((((((GOT CHINUPS???)))))))

Judi, I can not believe Cathe does BP to failure even at a reduced wt. It just doesn't seem smart to me without a spotter. JMO. I think you will still see great results even if you reduce your wt a little.

Linda, I think you are smart to bump the reps first and then the wt. I always get hung up on lifting "MORE"

I did 4ds upper body premix today. I was humbled. I really have lost strength. I haven't done a real traditional wt w/o in a couple of months. I really like kbs, but I am gonna have to go back to doing a rotation that incoporates both

- Oh, I was so hung up on the "MORE" for the longest time. For what? To what end? Injury? Now as long as I am working hard and I like the way I look then I am happy. I don't need to be some superhuman.Right now all I really want to do is lose weight!:p:p:p:p:p:p Wow! I am surprised that you have lost strength with the KB's especially since some of them you use are so heavy. Guess it's all about balance.

Judi - I agree with Catherine. Working to failure by yourself is dangerous. I never manage complete failure because I am always by myself and I find I get plenty of results.

This morning I did Imax 2 modifying blast 3 to air jumps, because left knee was not going to take all that 1 leg hopping. Also did ab work after each of the first six blasts. Workout was 57 minutes and burned 483 calories.

Abs
Hanging Leg Raises
8/8/9
SB Rollout
18/18/18

I really feel it's that old saying that one sport doesn't transfer over into another rings true with kbs and tradtional wt training. At least for me anyway. I think I was at my best when I was doing a mix of things. KBs have certainly been good for me in some ways.

Linda, abs after the intervals  You go girl!!

Guess KB's work you in a whole different way. Lot more functional fitness going on there and whole body work. Missing the isolation of traditional weight training.

Yeah, while Cathe was grapevining and side stepping after the intervals I was doing ab work. It certainly was a challenge!:p

Well, no workout for me. I got my 3rd shot in my foot. Apparently I should be doing better than I am and if it doesn't improve more I will get an MRI to check it out.

I hope to do something tomorrow, but may have to rest then too :(

Catherine- Sorry to hear your foot isn't healing as expected:( It must be very frustrating. Are there some things you can do that don't aggravate your foot? (ie. biking or lifting just upper body)

Have you heard anything more on your brother? He's been on my mind and I hope he is doing better.

Linda- Whoa..that was a good workout. I can't imagine doing abs between blasts. I really wished I had some versagripps again today. I had legs with various squats & deadlifts using 35#s and my forearms/grip gave out at the end:confused:.

Judi, still no news on DB. He went to a different specialist yesterday who is looking at his records and previous tests. He is also clueless at this point :( I can only imagine how my brother is feeling with no answers  Thanks for asking.

As far as the foot goes, it is better. But the podiatrist said it shouldn't be acting the way that it is with activity at this point. She also said it's ok for me to do whatever I want activity wise. Working out does not seem to aggravate it as much as going barefoot.

Today I did legs and shoulders with 1 minute cardio runs in between. Still can't squat yet.

Started with 4DS HIS warm-up through 1st blast.

Legs
Leg Extensions
12/12/12 - 55# (up 5#)
SL Deadlift
12/12/12 - 105#
Calf Raises

25/20/20/20 - 35's (done front/in/out/front)

Shoulders
OHP
10/10/10 - 25's
Lateral Raise
12/12 - 15's
12 - 12's (shoulder's are giving me issues so I am trying not to push them to hard, front of shoulders was toast by this point in an ache kind of way:()
Rear Delt Flyes
15/15/15 - 12's (maxed the reps at 10's, so up to 2#, but dropped reps)

Then finished wis stretch from 4DS LIS. Workout was 62 minutes and burned 520 calories.

Loving the fact that abs are still getting sore from ab work

Catherine - Still praying for your brother! And darn those stupid shoes!

I did CCV5 on the treadmill and a long stretch after. Got in 5.1 miles and burned 471 calories.

Linda- Wow...deadlifts with 105# WTG!! Maybe I'll get there one day now that I have ordered the versagripps. Yes...I want to condition my grip and forearms but I also want to be able to complete all the reps in a workout. I'll report back after I get them.

Catherine- Have you tried doing KB's with shoes on? Maybe that would help. Has the third shot given you some relief? Sending you good thoughts and healing vibes so you can get back to your workouts without pain.:)

Linda, I must insist you do some chinups :p:p Nice w/o btw;)

Judi, nice run!!

I have started (recently) kb'ing with shoes on and it seems to go better. I just prefer to do it barefoot :( But I will not till foot issues are resolved. Behaving sucks LOL!!

Judi - Nice job on CC 5. Actually, I can go even heavier on deads, but all the running in between makes it harder. Besides I am getting good DOMS in my hammies at 105# so I am just going to stay there for now.:p

Linda, I must insist you do some chinups :p:p Nice w/o btw;)

Catherine - Darn! You noticed those were missing from my workouts, huh?
Okay, Friday is back day, maybe I'll try some then.

I just spent four hours cleaning my car. I completely tore apart the back seats. I don't think I'll ever let my kids in there again!:p

The weather has been so nice here today!! Tomorrow will be a bit cooler, but it was nice to get a taste of Spring.

I hope to do something tomorrow.

This morning I had zero energy and took all I had to do something, so I changed it up and picked a couple I haven't done in awhile. I did Amy's Advanced Step Challenge adding the intervals from CTX Step & Intervals. Workout was 55 minutes and burned 456 calories.

I'm happy to report that I actually did pullups and chinups today:). One set of 12 pullups, one set of 12 chinups and a final set of 9 pullups using the medium pullup band.

I decided to drop my 1 RM numbers on a few exercises which I couldn't even complete the first set of 12. That tells me my numbers are too high. Apparantely the day I tested, I was having a strong day or rested too long. I was getting too hung up on the numbers...now I just need to keep progressing.

Hey ladies!! I gave myself another rest day. Just trying to let my foot do whatever it's supposed to do. I hope to do someting tomorrow.

Linda, nice job working out with zero energy!! That's dedication ;)

Judi-WTG on those chins and pulls!! I think you are doing the right thing by lowering the wts. As Linda said the other day more is not always better

I think I am a smidgen depressed. I am sure this will pass, but just not feeling myself lately :(

{{{Catherine}}} Completely understandable how you are feeling. Being forced to lay off working out for an injury really messes with my head. I had to take months off after my rotator cuff surgery and it was hell. Plus dealing with the mystery surrounding your brother's illness just adds to the stress. I'm thinking of you and pray your foot settles down so you can get back to a regular workout schedule. Hugs!

Thanks Judi!! Yeah, this winter has sucked. First the ice storm and 6 days without power. I've had some ongoing issues with a sister(another whole story) Then the foot and my brother,..... I am gonna be fine though. It's almost spring!!!

I did Lauren Brooks kb w/o this morning with an 8 kg bell to keep it light. Of course I wore shoes ;) Foot didn't bother me any. But it still bothersome when I go barefoot. Oh well. The podiatrist insist that I can do whatever activity that I want. But I am gonna try to keep everything as low impact as I can.

I don't know where my head is LOL!! I forgot the most important part of my post. I did 5 sets of 4 chinups :p Did them during some of the rest periods.

Enters with head hung! Forgot to do chins or pulls as I said I would. I will try and remember tomorrow.

Today was Back & Biceps cardioacceleration style. 1 minute runs between sets.

Started 4 DS HIS warmup thru first blast.

Back
DB Rows
10/10/10 - 40's **amazed how much I have to lower the weight when doing two arms as opposed to one***
BO SA Lat Raise
12/12 - 20's
15 - 15
DB Pullover
18/15/15 - 40#

Biceps

Standing DB Curls
15/12/12 - 25's
Incline DB Curls
12/12 - 20's
15 - 15's

Finished with 4ds His stretch. Workout was 53 minutes, burned 439

I did Amy Bento's "In The Ring" kickbox workout this morning. Rented the dvd from Netflix and liked it so I may have to buy this one. I've decided (I think:confused:) not to return to karate after suffering too many injuries. Kind of a bummer since I'm only an exam away from my black belt. So I'm a huge fan of kickboxing. I sure hope Cathe still plans to make MMA....I have the heavy bag, gloves, kicking pads etc....

Catherine- Nice work on the chins!:D

Linda- Great workout. I wish I could curl 25's but I'm only up to 20's and they are still tough:confused: Maybe when I finish STS......
