, I think. Pretty fun though, too -- wtg burning through it :) . Hope your calf doesn't give you any more trouble and that your day goes smoothly.

Yesterday was nutty. I got an extra work assignment and had 2 appointments (who scheduled THOSE back to back  ???). It ended up being an unplanned rest day and I really had a hard time not getting frustrated about that - could have used a workout. I need to look at my workout schedule and figure out how to rearrange things; I haven't done that yet. I'm thinking about doing Insanity Core Cardio and Balance and then Meso 3, week 2 shoulders, bi's, tris ???? maybe ???? Today is kind of busy too though, so ... I don't know.

Hope you all have a good day.

Lori

Well, my computer finally crashed today here at work. I don't have time to write up my workout but I worked my legs. I'll report what I did tomorrow.

This is going to be a fun day....

My workout this morning was Lower Body Blast with the leg conditioning drills 77 minutes, 466 calories. I then did Turbo Fire Fire 30, 31 minutes, 280 calories. Total workout time is 1 hr 48 minutes and calories burned was 746. I really liked using my new Bowflex Select Tech weights.

OK, I had to leave for a bit. Yesterdays meals were:
post workout-oatmeal with vanilla whey and organic maple syrup
l-Mcdonalds southwest grilled chicken salad which I bought home and added some spinach to
s- tuscan vegetable soup from Schwanns (very low cal)
d- vegetable omelet and asparagus
s- vanilla whey with honey and almonds butter

Lower Body Blast weights-
walking lunge-17.5 lb dumbbells
leg press- 2 sets 15 reps 22.5 lb
barbell squats- 40 lb
front lunge pick up- 10 lb dumbbells
cardio burst split jumps
warrior side lunge- gliding disc no weight
platform deadlift barbell-40 lb
barbell plie squats- 40 lb
disc side lunge- no weight
cardio burst- ice breakers
single leg deadlift- 17.5 lb
15 & 1 elevated lunge dumbbells- 8 lb dumbbells (they use none but suggest you can use weight. I dropped to 8's from the 10's I struggled with last time. This really gets the legs on fire)
Hover Squats- 10 lb dumbbells
sit and slides- gliding disc no weight
cardio burst low box jumps
wide stance deadlift with barbell- 40 lb
barbell static lunge - 40 lb
Floor work with versa loop- perform better black heavy loop
Table Top floorwork- 3 lb dumbbells
16 minute leg conditioning drills(these really get in there after all of the other stuff. I like the barre work)

Hi Everyone!

I'm so glad to FINALLY be back and able to post a workout! My doc cleared me to restart exercise yesterday, although I have to admit I was doing some Yoga and walking over the past week. Today I opted for Supersets, although I feel like such a WIMP!! I had a hard time even doing half the weight and found myself getting exhausted at about 40 min into the workout. I guess it's going to take my body time to get back in shape - ARGH. The kidney infection really did me in......it was brutal. I ended up having to have a procedure done to "zap" the stones, but I had some complications and ended up with a very serious infection. I also spent a few days in the hospital - never a good time!!

Diane Sue - Nice workout - as usual!! I can't wait to try Lower Body Blast....Do you like it?

Debbie - Sorry about the computer issues...I feel your pain!

Lori - I can relate to the frustration at the "unplanned" rest day. I had about 17 days of "unplanned" rest days, not to mention "unplanned" time off of work, etc. I hope you get a great rotation worked out. :)

Theresa - Most people I know get calf cramps when they are pregnant! I hope you get some rest tonight.

Teddygirl - I'm sure you have been working hard enough to work off those cookies!! They sound delicious!

Roselyn - I hope you can take the day off and don't have to "slide in" to work! Nice workout this morning. :)

Ok...I better get back to work. It's good to be back, although I wish I could say my body felt better already! Have a great day.

Cheryl

Cheryl- OH MY GOSH   I am so glad you are feeling better, but my goodness, what an ordeal. I had wondered how you have been, and I had just assumed busy. Did you have an ESWL? Did they have to put a stent in? Again, I am glad you are on the mend and it's no suprise that your strength has suffered, what you went through is no joke. It will come back soon, just be patient with your body :)

Cheryl, it is so good to hear you are finally better. I can't believe you had to spend time in the hospital. That had to be quite a lot to go through with the move and renovating. I am sure your body will take a bit to adjust to it's full capacity. :D I bet you are soon back to normal.

Cheryl...wow, that does not sound pleasant. Glad you're back and clear to work out, though. I am sure it feels good to be able to get back into things...considering what you've had to deal with it's totally understandable that your body needs time to work back up to your normal workouts.

Yeah, that step portion of Intensity pretty much destroyed me...not that I actually finished it. I'm not used to working cardio that hard, but lately I've been thinking I need to get a bit more in. I'm 32 and I'm noticing that despite a genetic tendency to being light, there's a weeedle extra around my waist and I'm not pleased.

Anyway, here it is nearly midnight and I just finished my workout a bit ago. It was High Reps.
