HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Cathlete
I just wanted to say that to all of you. So you know that I am thankful for each and everyone of you that give such great advice, even if sometimes we don't agree. I hope you all have a great thanksgiving!

Kathy

Thank you, Carol. I was actually surprised that no one has posted, but I know I'm a day early. But there's so way I'm getting to the computer tomarrow. It's hard enough today, just trying to get everything done, ya know.

You're welcome!! Fitness Goddess just posted too! I know what you mean about getting everything done!! I'm working tonight too!! My poor hubby is stuck doing a lot when he gets home from work today, but oh well! It'll still be fun to have everyone over tomorrow! I look forward to Thanksgiving every year!!

Carol, you poor thing ahving to work tonight of all nights, how stressfull. It sounds like your husband is a big help though, so that takes a lot off your shoulders. My Dh will be baking the cheese cake. Yes, we're having cheese cake instead of Pumpkin Pie.
Linda, I know what you mean that it seems impossible for the holidays to already be here. It's easier now that we here in Minnesota have some snow. But where did this year go, I mean really? It seems like it just flew by, ffwwiisshh!

Happy and safe Thanksgiving to all! Since I am morally opposed to cooking anything, anyone who wants to e-mail me some of their leftover turkey would receive my deepest and baldest thanks!

I may not here omit how, notwithstand[ing] all their great pains and industry, and the great hopes of a large crop, the Lord seemed to blast, and take away the same, and to threaten further and more sore famine unto them. By a great drought which continued from the third week in May, till about the middle of July, without any rain and with great heat for the most part, insomuch as the corn began to wither away though it was set with fish, the moisture whereof helped it much. Yet at length it began to languish sore, and some of the drier grounds were parched like withered hay, part whereof was never recovered. Upon which they set apart a solemn day of humiliation, to seek the Lord by humble and fervent prayer, in this great distress. And he was pleased to give them a gracious and speedy answer, both to their own and the Indians' admiration that lived amongst them.
For all the morning, and the greater part of the day, it was clear weather and very hot, and not a cloud or any sign of rain to be seen; yet toward evening it began to overcast, and shortly after to rain with such sweet and gentle showers as gave them cause of rejoicing and blessing God. It came without either wind or thunder or any violence, and by degrees in that abundance as that the earth was thoroughly wet and soaked and therewith. Which did so apparently revive and quicken the decayed corn and other fruits, as was wonderful to see, and made the Indians astonished to behold.
And afterwards the Lord sent to them such seasonable showers, with interchange of fair warm weather as, through His blessing, caused a fruitful and liberal harvest, to their no small comfort and rejoicing. For which mercy, in time convenient, they also set apart a day of thanksgiving.

Kathy I'm PRN at work which basically means I make my own schedule, but our nurse manager asks us to do one Winter holiday each year. I usually work New Year's Eve (for night shift the night before a holiday counts as having worked it), but this year I decided I'd like to take the two weeks off my daughter has from school with her. I've never been able to to that, and she's turning 13 next week! I feel like I'm missing her entire childhood. So ... I'm working the night before Thanksgiving instead. I've made most of the things already (including my pumpkin pies!), and all we have to do is warm them up. Hubby does the turkey every year anyway, and he'll throw in the yams with it tomorrow morning. I'll get some sleep before everyone comes over, and it'll be cool. I'm so used to this - working all night then sleeping for about four hours - that I'll be fine. I'm also working Friday night even though I wasn't scheduled, because they're very short and they need the help. What can you do, you know? Someone has to be there and take care of patients - LOL!! We have no snow, but we are supposed to get rain ... yuck! I'd rather have snow! I have NO idea where this year went!! I can hardly believe it's almost December!! I'm getting ready to leave soon, so enjoy your holiday!!

Ditto Kathy:7 Thanks to all my cyber friends for your advice, encouragement and occassional sympathy.

Anyone planning a Thanksgiving day workout? I'm going to do IMAX 2 cuz I just love that one! (Plus I have a piece of pecan pie with my name on it:9 ) Enjoy your day.

TO: Aquajock!

:D Oh AquaJock you are just too funny! I am not into cooking and all the dishes afterward either! I'd much rather bring a dish to pass, so I am throwing a drumstick your way! I hope you like dark meat! I guess we are in the minority!

Wishing you all a full-filling Thanksgiving. My mom and dad are here from Oklahoma. Nothing like mom's home cooking. I don't care how long I have cooked a turkey, it just never tastes like mom's. Especially the gravy!!!!

Cheers all and enjoy!:9

Happy Thanksgiving! Wishing everyone a safe journey if traveling, and here's to many happy new memories with your loved ones! :D

I'll be doing Boot Camp before everyone comes over for dinner!! That way I can eat pumpkin pie ... LOL!!

Thanks for posting that, fit@home, lest we forget how it all began!

Kathy and all you wonderful Catheites, when we say our blessing and send our thoughts to those present and absent for whom we are thankful, I'll be thinking of this place and all of you because you have made my life richer and I am so grateful to know you are all out there!

A-Jock, we do a 25 pound bird so everyone can take home leftovers. Check you email for a care package for the culinarily challenged! Or better yet, be here by 4:00!

Happy Turkey day all!! I have got slow and heavy bis and tris on the agenda....did KPC last night so I can eat lots of peach cobbler! Have a great day! Donna.

I am having a "unplanned cardio day" to offset the damage! "I can't believe I ate the whole thing!," as the old Alka Seltzer commercial used to say! I tried to eat slowly and not over do it but with such a vast array of food, I still felt like I was going to explode and that was BEFORE dessert. Thank god, I didn't explode because we know who would have had to clean me up. Me! LOL!
