((((((GOT CHINUPS???)))))))

I actually felt some guilty pleasure knowing even Cathe gets breathless doing these. They are freaking hard!!

:D:D:D

I had a good session this morning. Katie got the AOS rope when it was on sale and we had fun playing with that a bit. This afternoon I did CTX All Step (step only) then attempted STS stability ball abs.:confused::confused: Spent most of my time staring at the TV LOL!! I finished that off with the Extended Stretch from STS. See, I am using Bits and pieces of STS :p

Linda, are you out there girl???

Catherine- I did Rythmic step this morning after seeing you post about it the other day. I hadn't done it in years because I struggled with the choreography. I think my learning curve with Cathe has improved greatly because I got most of it until the challenge when she puts it all together. For the life of me I couldn't remember what was coming up next:eek:

How did you like the stability ball abs? Freakin' one legged pikes:eek: How about those ski moves where your outer leg extends. I couldn't stay on the ball with those.

Sounds like you had a good session with Katie. How did you like the ropes? Hope your foot is holding up.

Linda- Ditto what Catherine said...... Hope everything is OK.

I put it off, but will do chins today later and will report back. Last time I did them was Tuesday, so I'm still getting in 2 sessions within 7 days.

I really need to get back to twice a week. I think my numbers would be better. Yesterday I did them after a kettlebell session. We did lots of swings, pushups and overhead presses so my upper body was just tired.

Let us know how it goes for you :)

Judi, I get that way too when it comes to the challenge. I think it's fatigue (mental and physical :p ) setting in.

I liked stability ball abs, but it's was a struggle for me since I haven't done any real ab work in months. My core got lots of work just trying to stay on the ball :D

I did STS plyo legs #1 this morning  I can not see for the life of me doing 70% of your 1 RM at that pace  Now grant it I am a lower body wussie, but geesh oh pete!! It's a good workout and more of a cardio for me since I couldn't go heavy. Although I am sure my legs will feel it!!

Judi, are you starting Meso 2 this week?? Keep us posted on how it goes!!

Did chins

I put it off, but will do chins today later and will report back. Last time I did them was Tuesday, so I'm still getting in 2 sessions within 7 days.

Several sets of not very many - tired I guess. At least I did them. My 10 yr. old grandson bought himself and Iron Gym to do chins & pushups! I'm going to get him Perfect Pushups for an Easter present - the kid's on his way! He is a real jock into a bunch of sports & is gearing up for baseball right now.

Cakebaker, I agree- at least you did them! Something is better than nothing and we all have our good days and not so good days ;) That's cool about your grandson. Sounds like you are a good infuence!!

Hey Everyone, busy weekend. Was even away for part of it, more business than pleasure.

Saw my niece(16) perform the lead in her high school play on Friday night. She was awesome and sick as a dog, I mean really sick. You wouldn't have known it though.

Okay now I am going to try to remember what I read.

Catherine
- Sorry about your brother. Nothing worse than not knowing. This last time my Dad was in the hospital that was his biggest fear that they would send him home without knowing what was wrong. I will pray for your family.

Judi - Are you ready for Meso 2?

Cakebaker - -Good job doing the chins. I have to admit I let mine slide for the time being.

Now here are my workouts. Still doing the cardioacceleration training, with the 1 minute cardio work in between sets instead of just resting.

FRIDAY

Back
Dumbbell Row
10/10 - 40's
10 - 35's
Bent-Over SA DB Lat Pull
12/12/12 - 15's
Dumbbell Pullover
15/15 - 40#
15 - 35#

Biceps
Standing Dumbbell Curl
10/10/10 - 25's
Braced Incline Dumbbell Curl
12/12/12 - 15's ???? (didn't write it down & can't remember if I did 15 or 20)

Don't know the time or calorie burn, because about 20 minutes in I somehow managed to turn off the HRM as far as time goes.

SATURDAY
Did 4 DS HIS & LIS cardio. Doing HIS first because I find doing this first and getting my HR up right from the beginning gets me better calorie burns.

Now this morning was suppose to be back to Chest, Shoulders & Triceps, but I just could not get out of bed and when I finally did there was not enough time for all three, so I am reorganing the split for this week. Today I did Chest & Triceps, and will move Shoulders to leg day (since I feel a lot of the chest work in my shoulders anyway). Then I will do the Abs & Calves on cardio days ad an add on. I also added an extra exercise (Close Grips) for tri's , since I changed it around and well I love working tri's.

MONDAY

Chest
Incline Dumbbell Press
12/10/10 - 35's
Dumbbell Flye
15/14/15 - 20's
Pushups
13/10/10

Triceps
DB Close Grip Press
10 - 30's
10/10 - 25's
DB Lying Extensions
10/10/10 - 20's (did a few extra assisted reps on the left, really need to catch it up to the right)
Kickbacks
20/18/18 - 12's

Work out was 57 minutes and burned about 500 calories(forgot to turn the HRM on for first 10 minutes)

They are so hard, probably the hardest exercise there is, that it's very easy to put them off or not do them at all. We must remember that when we do chins we are LIFTING OUR BODY WEIGHT - no wonder they are hard!

Started Meso 2 today. No pushups but the bench press and flies were just as tough. I found that many of the target weights (70% of 1 rep max) were the same weights I lifted while testing. I don't know how I'm going to lift the weights at 85-90%

Catherine- Any news on your brother?

Linda- YOU are one strong woman!

Cakebaker- ITA about chins & pulls. They never seem to get easier:(

I did an upper body w/o this evening. That included chinups 5,5,4,3 &3. Maybe I need to get my band back out again  After that I did STS stability ball abs. I don't know why, my abs were still sore from doing it Saturday  Then I did STS Extended Stretch.

Linda, nice w/o! How's the business going?

Judi, what was on tap for you today?

Cakebaker, do you follow a rotation or do your own thing?

Doin' my own thing w/ no rotations

My own thing is Pilates/yoga/ballet hybrid mix, which includes some upper body stuff (with NO weights); spinning 3X a week; boot camp class 2X a week; & extra pushups w/ Perfect Pushup handles. The chins are thrown in 2x a week also.

I did not buy the STS set because I don't work out that way. That's too much work for me!

Catherine - nice job w/ the chins!!!

This morning I did BM2 Timesaver cardio adding in an extra round of the bonus cardio and ab work from yesterday. But keeping with the cardioacceleration plan I did the ab work in between the cardio segments and the intervals. Workout was 57 minutes and calories burned 477. Don't know if that's right because my HRM had lost my personal stats.

ABS
Hanging Leg Raises
8/8/8
SB Roll Outs
18/18/18

Catherine - The business is going. Still have same client. She is seeing strength gains and is exicited. So that is fun. Put out some flyers last week, so now I wait & see. Also trying to get through taxes.

Judi
- Thanks for the compliment. You should really post your stats for STS. I'd like to see how it's going.

Unfortunately, I took the kids roller skating tonight and I got tripped. At this point I think I may have really screwed up my left hand and left knee. It will be interesting to see what morning brings.

OH NO Linda:( What a bummer.....I hope you didn't hurt your hand & knee too badly. Check back in the morning and let us know how you are doing.

I did the BM2 timesaver cardio today also! I can't believe what a difference 2 risers make. I really got my heart rate up.

I'm on Meso 2 of STS and my stats from Monday are below:

Bench Press
12/10/8--65 lb BB
Chest Flys
12/10/8--25's
Incline Bench Press
12/10/8--59 *dropped to 55 for last set
Incline Chest Flys
12/10/8--25's, 20,20
Front Press
12/10/8--20's,15,15
One Arm Side Lateral
12/10/8--12# *could have gone higher
Double Arm Side Lateral
To Failure--15 reps w/12's
Tricep Lying Extension
12/10/8,TF--15's TF=hit failure at only 6 reps:( I was tired!
Side Leaning One Arm OV Ext.
12/10/8--12# these are tough working against gravity
Kickbacks
12/10/8--14.5's. 13.25,13.25

This is at 70% of my 1 rep max. I hit failure on the last set of bench press and couldn't even get it in the rack. Scared me! I'm wondering how I'm going to do Meso 3 without a spotter:confused:

Catherine-- You out there?

Hey gang!! I am around, just not in much of a mood to post. My brother is getting worse and we still have no answers :(

Catherine - I am so sorry about your brother. I was really hoping that they would have some kind of answer by now. I will keep you and you brother in my prayers.

I woke up feeling very blessed today. Last night took the kids roller skating and got tripped. Landed really hard on my left knee and hand. In fact, when I first got up after the fall my left knee could not bear any weight at all. I thought I was domed. This morning though left hand is just badly bruised and knee will let me walk and do stairs. It will not allow me to bend to it 80 degrees or beyond and it wants absolutely no part in being responsible for lifting or lowering me into a seated position or to the floor (found that out lower myself into pullover position on the bench).

So anyway, today was suppose to be legs and shoulders, but was cancelled (the leg portion may have to be cancelled for the week) and instead I did Friday's Back & Biceps. Still did the cardioacceleration but the cardio 1 minute runs were not done as intensely.

Incline Dumbbell Curl
12/12 - 20's
15 - 15's (with a few extra on the left)

I started the cardio with HIS warmup through the first interval, then ended with the stretch from HIS modifying and stretch that required my leg to be bent. Workout was 45 minutes and calories burned 436.
