GS Legs--conquering approach? All? Some? Split?

I wanted to do all of GS Legs today, but was so dizzy after the standing work that I couldn't do the floorwork.

Trying to think of working-up-to-it options:

a) standing work one day, floorwork another day;

b) standing work in morning, floorwork in evening; (probably not gonna happen--once I get my workout in, I don't come back later for more)

c) change order: warmup, THEN floorwork, THEN standing work;

d) try timesaver premix #2;

e) keep going for it, intending to do beginning to end, and hope one day I won't be dizzy and can finish it all.

What would you suggest? Has anyone done my option "c"?

Thanks,
Gisela

I haven't done "c". I just did the whole thing. My suggestion would be to try timesaver premix #2, then once you feel comfortable with it, I would try the whole thing. Or, try (a) and when you feel comfortable, put them together for the whole workout. Take more rests in between if you need them. It is one tough workout but my favorite along with Legs & Glutes. Good luck.

I'd look into why you were dizzy: were you hydrated enough?

I suggest putting longer breaks in between sets/exercises as necessary. Don't go on to the next exercise until you have recovered your wind and are breathing near normally.

I agree with the other response about trying to take a longer break until you feel more steady and I also like Timesaver #2. Sometimes when I feel like it is too much I use the chapter/mix and match options and then I can just pick what exercises I want to do. It's kind of like my own timesaver/pre-mix.

Once you make sure you are hydrated I would do Gs TSaver # 1 day 1
Tsaver # 2 Day 3 or 4...(one is standing only & one is standing/floor) build up your leg endurance that way for a couple of weeks.
Next I'd tackle it all at once
OR there is nothing wrong w/ Doing Standing Legs 1 day and Floor/Wt work another day. Many of us here do our legs 2 x a week like this. Personally I have seen AMAZINg results in strength and definition by doing legs 2 days a week (non-consecutive).

Hi Gisela,

The last time I did a rotation using GS, I actually did the standing/weight leg work earlier in the week. Then later in the week for a second leg w/o I did walking lunges, legs curls and extensions (I have a smith machine), and then the GS floorwork.

I've also done the GS standing/weight w/o and later in the week on a cardio day added the GS legs floorwork after cardio.

I usually do it all in the same w/o, but must admit splitting worked just fine for me. I haven't used the timesavers, so I don't know about that option.

Option C: I think if I did the floorwork first, I might not move on to the standing/weight.:7

Keep at it, it's a great w/o.

Usually I do it all at once, however, I have broken it up into 2 parts during the same day. Did the standing then had to take my daughter to school so it was about 90 minutes later before I got to the floor work. I found I was able to give it a little more "umphh" than when I do it all at once.

The all at once approach, when you build up to it, will give you better endurance though!

Keep working, you will get it all!:) :)
