Happy thoughts for my brother, please

My dad is visiting my brother in SC this week, I wanted to go as well, but couldn't get the time off work. And the thought of 12 hours in the car with my dad - ugh!! Brother is career Air Force, and at the end of Sept he is being sent to TX for additional training then being shipped off to Bahgdad at Thanksgiving time. Its supposed to be a 6-12 month trip. 6-12 months - thats a heck of a good estimate!! He was in Saudi Arabia at the last Gulf War, and he is going to be part of a unit supporting Army troops this time. I really don't want him to be over there, but that's his job and he has to go where he's told. Please send some happy thoughts out!

Thanks!
Nan

Better than just happy thoughts I will keep him in my prayers Nan.

6 - 12 month estimate, is the person who gave him that time frame a former repair person? :p

Prayers and hugs to your brother, and many thanks for serving his country to keep us all safe, and to make the world a better place.

Thoughts and prayers for your brother. Keep us posted on how he's doing.
I would love to send him a Christmas card if you think he would enjoy messages from home:)

Nan~

Sending good thoughts and prayers for your brother's well being and safe return home.

I know how you feel. My nephew (and godson) is a captain in the Air Force and just told me he is going back to Iraq right before Christmas. This will be his 3rd tour and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about him and his safety.

Nan...I'm sending an abundance of positive, happy thoughts your brother's way :) Please thank him for his service and bravery.

Take Care!

Hi Nan

I will be praying for your brother and your family. My DH is a retired from the AF. He was stationed in Saudi Arabia during the Gulf War and Operation Iraq Freedom. You should be so proud of your brother!!

I would also like to send your brother a Christmas card. It is my way of showing the troops that I support them. Other than flying my flag and my support the troops ribbon on my car.;)

Sending

happy thoughts and prayers. My brother was in both gulf wars as a merchant marine captain. This after being wounded in Vietnam. At some point I stopped worrying so much and said to myself "this is the life he chose". Today with the ability of email it makes it a bit easier. I pray for our military that are all over the world every night. We sometimes forget that there is a lone soldier guarding an obscure installation or walking the DMZ between N and S Korea. My nephew just entered the Army. This after obtaining a degree from U of Florida (Go Gators!) in aeronautical engineering. Had offers for the private sector but said he wanted to go military and serve - fly helicopters. I stopped long ago asking why and now just hug and pray. Thankful for those that let us sleep in peace at night.

I wish you well . . .your comment about driving in the car had me laughing.

Nan, my thoughts and prayers, along with my heartfelt thanks, go out to your DB and his family -- and keep some for yourself, too.
