Good Grief, my house is starting to flood

So much rain here in Georgia that the rain has come up to the level of the house and is flooding over the wood floor in pools.

Roads are being closed to flooding and people being washed away in their cars. Have not seen this much flooding in a long time.

Ummm, hate to say it, but you may want to turn off your computer and move it a bit farther up if your house is flooding. We'll still be here when the waters recede!

I am in north Georgia too and the rain is relentless! It's hard to believe that this time last year we were lamenting the fact that we had such a serious drought. Now the rain won't stop. Our area has gotten upwards of 18 inches so far.

Fortunately I am in a hilly area and our home is high and dry.

I hope all of the Atlanta area people are okay. ImFiddy, I hope your flooding stops soon! The forecast doesn't look great... more rain all day today, throughout the nigiht and into tomorrow morning. :(

Water came pouring in under the baseboards at the front of the house. I used every towel I had to mop it up. It's gone under the wood floor and so far has warped 2 feet out from the baseboards. The rain has stopped for now so hopefully that's all the damage I will get.

My daughter was driving back from a job interview and her car got stuck in the water going across a road. She had to get out and push her car out of the water to get by it.

I'm so sorry! Be safe whatever you do! I was in SW Georgia during the big flood back in the 90s! I pray it isn't that bad this time! However, from what I'm reading it's bad enough!

Take care and my prayers are with you and all who are suffering through this flood!

I live in GA too and we really got pounded last night. The lake we live on is atleast 15ft above pool. Ive been a nervous wreck all day long...constantly watching the weather and the news:(

Hugs to those who are dealing with the flooding....

Here are some pics of what is now my front and side yard(sorry there so big:eek:)

The 'roof' in this picture is the roof of the boat house...not sure where the boat is?

The tree in this picture is a couple of fee from where the shoreline is suppose to be. You can also see someone's boat that got washed up.

This is how close the water is to my place.

This looks way too familiar. I think it was the so-called "300-Year Flood" that hit back when I was in Albany. I pray it ends or, even better, this is over for all of you down there! I hope the lake doesn't rise anymore! I know rivers will still rise even after the rain is done. I think that's what did the most damage the last time.

Take Care!

Thoughts and prayers to all of you in Georgia right now. That is scary. I live in Houston and have had some scares too but nothing that close, or actual flooding in our home so I can only sort of imagine. I really hope it is all ok in the end.

I'm in Dallas, Ga.

I couldn't believe how the rain keep coming between Sun-Mon. It was like a 29 hour thunderstorm. It was thundering and lightening the whole time. No flooding at my house, (thank God). I'm sorry for what you're going through. According to the news, we're in a state of emergency. there is so much flooding. Even some major interstates are under water.

I work at a high school and tomorrow will be the third day that we're out. Making these days up will be a trip for some people.

Take care of yourself and I hope all dries out soon.
