Good morning, Peeps!

jloewe

Cathlete
Hope everyone has a great day!!!

I have Boot Camp in store for today, no dreaded BC/ME combo, however...going to stick with simply circuit workouts for the time being.

Dani...I could not agree more with your post on the OD forum regarding the party and your husband, he put you in a bad situation, and it's just not right, no matter how infrequent it happens...I applaud your stance.

I am glad to hear that your husband is not normally like that...I myself have tons more fun sober than I ever did as a drunk, and I get to remember everything as well..not always the case years ago!!

So excited for our Tri-Stater lunch on Sunday, Ellie...did you read Cathe may be joining us?? I don't care if she comes and sits right next to me...I'm still ordering something fattening, and loving every bite. Diane will be pleased when I tell her there is a Boscov's at the Deptford Mall...I am pleased that there is a Modell's Sporting Goods at the Mall...(Phillies WS merchandise makes a great holiday gift!)

Wendy and Heather...I was most impressed with the Cowboys D at Pittsburgh, they deserved to win that game...on the other hand...Tony Romo takes far too many risks...you have to know the type of game you're playing. As for the Eagles...yeah, I'm glad they beat the Giants...but I still remember the tie with Cincy as well...it may boil down to Eagles-Cowboys that last game for the last playoff berth...that'd be fun!

BBL with my Boot Camp results!

I lost my whole post!!! Bummer.

Good job Jer, getting up and getting us started this morning.
Which BC are you doing? They both are killers.
If Cathe comes to lunch I am still ordering a double cheeseburger/ fries and milkshake. I just can't eat salad and goat cheese at a reataraunt.

I took DS to the doc office yesterday and it was very hard for me (and him) but I did leave with another full car of toys for the needy!!! Yikes. I pulled some weird muscle in my neck/shoulder area and it's killing me today. I hope to work this kink out very soon. Lots of errands to run and have to get my Christmas cards out. Had to attach a pic of the boys in their ties in honor of Dr. Epple. I couldn't resist. I'll BBL for more
Have a great day Peeps

I am signing off for a few hours in hopes that the nastiness in OD will just go away. Because if I respond it will get ugly, and life is just too short. WHY do people feel it necessary to make such rude and mean remarks to one another? Can't they just ignore the thread "Chalean Extreme" like I am going to do????? I'll be back later for all the PEEPS updates.

Have a great day!!!

Morning Peeps:

I'm planning a kettlebell workout this morning and then xmas shopping the rest of the day.

Jerry~ Have fun with bootcamp. It is really great that you have a group of catheites who get together. Have fun this Sunday (which is my DS's 21st birthday:)).

Ellie~ Cute pic...your boys are adorable! FYI: I would get the cheeseburger/fries/mikshake too;)

Dani~ Regarding your DH's company party post in OD, I completely agree with your stance on this and it looks like most catheites do too.

Waves to all other peepers. I'll try to check back in later.

JJ

Guten Morgen!

Today I did High Step Training Cardio/Legs only premix and it felt great. Well, maybe it felt great because I didn't really do "High Step Training." I did the cardio on a 4 inch step like I always do, then used the risers for the leg work. Let's just call it High Step Training Lite, shall we? But even the lite version left me red-faced!!! This was my first intense workout since the crud hit me and I'm soooo glad to be back!

Boy, I have really fine-tuned Houdini's palate for gourmet food! Last night I made a ham steak and did a Nigella Lawson sauce for it: ginger jam, brown sugar, 1/2 tsp. cloves (that's a LOT of ground cloves!), hot sweet mustard. Houdini helped me mix it up, and after I dumped it into the sauce pan to heat it and thin it out, I turned around and she was LICKING THE SPOON. Of ginger clove mustard ham sauce. She loved it! It was so funny and I was so proud she has such good taste at 2, LOL.

Jerry--Romo is NOT the Jedi Warrior in DECEMBER!!!!!!!!! I don't see how we are going to get past the Giants. Or the Eagles! I was so disappointed in the outcome of that game. Sigh. But we will have fun if the Eagles-Cowboys re-match is for all the playoff marbles!!!

Ellie--Your boys are so precious! :) And I'm glad you got more toys from the visit yesterday, so many children are going to need help this season becuase of the tough times we are going through.

JJ--Could you do my shopping? Houdini needs a Super Why book and Word World game. HA!!!

Wow, what is going on over in OD? I'll have to do a rubberneck drive by, but seriously, all the drama on a fitness fourm? I just don't get it...

Dani--I'll have to read your post so I can respond to that...but I wanted to thank you so much for your kind words about me being a good mom. I try so hard to expose Houdini to new things, expand her horizons, etc. and I do feel a lot of guilt because I'm a working mom. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for saying that!!

JJ--Your book group inspired me to do something cool for my mommy & me group. I've organized a brunch at Tom Colicchio's Craft in Dallas!! How fun is this going to be?

http://www.craftrestaurant.com/craft_dallas_style.html

I cannot wait to eat there next month!!!

Waves to all who follow!
:) Wendy

Last night DH and I went to the gym for 30 minutes and then we went out right after that to our favorite local Mexican restaurant. It was so good, but I felt a little guilty working out and then going out to eat. We were both in the mood for fajitas and they were so good.

Tonight I plan on doing a CC or iclimb workout on the elliptical for about 40 min at the gym followed by some core work.

Wendy – you are still the hostess with the mostess in my book, but I hear what you are saying about doing it for your DD. You are such a great mom! Your kitchen décor is so cute. I love it. I didn’t know that Tom Colicchio has a restaurant in Dallas. OMG, if I was going to the brunch you are having I would totally order Jumbo Lump Crab, Poached Egg, Spinach, Hollandaise & English Muffin. I love crab! That’s great that you did HSTA today. I do my cardio on a 4” step too and it works for me. Ever since my 2 knee surgeries I just can’t do 6” anymore. I love your comment about Houdini’s refined palate, that’s so cute. Any party pictures yet?

Jerry – my mom and dad have been to the outlets in AC and they liked them a lot. We still haven’t made it there when I go to visit them but I really want to go. Glad that you and your DW had a great time. I don’t know if you are looking for recommendations for circuit workouts, but if you don’t have High Step Challenge, that might be one to consider. It’s my favorite Cathe workout. How was your BC workout today? I haven’t done that one in a long time, so I might pull it out soon.

Dani – are you still feeling off? I hope not! What did you end up doing for your workout last night? How did your DR appt go? Did they give you a referral to a PT?

Ellie – your boys are so cute. I love that picture. I hope your neck feels better soon. Regarding the OD, I barely even post there anymore. Things just get way out of control and sometimes it feels like people are not very respectful and just like to stir the pot. I used to hang out there a lot (like 2 years ago), but I don’t like drama or rudeness, so I just avoid it now.

JJ – have fun Xmas shopping. Do you have much more left to do or are you pretty set? I am done except for my MIL and FIL. I told DH he needs to figure out what to get them and he is farting around with it. I just don’t care anymore. If we don’t have anything for them, we don’t have anything for them. I can’t do everything. Sorry about my little rant, but I just needed to get that off my chest :).

ETA - sorry about my weirdo post, but I don't know how the font got screwed up and can't fix it.

OK, just read Dani's thread in OT.

Dani, you are 100 HUNDRED PERCENT RIGHT about this. 100%! Stay home, let DH be a drunken frat boy for the night, and you enjoy an evening with a good book, glass of wine, bubble bath, Cathe, whatever you want to do! Then go and enjoy your party without him.

I avoid office parties for this very reason. I only have an occasional glass of wine and cannot stand drunks or being pressured to drink. Thankfully Houdini has given me a good out for years to come. Last year I just said, "Sorry, that's time with my daughter. See you tomorrow and have fun!" It was a huge relief not to go, actually.

So feel good about standing your ground. You'll be happier for it.

:) Wendy

Good morning Peeps!

Thought I would pop in this morning rather than later tonite! It's quiet here in the office so far, but that will soon change I'm sure...

I ended up doing my HSCircuit workout last night... it felt pretty good.. Think that GS BSB is on FF's rotation for tonite so will check on that and get busy! Thanks for your support on my OD question... I still don't know for sure if DH will go to his or not, but I am holding firm and won't go. There is another friend party, not company related, that we will attend together on the night of my party, so I think that is a good compromise... I really don't want to go to mine either... the whole company thing just doesn't appeal to me...

Jerry: glad you and DW had a great time shopping at the outlet mall. We have a few here, but I haven't been in such a long time, I would probably be on overload if I did... Good to have those proper shoes when trying to run! keep us posted on the Circuits too!

Ellie: LOL at your backing away from OD post! Most of the time I just read them in total annoyance but do not wish to be labeled in any way (other than comic relief) on this forum... I want to be able to use anyone and everyone when I need them! :) So I too try to stay out of the threads when mud starts to fly... Drama Drama Drama! Boys look so CUTE in thier little shirts and ties!!! just want to know how many seconds it lasted once you got home!!! I used to HATE dresses (I was an only child for 8 years and my mother used to dress me up like I was a doll!) so now I only wear pants and jeans and work in construction (well, in the office anyway)!!!

JJ: hope you have a wonderful time shopping... The best time to do it is during the week between now and the BIG day!!! I'm so glad I don't have to do much this year... just a few GCards for my sisters and cards and Smoked Salmon (homemade) for parents! VWALLA!!! all done!

Wendy: I love the HS workouts and will have to get Challenge... Now I have two HScircuits as another one came with my step.. I did find that the step was a little wobbly last night, but maybe it is because I have pretty thick carpet in my WO room... I did enjoy not having to lug around the big step though, and not having to turn it sideways to do the over the tops! How cool is that Houdini loves good foods! my DH would also be proud! I, on the other hand, was raised on crisp (meaning deepfatfried) bean burritos and crustos (fried tortillas with sugar and cinnimon) from the Taco Time my mother was a manager of and eating like my grandparents, meat and potatos... pretty bland stuff... It wasn't until I met DH that I really found out what sorts of gourmet food I didn't like! :D I'm such a picky eater, much to my detriment! so it is good that you have started her off right and early! May be in Dallas soon... if it is after the Holidays I'll look ya up!

Karin: I'm LOL!!! at your 30 minute gym workout and Mexican dinner... probably took more time to cook and eat than it did to workout! :) Thank you for asking, I am feeling a bit better as Aunt Flo is packing her bags and catching the next train for another month! I am sure that it is hormones and such... My Dr. appt is this afternoon, so will hopefully get a chance to talk about all that, cholesterol levels (see if they have gone down since March) and my joint pains and PT! if she can't recommend a good PT, I'll get an orthopedic referral from one of the guys in my department that just had hip replacements and goes to a top surgeon here in town... we shall see...

Vilma: raises a toast of WATER to you today and hope you are having a great day!

BBL to check on all the Peeps I have missed!

JOB UPDATE: I just got the news that we will not be moving to Seattle... They couldn't make the deal work for both myself and DH. I am pretty releaved that this is over and must say that I am not as upset as I thought I would be if I didn't get it... I now have a new project that is starting (that was not awarded to us when this whole ordeal started) so that is a good thing! this project, as well as another major project will be my focus for 2009 and into 2010! :)

Looks like we will be spending a few more summers here in Vegas!

Dani, I'm glad that purgatory is over for you and that you know that you will be in Vegas for the next couple of years. That must be a huge relief. Two years ago (for 2 years in a row), DH was searching for faculty positions and he applied all across the US. So, for 2 years we didn't know where we would be the next year. We were both so relieved when he was offered the job here in CO and we knew we would be staying here for awhile.

Karin, my twin, yep, I do cardio on the 4 inch step because my knees get really cranky if I do anymore. Like you, though, I still get the cardio up there while saving my knees for years of workouts to come! Thanks for the kind words about being a good mom, that really means a LOT to me to hear that!

I know, doesn't Craft look awesome??? We have some Top Chef fans in the group and they are so excited to go. I have no idea what I'll order as several things looked fantastic!! Hmmm, could I order two entrees if I do a good Cathe workout before I go? HA!

Dani-I'm so glad, as Karin said, that you are no longer in limbo. At least you can now enjoy the holidays without worrying about that! And YES, when you know you have a trip to Dallas give me a heads up and we'll try to hook up! How fun! :)

:) Wendy

Karin~
OMG! LOL...I could have written this post exactly! I always get a personal calendar made up with different family photos on each month for my parents and the in-laws. But DH is in charge of the rest of his parents gifts and he is "farting" around too!

I still have my kids and a few others left so I'll be busy shopping for awhile.

JJ

Dani- Congratulations!!!! Limbo is hell (well the game is pretty tough too). It helps you to know where you will be. And I don't really care for office or work related parties myself. I don't blame you for not going.
My mom still tells me I need to dress more feminine and show off my body. I'm 44 and have 2 little boys playing in the dirt, sand, mud, leaves etc. Sweats and Jeans work fine for me.

Jerry: Is it Sunday yet????

JJ: Shopping!!! I love Christmas shopping!!! But only If I'm not wracking my brain for THE perfect gift. I love to go by myself and find things for those that I know would love to have them. My shopping for the boys has been done for weeks because I won't go to Toys R Us after Thanksgiving. You could get hurt in there!!!!

Wendy: Guilt!!!! You are a mother. You will have it everyday. Stay at home, work, discipline, no rules etc etc etc. Just don't let it get you down. You are a wonderful mother and all these traditions and fun things you do with your DD will be very cherished memories. And I feel guilty because my boys wouldn't even taste some of the things Houdini eats!!!!!!

Karin: At least you worked out before you went to eat. My mother is here for a few days and we went to Chili's. I won't even tell you what I ate for dessert. But we did spilt it!!!!

Vilma: How are you today??? Do you ever flavor your water. yesterday I had the worst taste in my mouth after using a crystal light packet in my bottle. I've never tried that before. Do you use it???

Have a great day

Good afternoon, gang!!!

I loved Boot Camp...I only own the one that comes with Muscle Endurance. I don't do terminators, so I just did some jogging in place. I kept the weights at whatever weight Cathe was using...as a rule, I usually find I can go heavier than what Cathe lifts most of the time, but since I really shouldn't be going heavy for the time being, I figure dropping the weights to what Cathe uses will work just fine, and I do feel like I was challenged!

I think tomorrow will be Kick Max, haven't done that one recently.

Have a great evening!

Jerry, whooo hooo on Boot Camp. That is HARD! (At least it is for me!) Talk about a calorie burn!

Ellie--You are right, us moms just have guilt, don't we? Thanks for the good advice. I am no longer feeling guilty for working!! :)

:) Wendy
