Happy Valentine's Day!!! What are you doing to celebrate?

Dh and I are going out with friends this evening. He has ALWAYS brought me chocolate on Valentine's Day - because he knows it's my first love. My "no sugar" thing kind of ruins that - hmmm, we'll have to get creative I guess.;-) Have a great day!

Trish

Last year, my hubby brought home candles and chocolates (sugar free choc's). I love candles especially the warm vanilla cookies, apple and pumpkin kind. Hope he does this again as I am running out of my candles from last year.
Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!

Going to lunch at a nice Mexican place (dinner time too packed), and seeing the movie Sideways. My MIL is watching our kids. I am so excited, we hardly go out.

Hubby made me a gift. It's on my picturetrail.

We also had a romantic bath yesterday with candles and a massage.

Your pics look great! It's really neat that he made you a gift. It looks like it's made out of feathers, is that right? Does he do lots of craft-type stuff? Where did he get the idea from?

BTW - I like your ring!

Trish

Trish,

Yes, they are feathers from our Blue and Gold Macaw, Sundance. Our birds shed their feathers every now and then and we save them. They're so beautiful, he finally found something to do with them.

My husband is a Mechanical Engineer by trade and very creative. He has a shop at the back of our house where he does wood and metal work. Last year he welded me a heart...it's very, very cool. He loves to make things.

He'll be tickled to hear your compliment.:)

It's my son's birthday today!!! Awww...my little valentine!! He turns 9. We're going to take him to his favorite restaurant.

Just this minute made a dinner reservation for DG and me at our favorite neighborhood place. It'll be packed but mostly with people we know. Can't wait. They always have a special menu this day.

Enjoy everyone!!

I gave dh little gifts all week long and we really celebrated yesterday (sunday)... after sleeping in brunch at ihop (i know it doesn't sound romantic but it's what we were both in the mood for), store-browsing, wine shopping, saw the movie Sideways (dh loved it, I thought it was okay...little slow for my tastes). Dinner at Panera (talk about high carb day!) and back home for a relaxing evening. I was so sorry to see the day end.

btw, dh gave me a gift cert for a 1.5 hour massage. :)

We're not planning to do anything for Valentine's Day. My husband did suprise me yesterday with a bunch of cd's of bootleg Prince concerts and he burned copies of every Van Halen cd from the David Lee Roth years. I had all those albums when I was a teenager, but never bothered to get them on CD. So, he burned copies from coworkers.

I love when he gives me these kinds of cd's. They don't cost anything, but he actually takes the time to search them out for me without me even asking.

I had hoped to send our daughter over to my father's this coming weekend so dh and I could spend a night alone, but alas...Dad and his wife are off to Florida tomorrow. Oh well....

Wow, what an awesome gift! It is beautiful, sentimental and creative! GO DH!

We hung out at home, split a bottle wine while we chatted and hung around relaxing for a while. Then we went to dinner at one of our favorite places. BF even got my favorite table! It was a nice night out and gave us the chance to kick back and have some laughs, but omst of all it was nice to be together again after two Valentine's Days missed during BF's deployment!

RE: Happy Valentine's Day!!! What are you doing to cel...

I received chocolates and 2 cards last night for V day...one from my DH and one from my puppy!:+

Going out to eat on Saturday night to the great restaraunt in NJ called the Garlic Rose...OBVIOUSLY you have to be a fan of garlic to enjoy it. I LOVE THIS PLACE! YUMMY! Only go there on special occasions so it's a real treat for us! I am looking forward to it!

Have a great work out!

I smoked my last cigarette on March 17, 2004 at 10:00 pm!

Well, Valentine's is such an American event and too commercialized for my husband's taste. So, I get nothing from him, year after year!! I had a bet for $5 with my kids yesterday that Dad would bring nothing home for me. I won!!

He was also home late, after the kids were in bed so we couldn't celebrate anything. We are celebrating tonight with the kids after an event at my daughter's school. It will be a family thing. I have some body shop smelly stuff for my 11 year old and my 8 year old wanted new accessories for her Groovy Girls, so that's her present. And I have some choc truffles for my husband because if he can't inhale 200 grams of choc every night after a hard day's work, he's not a happy camper.

So last night, my hubby and I watched "Kill Bill, vol 1" because I wanted to see what all the critical brouhaha was all about and halfway through all the fountains of blood and head slicings my husband turned to me and said, "hey, this is a fabulously romantic film you chose for us for Valentine's day!" I had to laugh from behind my hands splayed over my eyes so I couldn't see the screen......ghastly!

But, I do have a new black sexy number I haven't tried on for him yet, and a new red set from VS....so maybe tonight, someone will get lucky!?!

Wendy - enjoy going out to eat now, because in....hmmmmm...about 80 days you won't have enough room in your stomach to eat much. My husband and I went out to eat at Outback Steakhouse just a couple weeks before my daughter was born and I was so uncomfortably full just after the appetizer. It was a bummer.

How are you feeling? You're just getting ready for the third trimester, eh? I thought the first and the third just draaaaaaaged! The first you're so tired, and the third you are just so sick of being pregnant!

Can you still do Cathe's workouts? I had to stop working out when I hit 8 months.

My Valentine's started off with getting my kids and their boxes to school with their gifts. I helped my oldest son into his school and went to close the passenger side door to the van after getting out his robot valentine box and I didn't push the door hard enough and the wind took it and it flew into my arm. Hurt like you know what and I thought I broke it it hurt so bad. I just have a huge bump and it is turning pretty colorful. It hurts to put my arm on anything.

The rest of the day went pretty well. I received a dozen red roses from my husband and we ordered take out and ate supper at home with no kids. They went to my MIL. We actually watched a movie with having to put it on pause a dozen times. Wont mention the rest of the evening. It is kind of funny when you think about how much you spend on a VS sexy number and it only stays on for maybe a minute.
