Hair color and beauty question...

Getting my gray hair colored is getting expensive! What is the best hair color product out there for general overall color with lasting power? I am clueless when it comes to girly stuff, have never colored my hair before, never had manicure, and learned my basic makeup "skills" from a Teen magazine! SO....I need something easy!

Also, my sis in law who is in her mid 30's wants some anti-wrinkle cream for Xmas. She has somewhat sensitive skin so worry the retinol stuff might be too harsh (??) Anything out there that actually works that doesn't have an offensive scent and isn't majorly expensive?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Stacy,
I have been coloring/highlighting my hair for years, it does get expensive. When dealing with gray hair the best IMHO is to go light, start by highlighting to a blonde color. The nice thing about hi & low lighting is you can do it gradually, it takes some time to adjust if you are going from a darker color to such a light color. I was a brunette all my life, my sister had jet black hair, we are both blondes now in our mid 50's. The blonde allows you to highlight less often, you don't get the "skunk" look! When I first started coloring my hair I could do it once every 3-4 months, now I need to go every 2-3 months for a "root touchup". The only thing I dislike is that it takes about 2 hours for the cut and highlight.
Wrinkle cream is a tough one, if you have a sephora in your area she could go try out some samples and see what she likes. Olaf Henriksen has some good products for all ages and is good for sensitive skin. During the holidays they usually offer some nice package deals at Sephora.

Rodan and Fields supposedly has good wrinkle creams. My sis is a dermatologist, and she sells it! Well, actually her dh is a rep, but she uses and recommends it. It's $$$, though! I can't afford it.

I do my very.long hair myself and I have not been to a salon in over ten years. I am allergic to hair dye so I have to do myself. I use Gold Bond lotion all over my head and then I use Natural Instincts which you only leave on for fifteen minutes. If I did not do that the chemicals would burn my scalp. My daughter has thick hair like mine
